*TRADE* 26. Chicago Bears: DI Kenneth Grant, Michigan

Trade terms: Bears receive No. 26 pick and No. 127 pick; Rams receive No. 39 pick and No. 72 pick

The Bears enter 2025 with Gervon Dexter Sr. and Grady Jarrett as their starting defensive tackles, both of whom graded in the low 60.0s in run defense last season. Using the flexibility that comes with having an extra second-round pick, they move into the first round to pick up Kenneth Grant. His 340-pound frame and surprising athleticism would be a massive help for Chicago on early downs.

This is PFF's latest mock. Not sure I'm that happy about the return on that trade, but I could certainly see us trading back to the top of 2nd. I'd rather we are not giving back 127 in this scenario.

Is Barron that good and sure-fire stud to be worth our 1st PLUS a 3rd? Honestly asking because idk. He doesn’t have great size (5-11), has shorter arms and isn’t a man D specialist.
He's very very good.

WAH WAH - I call BS!! Did you watched the Playoffs??? T’WHITE gave up SO many Yards & TD’s early in the season.
Cobie Durant came into his own,but got injured.
D.Williams was injured,but is a heck of a TACKLER & a solid CB.
—Whiterspoon shut Down J.Jefferson & most WR as the season went on.He will be much improved.
-Kendrick was going to be a starter.
There are other that have depth.

-Forbes in 2023 was a FIRST Round PICK!! He’ll get a training camp in & has NFL experience.Plus knowledge of The Rams Defense!

Say as you want.

What about pass defense with Rosenboom & Speights - LMAO !!

Then what about Lake ?? Kinchens ? McCollough?? Cam Curl ? Do they count as DB’s

COME ON MAN !! Get a ILber that is good in coverage & that will change The RUN & PASS.
Jihaad Campbell could be that guy.
I'm all for Campbell if he's available but sorry, we could really use a true shutdown corner. It just could be that 2 people could both be right and/or wrong.

I get the sense that you're against trade ups period this year?
Not necessarily. Its just very painful not having a 2nd this year with the talent that will be there.

In a relatively down draft, I don't think it should take a 3rd round pick to move up a few spots is all on this one. I'd love Barron.

Good. But not hardly worth trading a 3rd to go get.

True - we’ll see the direction The Rams go.I’d like to see a trade back & find a starting MLB .

Trade 26 & 127 (745)

For 39 & 72 (740)

At 72 find a MLB
The Rams still have 90 & 101
as well to really find value as the draft goes on.

Moving up from 127 to 72 allows that to find a starting MLB. With 39
The Rams could even find a MLBer or even a TE(RB).

Round 1 - Pick 26

Maxwell Hairston CB
Kentucky • Jr • 5'11" / 183 lbs

Projected Team

L.A. Rams

PROSPECT RNK

32nd

POSITION RNK

3rd

I think he's the best corner in this class. He should go higher than this, but the Rams need corner help and he would be an immediate starter. He can run and he's tough. He's just slight of build.

Hairston's a little thin in run support for my liking; prefer Revel or Amos more when it comes to that. I'd like him more with a slight trade down.

Ya I wanna CB who doesn't make business decisions with EVERY play, like ol' Marcus Peters used to do. He'd stand there watching RB's go by rather than get in on the tackle. Infuriating. NO defense player should do that.
It's what I love about Speights. Kid knifes into the scrum & makes improbable tackles, like you watch his replays & you see him going in between a bunch of other players, the play stops & he's the last to get up off the ball carrier, like how the heck did he find that tackle?
Our other "LBs"?? 5 yds away & out of position. every. play.
Anyway, I like that the DB's we have now are willing tacklers, at least from what I recall.

Todd McShay's Mock 3.0

26. Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

He said there is a lot of buzz around the league about McVay and Milroe.

Yeah, we already took a gamble on a guy like this who was a high pick, Forbes. I'd prefer someone with a bit more run stopping ability also.

Los Angeles Rams

Jihaad Campbell
Alabama · LB · Junior
PROJECTED TRADE WITH DETROIT LIONS

A first-team All-SEC linebacker with hybrid skills as a pass rusher, Campbell put on a show in Indianapolis. But a post-combine shoulder surgery has created uncertainty around his draft stock. If he makes it all the way to Los Angeles, this could be a coup for the Rams. The only problem with this projection? Well, Les Snead hasn’t spent a top-100 pick on a linebacker since back when the Rams were in St. Louis (Alec Ogletree, No. 30 overall, 2013). But Campbell could be a monster in Chris Shula’s defense, extending the fun youth movement up front to the second level. So, I say EFF THEM PICK TENDENCIES!!

I like Campbell as a player, but that torn labrum surgery drives his value down for us in this draft IMO. He might not be ready for start of the season and, I'd have to think, being a MLB and getting thumped on nearly every play, can't be good for a potential re-occurance.
