I feel like changing the title of this thread to include “but enough about THIS season, why didn’t the Rams draft Creed Humphrey”.

And here I thought this hand wringing and griping got old several years ago. Guess I was wrong.
They haven't made it to the postseason 3 straight years since 99-01. Hell, that's almost a quarter of a century! Aren't we still pissed about that damn Trung Canidate pick........when we could have had Chad Clifton???

That comment triggered a memory ... many of us really wanted the Rams to draft OLB Keith Bullock with the final pick of Round One of the 2000 Draft, after the Rams first Lombardi.

The Rams had (Super Bowl hero) Mike Jones and Todd Collins at OLB. Unfortunately, the Titans took Bullock with pick #31, and Martz wanted Canidate. Bullock was a quality, durable starter for ten years.

Look below, that’s how you write an informative convincing post. Not “ I must have missed where Reeder got a big contract…”

Hell of a post, think you won me over.
Dude, I stated the exact same thing in earlier this thread, that he will likley be on the PS as a vet. And you lost your shit.

Maybe you were off your meds yesterday... if so don't lose them again.

Off season moves?

I liked the draft. They got quality talent and equally quality individuals. Take a look at their UDFA list too. Some interesting players there. In free agency, Poona was a great grab. Bringing Shelton back was a "my bad" after letting him walk last year. Limmer was good, Steele had him ranked as the #7 C in college in 2023, but clearly he had some issues during the year and in the postseason. Davante Adams was a coup, coupling him with Puka, allows Tutu to get some one on ones. It'll be nice to have Higbee for the entire year, Parkinson can step back to #2 or #3 TE, depending on how fast Ferguson gets up to speed and Allen is a nice #4. Overall, I don't think an "A" is incorrect.

Just so you know, I was right about Creed Humphrey and Les Snead was wrong to pick Atwell.
Does this make me better than Les Snead in analyzing draft talent? Hell no. It means that even the proverbial broken clock is right twice a day.
And yes, I have been over it for a couple of years as least and resist mentioning Creed's name anymore unless there is a passive aggressive attack that low key pisses me off. I feel a kin-ship toward the Goff-apologists, which makes me uncomfortable! :sup:
Even though I have watched our struggles at Center since the Tutu pick and have thought about how the Humphrey pick would have solved the problem years ago, I don't bring it up unless someone tags me directly or passive aggressively/indirectly toward all Humphrey-ites.
Let me be straight with you in bullet point form.
*Les Snead is our guy. He is the best GM for our team, even though I disagree about this one thing. Well, maybe including Jahmyr Gibbs too, eh @Merlin ?
*Tutu Atwell is a Ram and so I hope he does well. I am not a fan of tiny, albeit fast WR's with a limited catch radius. McVay sees something in him hence the new contract. Go Tutu!
*We may have our ultimate answer at Center in Beau Limmer, but the rookie f*cked up against the Iggles. Some say he doesn't read defenses that well, which I am willing to be patient about it if he has the capacity to learn. Stafford's shelf life has made McVay less patient, imo, and that's why we reacquired Coleman Shelton.
* For the rest of you who are tired of this subject. Sorry, not sorry. Skip these posts and live your life.

Funny, I just watched the end of the Bills/Rams game on NFLN. One of the biggest plays of the game, 4th & 5, Rams nursing a 3 point lead with 4 minutes left...

Stafford hits Atwell, who had the Bills top CB on him, Benford.... Result of play...
FIRST DOWN!

Humphrey may have been the better choice, but Atwell is a lot better than many guys taken in that 2nd rd. Sure; he may be more of a situational player thus far, but let's see if he gets more snaps this year and what he does with them. He has been in a tough spot as he has played behind two great WRs thus far in his career.

That’s not the gist of what we were talking about. But a big part of it is that Humphrey is the better player and fit a need at the time of the pick.

I never said Atwell wasn’t useful. He’s just limited, especially in an offense that requires receivers to block. He’s had some good moments, but who’s to say in that same game, had the Rams not drafted him, that another receiver cannot make that same catch?

I’ll drop it. I was just trying to follow @PARAM argument. I’m not mad about it. I just don’t understand his logic. I am trying to get him to explain it better I don’t need to keep discussing it. It’s boring me any way.

@PARAM

It seems we are ruffling a lot of feathers with this debate and apparently people cannot just pass over posts that don’t interest them, instead they’d rather complain. I find it odd since I sometimes skip by entire pages without reading the replies, but whatever.

So I’m dropping it. No hard feelings.

Can we go back to Santa Claus then? I dont get why some are down on the guy. Yeah I get it, he's a bit long in the tooth and needs to lose some weight but it drives me crazy that some folks only care about speed. Yeah great, the easter bunny can run a 2.3 40, big deal, he cant block for shit! And the hand size? Meanwhile that darned Leprechaun we took a flyer on in the draft has apparently left the team again for "personal reasons" (AKA probably Rehab!!!)
The season cant start soon enough
