Wow big surprise. LOL What do you think I've been saying for months? They will trade up to insure they get their next QB1 to start in 2025. It's a matter of how many 1s it will take. Hopefully not more than 2 but if we make the playoffs then it will be 3. I think they were hoping to package Bennett in the deal and maybe save a pick (like a 2nd or 3rd).

I think they will try to sign Sweat next off season. He would be a good compliment to Young, giving the Rams elite speed off both edges. Since they don't play contain with WILs or SAMs then they need elite speed to chase the QB or RB down.

Fuck them picks returns in 2024 you can bank on it.
Guys, I don't know why we even bother to do any speculating of our own. OND has already told us what has, is and will happen with this team.

Hes been "saying it for months".

I’d much rather trade a second rounder and next years 3rd for Taylor. If this team had a run game (and McVay actually called running plays) we would be 3-0.

Nobody is giving up a first for him. But a second and third? I’d do it. We need that first.

We need a future QB or we need more monsters up front to prolong Stafford for another year.

Lose on Sunday its likely we'll be 1-4 after the following week. Pretty sure we won't be buyers if that is the case. Its not like we have a roster that was expected to contend. Would a pass rusher make us a contender? One that will cost at least a first round pick and would have to pay premium money to keep?

Taylor would be a better option. But not for a first round pick and premium money.

This is what I totally can agree with. Sign a stud (F/A) edge (insert name), then draft BPA (or LT) with a 1st. Sweat would be great in "Horns, just wait til the off-season!

I am more than willing to trade any pick, but if giving up a 1st rounder that could potentially be towards the top of the 1st round, it has to be for elite young talent that we can build around for years to come. The Jalen Ramsey trade was a good example. Top 3 player at his position, at a position of value, with several very good years ahead of him. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. We do lose the full benefit of a rookie contract by trading picks for already proven young talent. But I consider that a worthwhile compromise. Even 1st round draft selections bust all the time. Starting next season, the Rams have ample cap room. No reason not to do it, but the trade has to be right.

I hope they keep their picks for the next few years. They need to rebuild the foundation.

I like how Les Snead runs his drafts. The Rams scouting department is excellent.

Always want Les Snead to trade back with Minnesota & Atlanta
back Greg Robinson was selected #2. Would have been the gift that kept on giving.Just keep that RG111 pick a live for years!!!!

Such the Old Draftnik though.Les Snead understands value & listening to him on the Sean Mcvay show in place of him really shows some of his mind sets on drafting players.

Talked about Puka & his 40 if he ran faster.Says he would have moved way up to get him.

I have to think that by now Irsay has realized he isn't getting a first rounder. He may not even get a second rounder, though I think that is appropriate for Taylor. And it is not like he can hold on to a player who is going to sour the locker room. He will be moved I think by the deadline.

So it is a fair guess to predict the Rams get Taylor. And typical of Jake to get it wrong because if we do add him it will likely be very positive for the offense. Taylor is a quality kid who produces.

I have no doubt he could help the offense. I'm just a little leery of giving up premium picks and premium money for a running back. Committing that much to a position with a short shelf life and higher risk of injury could backfire.

Look at all the 2nd round picks we have drafted under McVay/Snead. How many compare to Taylor in quality. Probably only Avila. On top of that your miss rate on that round is like flipping a coin. So that's why I'm ok with that pick for him, though maybe we get him for less and that would be great.

Taylor's injuries last year and this season should allow the Horns to drop any drafts surrendered to a 2nd or even a 3rd. Why give Jonathan a big contract now? Yes, he has clearly produced, but he was banged up.last season and is rehabbing from another bang up now. Can they not offer a Prove it! deal that can be expanded later if he holds up to this season's pounding?

I'm with you.

I acknowledge everything that other posters say about the Rams not paying a RB.. .but I think they're in a unique position to break that "rule", and greatly benefit the team now, without hurting it in coming years.

Taylor is a complete, special running back.

One important caveat in this is the OL. If it falls apart we are better off keeping that pick. So we will see what it looks like as that deadline nears.
