I don’t think it would take as much as we think to get Taylor. I am not sure we are prepared to buy yet, but the fit is pretty good.

I am not feeling it with Burns. Too much draft and salary capital for now. We are not in THAT mode yet.

Keep next years #1 draft pick. If the Rams are good next year (and that's the plan), then trade NEXT YEARS #1 pick for a bona-fide star to get the team over the top.

Brian Burns isn't a 1st round pick type. He's more of a combo of 2nds and 3rds. A 1st is more like a Jairie Alexander, Myles Garrett, etc.

But i get the idea. Personally Idc what they do and theres no right or wrong way to go about things. Whatever it takes to win.

Carolina can franchise him but last years offer will not be on the table for a pending free agent. Carolina has to handle this perfectly as well or things could go south. A team who he never has played with trying so hard to get him and willing to pay his price while current team may nickel and dime him. There's a thin line there.

Still kind of amazing to me that the Rams offered two firsts and a second for Brian Burns... AND the Panthers turned the offer down.

If we were to re-submit that same offer for Burns, this board would not be happy about it....

Wow big surprise. LOL What do you think I've been saying for months? They will trade up to insure they get their next QB1 to start in 2025. It's a matter of how many 1s it will take. Hopefully not more than 2 but if we make the playoffs then it will be 3. I think they were hoping to package Bennett in the deal and maybe save a pick (like a 2nd or 3rd).

I think they will try to sign Sweat next off season. He would be a good compliment to Young, giving the Rams elite speed off both edges. Since they don't play contain with WILs or SAMs then they need elite speed to chase the QB or RB down.

Fuck them picks returns in 2024 you can bank on it.

I still say a trade in the next month would be more about 2024 than 2023.

Rams have a track record of preferring a "proven commodity" over a premium draft pick. (Trades for Ramsey, Stafford, Miller, for example).

Rams might think a veteran "proven commodity" would have a surer chance for immediate impact in 2024 as opposed to a premium 1st round rookie.

So yeah, I think it's entirely possible the Rams trade their 1st round pick. I just think it would be more about making that "last run" with AD, MS, and CK in 2024.

Could the Rams make a run in 2023? Yeah, maybe, if everything goes just right, and with amazing luck on the injury front. But the Rams have a great chance to be LOADED in 2024.

Patience, grasshopper
It’s all about ascending back to the top……….in 2024.

I hope they don't trade away our first rounder for a player coming off their rookie deal and looking for a big deal, again.
Better to use the first rounder and sign a free agent.

Burns for our 1st round pick...

That would be considered thievery by Snead against the panthers.

Hopefully Carolina is dumb enough to agree to that trade!

I keep reading this narrative all over the Internet and from various fanbases but it's just not going to happen. Caleb Williams is going number 1 and Drake Maye is going number 2 and that's regardless of who has those picks. Nobody is going to pass on those guys to trade down, regardless of the conpensation offered... unless something ridiculous like an ACL for Mahomes or Burrow happens and a team like that ends up in the top 2.

Yet you’ve asked us to flag it?
Lmao - trade ? Did anyone say Trade ? I’m sure he didn’t mean the what number draft pick ?

I guess now as I try to joke, would that draft pick be & the value compared to if The Rams are winning or lossing.

Then you have to dive to deep down even further to figure out how good certain players are & there cost.

IMO - I’d say I want to enjoy the process of RAM PLAYERS as of right now.

I couldn’t believe what The Rams were offering last season to get him.
When The Rams made that offer they had a chance to win it.The Rams really let that game go away against Cinncy. Looking back at last season & seeing what played hurts as well.
Lossing to SF ,Anchrum needs to go IMO.The best thing to happen to The Rams last season was when Anchrum got hurt.

That said - Injuries to Alaric Jackson & Joesph Noteboom proves to really show there importants.I felt the spirit of Bobby Evans out there. The most important thing is Mattew Stafford didn’t get hurt.

Back to Burns as a question would be salary cap. The Rams do magic with it & willing to spend for talent. My question would be that.
Agree though.

I'd prefer they didn't this year.
One thing that gets lost is you save money on draft choices. I am all for trading for proven commodities, but that can kill your cap situation and because of that I believe you need to balance it out accordingly. This is the year to have a first round selection. If not QB, Joe Alt, if he's even there.
