Chan Gailey, now here's a guy with a horizontal passing offense who is a good play caller. Lots of pocket movement too in the past which we don't really do, I think.
Would love to think @Boras is watching those little wrinkles and movement to get Fitz free for all those deep balls. There was a least a ply or two like that at the beginning of the game last week.

He's definitely spreading it out to numerous receivers in fashion.

It's a lot easier to be a good QB with receivers like Marshall and Decker.

Note to Rams, get better receivers.

Doesn't matter who the recievers are when the game plan is easily diagnosed by the opposing defense.

.

I'm so freaking jealous watching these two teams slinging it down the field. freak i hate fisherball.

.

This is exactly how I feel. I turned the game on and immediately thought, "Man, I can't imagine how much more fun football would be if we had a real passing offense."

I keep clinging to the hope that once goff starts they will open things up. I will be crushed if they have him throwing 3 yard outs.

That's probably exactly what they're going to do to start him off. Similar to how Shurmur started Bradford off. Get them comfortable, into a rhythm, ball out of the hands quickly, and then gradually feed them the occasional deep shot and flood the intermediate zones.

Yeah, i understand they are a staple of every offense but not 90% of your offensive plays like the Rams have employed since Sam went down.

Well, have we had a QB since Bradford that could hit the deep shots like he did?

I actually think we're gonna get some help from Coop and Spruce. Both those kids have good hands and will be where they're supposed to be. Both are scrappy as F and will throw themselves around blocking DBs too.

Not saying either is going to tear it up, but between the two of them give us 3-5 good possession catches per game and help move the chains? Definitely. Depth of matchup options can help a team because most defenses don't have great 3rd-4th CBs, and that can help the Rams win games vs teams they should beat.

I think that's the wrong way to handle him. Goff is a gunslinger at heart. He's going to be aggressive. No reason to try and take that away from him.

They are both rookies that weren't top 3 round guys. Not to say they can't or won't do anything, but as rookies counting on them to be consistent difference makers isn't prudent. Amendola was the last guy that gave them consistent production while on the field. His problem was he was consistently hurt too.

I understand your point, but even if we did run a real offense, Britt and Austin are still below league average starting WRs. Rams have not had above average starting WRs since Holt in 2008, and even then he was in massive decline. The Rams have selected receivers high, but every time they have they have missed and have had a probowl one picked lower in the same round. Avery over Jackson. Quick over Jeffry. Austin over Hopkins.

I've felt for a long time that if you're going to have a run heavy offense, you have an easier time of it with that one star receiver.

I used to hate Amerca's self appointed favorite team like some in here hate the Whiners, but the cowgirls are growing more difficult to dislike anymore.

Problem is, we all know that Fisher's ability to develop and play to a QBs strengths are...

I'd be happy with an Amendola clone to help move the chains ;)

I don't think it's a good idea either. It's just what I think they're gonna do.

Fisher plays not to lose. He'll try and take that aspect away from him.

Ditto that. Fisher is not one to change his stripes.....no matter how outdated those pinstripes are. This really does smack of 1998. The Rams absolutely NEED to get a real OC in the house....like yesterday. Haven't we suffered enough after 5 years of Schotty, Cigs and Boras??? Fisher loads up on well known defensive coaches, but leaves the offense in the hands of these guys?? Who the hell even knew who Cigs and Boras were?? Not me. I am not saying the lesser known guys don't deserve a chance....but did these guys really earn it?
