Wasn't Philly where the Fans were throwing rocks or ice in their snowballs one year, or batteries at the field.
Classy Fans!

Stressful. I was driving a 45 foot tour bus in those cities, both of which don't like tour buses. Few places to park and rude drivers. I am a historian now, and so I missed out on seeing everything my passengers got to see in the museums and the monuments. On that cross country tour, I didn't start to relax until after Minneapolis and into the National Parks
I heard the city streets are narrow in those cities. I know a guy that drove truck in Boston and he clipped a parked vehicle trying to get through the downtown with his truck. I bet you felt the same in those areas?

Santa Incident

At halftime, the Eagles were losing badly to Minnesota. That was when Santa walked onto the Franklin Field track and as I recall began tossing candy canes into the crowd. The public address announcer said something about the Eagles wishing all their fans a happy holiday season and I guess that was the tipping point because thats when some people in the lower deck started throwing snowballs at Santa. Other people saw it and joined in and pretty soon the snowballs were really flying.

That was before my time, 1968, but I swear something happened in the late 80s or late 90s too...

Wasn’t there a jail at the old Veterans Stadium?

Judge Seamus McCaffery Presided Over "Eagles Court"

In order to expedite the process of dealing with unruly fans, Veterans Stadium would have a jail, a courtroom and a judge.

There wasn't always a jail inside of Veterans Stadium.

After an embarrassing Monday Night Football game in 1997 that featured dozens of fistfights in the stands, the Philadelphia Eagles elected to build a jail and court under their stadium.

This court/jail started in 1998 and was run by Judge Seamus McCaffery, who would deal with the unruly fans.

If you were found to be getting into mischief during a game, you would be transported by security to "Eagles Court", where Judge McCaffery would swiftly deal with you.

-

Veterans Stadium was demolished in 2004, taking "Eagles Court" with it.

I have been surprised that the niners haven’t imploded with a rookie QB but, who have they played since he’s been in there?

Commodes is the best defense he has faced and it was in Santa Clara. They didn’t get it done like I thought they would, pressure, multiple sets, confusion. Beat him down and he will crumble just like other rookies.

I have to pull for Minnesota of all the NFC contenders. I hate the others too much.

Yeah it’s probably the niners’ year in the NFC. Losing to us last year was a bitter outcome for them. Eagles are balanced but who knows?

Speaking of narrow streets, I remember driving a 10 ton 8x8 HEMTT through the villages in Germany as a Patriot ADA operator and trying to avoid the cars halfway parked on sidewalks in the fog on those tiny streets. The only test to qualify was to drive the truck around our very open IRP parking lot. Talk about being tense. I was 19 years old. Good times.

I detest the cowgirls, the city of Dallas and the whole damn state of TX. Heaven help me if they play the whiners in the NFCC game.

Cowboys are pretenders. They'll wilt the moment they get hit in the face in the playoffs.

I picked the Bills and Whiners based on their rosters before the season starts.
I don't care who wins as long as the Whiners don't.
Right now, I think they are the best in the league, but, come playoffs, that only means so much.
Eagles, Vikings, Dallas, Chiefs, Bills, Chargers, Bengals....there are multiple teams from each conference that can deny them.

I've enjoyed Dallas the times Ive been there.
To each their own....the last couple of times the Whiners have made the Super Bowl Ive skipped the game and gone to a movie....consider the same if it's a Dallas Whiners NFC title game.

I am pulling for the Vikings....for their poor fans.
That said, they are THIS close to being a 500 team or worse....a lot of last second wins. They count the same but you can't count on those come playoff time.

You ever deal with them in LA or St Louis as visiting fans?
Yes... In LA before and after the St. Louis move. They are the biggest douche bags in sports fandom. Last time My buddy, who we had season tix with, almost came to blows with some loudmouth.
