The headline: Simpson is a keeper.

My take on Simpson: get ready for another decade of great Rams football. Overreaction after just one preseason game? Hell naw.

Brennan Presley is a baller. Another great preseason. His only problem is his size at 5'8"". Two inches taller and he could be a starter somewhere.

Zdoink! He's already my second favorite all-time Rams' DT whose last name starts with a "z" and is followed by a consonant. (The dude with the cankles)

I strongly disliked what Hunter showed last preseason. Tentative, stiff, no wiggle. He looked a bit more assertive this year. But...

Holy cow, give Connors a spot on the 53 already. Great wiggle, great spin move, great effort, reliable hands. Nice work on ST too.

Bennnett looked okay I guess, but hard to imagine he'll hold off Simpson for too long.

31 was awful. Cut him please.

Andersen with moxie and a nice PBU. Not sure there's room for him though.

Tim Keenan is a big fella, jeez.

Jourdan Rodrigue is my favorite Rams writer ever. So knowledgeable and smart and well-researched. She can be a little long-winded, but she consistently provides unique info and insight into the Rams organization.

Jim Hill. He's been a voice of the Rams for literally forever.

47 with flashes.

Keir Thomas impresses every single damn preseason. Three years in a row now.

Max Klare has great hands and looks like he belongs already.

Anyone got notes on the OL and DL? I was mostly watching the skill positions.

I'm glad Xavier Smith is getting another chance. He was good all year until one terrible game. As long as the punter isn't Seattle's Dixon (with the weird Aussie style "banana punt") Smith has sure hands. I wonder is the Rams can bring in a practice punter who can mimic Dixon before they play Seattle next time.

Shula's side profile makes him look like a warrior who came off the set of the Odyssey.

Since he didn't play, are we supposed to think Rivers has locked down a RB spot?

Overall: Rams organization shined again today. So many coaches and players and analysts gush about how they are the ideal.

Simpson... Hell yeah!!

Connors deserves more preseason looks for sure. Broke first tackle every time it seemed.

Anderson looks like a competent backup for Lake. He's not a deep safety but nice tackler and instincts around the short to mid field area.

Simpson was hitting on all cylinders. Quick drop, quick processing, accurate ball. Tons of time to throw, so interested to see how he does vs a real pass rush. Has some wheels on him so lets see how that translates on this level.

If you watched Alabama FB you noticed Simpson liked to roll right and throw on the run. Sean let him do that to start to get comfy and play to his current strengths. As the game wore on Simpson stuck more to the pocket and was able to get comfortable and make quality throws from there. Playing well and making plays from the pocket was the thing I most wanted to see, and he pulled it off nicely.

He did have the one play where he was flushed from the pocket with pass rushers at his feet, and he managed to escape and complete a pass for positive yardage. That was encouraging.

Simpson had some great highlights last year of when the pocket completely collapsed around him and he still managed to throw a dart. So I'm optimistic he can translate that to the pros.

But yes, he had a ton of protection today.

Agreed. She's very talented. I see her continuing to rise in her career.

Yes. He's safe. The preseason predictor index hasn't failed yet. Besides, he's listed as RB3 on the Ram's recently released depth chart.

The guy who should be worried is Hunter. Although, he seems to be in the lead for #4 right now.

We are so fortunate to have Mathew at the end of his MVP career. The thought of losing him has had me concerned how that could rip thru the entire team. Would McVay go to the booth?

Nawwww....

Just get some peeps he believes in and the legacy continues.

Simpson has been on their radar an uncomfortable amount of time. I doubt McVay leaves that work behind. There really is something to prove here for both Sean and Les. That alone gives me some comfort.

Like always, after yesterdays play, McSnead likely sees something many of us were unaware of.

I feel better today.

WR Brennan Presley continues to impress when called upon. Made a great catch and had the wherewithal to realize and was not touched and got back up for some extra yardage. Great burst along the sideline too.

Also during the games I bring up the Rams roster and sort it by numbers just so I know who is who.

#31 is Al'zillion Hamilton, let us keep in mind that he just came back from the PUP list so I believe he might have been a tad rusty, however, he has a few more games to improve.

#47 is Wesley Bailey, and I liked his game at Louisville and he was very close on a few plays, but was providing pressure that IMO, the QB's noticed in their drop backs.

As for Nick Andersen, well, here you go.

THEY (Snead and McVay) saw it. McShay and Orlovsky saw it. The Quarterback guys KNOW what to look for in Quarterbacks.

And you're correct, many of us are simply unaware of the nuances the real professionals look for.

Snead pulled the same thing when he took Goff over Wentz in 2016. The majority of us I feel (me included) preferred Wentz, pre-Draft. We look for "wow," they look for "subtle."

He was beat on that deep ball and the wideout dropped it. Think that was Andersen at least. I did enjoy his overall activity though, he was all over the field.
I thought that was #41 Macpherson the CB that was beaten and Andersen came over and cleaned it up. Could be wrong, usually am
