You must be one of the HS or youth coaches I work with. But which one?

I used to be decent at Madden. That count?

In Community College, I made a statue of Roman Gabriel, standing tall in the pocket, arm back and ready to unload. Stupid school liked it (so thay said) and wanted it for display. That's a decision I regret. :crying:

Canadian high school inside linebacker, for the same school that Chase Brown (RB Bengals) and Sydney Brown (DB, Eagles) attended. 30 years apart, and they were stars while I was a chump, but it's still all accurate.

A tall skinny safety on our 7th grade intramural team that played against 5 other intramural teams split between our two junior highs with in our school district. So about 20 kids on a team at most... and half of us sucked since the best kids played on the 8th/9th grade team

Then 3 of our OL started a dumpster on fire for some dumb reason and were suspended. Thus, I moved to OL and got our big mouth asshole QB killed each week. Which wasn't too bad afterall.

After that I stuck with basketball only and played that through high school.

Played in 7th grade at a decent sized school. I started on offense as a slot receiver and started on defense as a safety. I scored 2 touchdowns, one on a catch in the end zone, and the other a 50 yard scamper on a reverse. I enjoyed basketball better and played that through High School. Averaged 28 points a game my Junior year. My cousins son is the head coach of the Panthers, and since he got a 6 year contract, he is good to go. My cousins son has done a great job improving Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and now Bryce Young. Sadly I have never met or talked with David, he grew up in Los Angeles, and I grew up in Molalla Oregon1,000 miles apart. I did meet his brother Josh when he was playing Single A ball for the Dodgers. Hope to meet David one day soon at a reunion if he ever gets the time off.

I'm a Platinum level Fantasy Football Owner.

Played more Football than NFL Network Expert Analyst Cynthia Freelund.

Have absorbed NFL Football for 46 years.

And my IQ is easily higher than the average NFL Football Player.....just like most on this board.

Athletic ability and/or strength does not equal intelligence.

Roman Gabriel was my idle growing up. Wanted to play QB in high school but coach already had a kid picked out so moved me to the line which sucked. Never enjoyed it. They never passed anyway, back in the day... basically ran the triple option all the time. Did enjoy playing linebacker though and achieved some recognition. Been following football my whole life and considered myself football and Ram-savvy until I came on this board. Some of you folks are just geniuses when it comes to Rams history or coaching or play-execution or the draft. I was, however, an all-american in lacrosse in junior college. Wanted to go to Syracuse but they didn't offer money to defensemen back in those days. Now I am just a retired, Monday-morning QB.

Played football through HS. Only notable thing about my "career" was that I played with Kevin Plank (founder of Under Armour) on my Maplewood youth football team. He actually included a clip of a young Maplewood team in one of the UA commercials once. Pretty cool.

That program has had quite a few pros come out of it, including 3 current players. Hail Maplewood!!!

Here's that commercial btw. Maplewood is the team in white with the leaf on the helmet about 12 seconds in... Getting picked off by the UA team, haha.

Just a passion. THE passion, really. Having two kids now, its dwindled a little, but so far its aligned that Sundays are reserved during the season.

Watching games this year though, I realized that I missed my calling which was to be an announcer

Only semi-organized football I played was pee wee in the 4th grade (Center and safety) and intramural flag football in college (edge rusher and WR). In my younger days I would have made Tutu look like a giant. I was only 95 lbs in the 9th grade and had only grown to a whopping 5'-6" 120 lbs when I graduated high school. I was never given the opportunity to play high school football. I was actually a pretty darn good at wrestling so the football coach who was also one of my wrestling coaches told me I was just too small and too good of a wrestler to risk getting hurt and he would not let me play (I ran cross county instead). Even though I never was allowed on the football team due to my diminutive stature, I still played lot of backyard football (with no pads) with other kids in the area. I have always loved playing football.

Needless to say, I learned all of what I know as just a fan of the game. I have been following pro football since I was 10 years old in 1976.
