Can someone please ask McVay why we threw the ball downfield more yesterday than we have all year with Wolford making his first career start?

AZ was selling out to stop the run so that might be the answer, but even with Goff weve gone to such a short passing game that defenses are sitting on the short stuff.

Cardinals have one of the best pass rushers and the OL held up enough to allow him to get these throws off and I want to know why we haven't seen them more this year.

I'd like to know why we keep running on first down against stacked lines?

Pay Floyd. Hope that Williams doesn't get signed away with a top tender so we can get one more year of him. And draft a fucking Center for the love of Christ. JJ is gone. We do need to sign Gay though I presume that won't be too tough.

SF has zero CB under contract after this season, so given Williams' performance this year, their needs at the position, and the intel they can hope to get from him, I would be really surprised if they didn't make a serious offer.

it's gonna cost them their 1st rounder to pry him away form the rams.

You guys are sniffing glue if you think we're paying defensive players not named AD or Ramsey.
Plus we drafted replacements for Floyd and JJ. They'll get paid tho, just not by us.
That can't stay healthy.

*That haven't been able to stay healthy so far during their young careers.
And back to college. I'm not disagreeing that they may be talented, but so far you can't count on them health wise.

That's why you spend $$$ on professional training staff and facilities. It's too soon to pronounce them lemons. Plus the draft is about balancing risk vs. reward. And I'm sure our FO knows what they're doing.

Yeah I'm a little irritated that we paid Robinson and Brock. I don't like all the money in the DTs think that's some crazy shit. Brock's played up to it so glad they signed him and he's been a rock for this defense all year. ARob well I guess we'll see.
Well, in all fairness, Rams signed Robinson to replace Brockers since he was signing for big $$ elsewhere. When Brockers contract fell apart he basically fell in the Rams lap at a discount and they ended up with both. Still Im not seeing where they are overspending there, Robinson is pretty cheap all things considered

I'm sure the all-22 will show that they didnt keep a safety back to protect over the top, so it was ripe for the taking. Still, other than the Van miss, I didnt think there were that many deep throws which we havent seen

Perhaps Wolf was taking the shots downfield where Goff hasn't been?

Just a quick thought with no facts to back it up on my part.

The deep out thrown to Higbee and Akers’ wheel have both been on tape this year.

Looked like VJ had more snaps and a couple deep throws that we haven’t seen lately due to Kupp’s absence.

As much as I like JJ I think we have the horses to cover him if he leaves in rapp and fuller and burgess .. we have no one to replace floyd .. if it’s choice between the two I think floyd is the winner in the keep stakes I mean technically can we franchise tag floyd ? If it came to it

Nick Scott is going to be around in The NFL for awhile. This guy plays hard & has all the tools to be a good safety.

When he was out a game he was missed.I believe it was the Jets game?
Was nice to see him on a big play come up hit a Zona player hard.

I’ll wait and see what The Rams do about singing players. For now it’s the Players that are on the field week to week that tells most of the story.
Micah??? Saw Joe Barry coaching #51Reeder up on the sideline?
#58 saw him on a couple plays, now I’m pissed I deleted the recording of the game.
Does Whitworth get back & does he play another season or is this his last game as a Ram?
Blythe is a FA.He did well with his Snaps.Helped Wolford with play(reads)calling.

What deep shots though? Agreed, the Van Jefferson miss was a sight for sore eyes, but what other plays/throws were made that we hadnt seen? Wolford was a pleasure to watch. The plays he made with his feet were awesome, and bouncing back from that INT shows amazing character. He played the exact game you look for from a backup QB. (Well, minus the INT of course) The idea that he was somehow making throws that Goff wouldnt make though? Yeah, that's a nah for me. If Goff cant go, and Wolford starts the Seattle game, you can bet they'll be more prepared for what he can and more importantly cant do.

I'm not saying Goff can't make them, I'm just asking if he was taking those shots where Goff may be gun shy as of late? Just seems like Wolf was taking more 20yd fades but could be just my memory.

Outside of the runs, there was one throw in particular that sticks out to me as one that I'm not sure Goff makes. This was early 3rd quarter at 13:25 mark (I tried to link the video at the time of the play, it works if you click the url instead of the video itself), and the tackle brought pressure up the middle on Blythe, which is usually the type of pressure Goff hates. Wolford was looking to his right at the time, and both wideouts were relatively covered, but he felt the pressure, dipped his right shoulder, and fired a dart to Jefferson where only he could catch it. It was 3rd down and a nice conversion.

I'm assuming you mean the play at the 13:25 mark? Great play, and throw by Wolford. Curious though as to why you would think Goff wouldnt make that throw? He's done it over and over to Kupp on 3rd down.
I'm not taking away anything from the Wolf, he played great under the circumstances. Particularly after that 1st pass, he's got to be instructed on what passes to throw and what NOT to throw. He's not going thru full progressions, he's gonna be told that if he doesnt see someone open, to throw it down field. They arent going to be throwing high risk across the hash. I'd think they had him look for who was single covered and throw it where only receiver could catch.

I think Goff can make that play, it's just that Goff usually doesn't like pressure up the middle, and not sure if he would be able to move away from it like Wolford. Nothing against Goff really, I think pressure up the middle is most QB's kryptonite, but loved to see Wolford handle it nicely
