The chicken crap way they're reporting it? Nah... they can say they "heard" anything they want whether it is true or not. I really hate reporters when they pull this crap. I hope it's not true - 1) because I just hope it's not true 2) because I hope they at least get some freaking backlash from irresponsible "journalism".

The word 'reporter' should never be used in the same sentence with LaConfora's name. At best, he's a tabloid journalist.

I doubt that. With all of the crap the media has been slinging, the NFL is definitely not controlling them.

Do they have influence? Sure. Plenty of it. They definitely can influence ESPN. But they can't control the media. Because if once someone reports something, everyone will if it's big.

Each of us is Truman Burbank according to him.

It's being reported now that cops don't even have the video.

If The Dez Bryant Video Exists, We'll Buy It
Barry Petchesky

We do not know if there is actually video of Dez Bryant doing something very, very bad. If there is, we will pay money for it.

For a completely unsubstantiated rumor, this thing has legs. Mike Florio claims that NFL insiders have heard about the video for months. Adam Schefter says he's been working the story since September, and knows what's on the supposed video (despite not having seen it). Cowboys COO Stephen Jones denies that the team knows anything about the video.

The video is reportedly for sale to the highest bidder, or, alternately, being used to extort Bryant. To that we would add: to anyone in possession of the video, email us at Deadspin, and perhaps we will pay you money for the video.

We have been approached by multiple tipsters claiming to know what the video shows, and there are at least three conflicting versions. Notably, of all the people who have offered descriptions of what's on the tape, not one claims to have actually seen it. There's more than a hint of urban legend here.

One person claims to have heard the audio, which he says has "been floating around the celebrity hacking/trading communities of the dark web for a couple of months." Another cites his "source at Bristol." Yet another demanded that we pay him just to tell us what was on the video. (Technically, he claimed, what was on two separate Bryant videos.)

There is a subrumor going around that screenshots of the video have been sent out. But none of those screenshots have surfaced, and no one in the media we've spoken to has seen any alleged images.

This is all very confusing. It would be less confusing if you, the person who has this video (if it exists), would get in touch with us at tips@deadspin.com.

Since when does Walmart's exterior security video (especially the large expanse of the parking lot) have audio ???

There is no video. Nobody would wait until 2015 to mention it either. The police investigation of the incident gave them no reason to arrest Bryant and all those involved never saw a need to file any statement about it. In 3 months, this story won't be a story as much as a media rumor.

This could be one of the most amazing media botches in sports for quite some time

I hope that this isn't true for all concerned. I further hope that all of these "journalists" that have kept what is increasingly looking like a smear campaign alive are fired and sued!

This is like the Salem Witch Trials. Why would you ever report or comment on a rumor? Dez is far from perfect, but these NFL reporters are the worst kind of scumbag. There should have never been a story until there was a story!

There's no integrity in journalism any longer, at least not at the mainstream levels. This works for the NFL as well as against it.

I hear this video, if it exists, happened fours years ago. This is slander at its finest.

Yahoo breaks stories in college football and are credited with being more daring and digging deeper because hey don't have affiliation with any major sports corporations.

The medias' hands are dirty. The media lives off of what they report and in many cases are far to reliant on their relationships with their subjects.

ESPN and NFL Network were all too quick to drop Spygate and accept what Gooddell was shoveling. Not a one really attempted to dig any deeper.

Now if you are talking about the New York post reporting on NFL wrongdoing then that is different. They don't make their living from it. But I don't log onto. The NYP website for NFL news.

I haven't read through this whole thread, but no video exists. It's sad that "journalists" these days just make up a rumor and report it likes if fact. Also, the alleged "incident" happened in 2011, at Wal-Mart. Here's the police report from that "incident". Yeah, sounds 5x worse than Ray Rice to me. *sarcasm. And if anyone is saying the Cowboys themselves put this video out, just stop.
