You're allowed to do whatever you want. I question calls during the game too. Everybody has an opinion. Everybody can express their opinions. I'm not a Mary-go-lightly (nice btw). I'm not happy about everything my team does. If I were a Browns fan or a Pirates fan, I find another team. I grew up in NJ and had my choice to follow/be a diehard fan of the Eagles, Giants or Jets like the majority of fans in the area. I chose the Rams. Hmmmm.

So, you can criticize the Rams but when others do it, it doesn’t sit well with you? If I don’t agree with your take on the draft, then I shouldn’t comment? That’s what it sounds like this all boils down to.

Everyone can have an opinion. They can criticize or compliment. If you disagree with them, don’t attack their right to have an opinion. For instance, the fans that didn’t like the Atwell pick, which were the majority on here. You said we don’t know everything involved in a teams draft decisions so we shouldn’t be against it. But if you have a right to be for the pick, then I have the right to be against it. There is nothing wrong with having differing opinions.

But he had already had his knee drained in previous seasons, and he was not playing at an elite level by any means. His run blocking was never good.
Just pointing out that he started and played the entire season, with Shelton in a backup role.

The draft is about the future. They also fill needs in free agency, which they already did when they signed DeSean Jackson. Center was a more pressing need.
I recall the Rams being hot on D’Wayne Eskridge. He was a wide receiver picked right before Atwell. Who ended up being a bust for the Seahawks. If that is accurate, I think the picking of Atwell was a panic pick because the Rams wanted a fast WR weapon that could stretch the field. Maybe they felt if they waited till the next round to pick Atwell he would not be there so again panic may have ensued.

Where did I say that? Criticize till the cows come home. Like or dislike things they do. Express yourself. But God man, don't bring up mistakes from 4 - 5 years ago and harp on it FOREVER. Since the "mistake" they made in the 2021 draft, they've WON THE SUPERBOWL, been to the playoff 2 other times coming very close to returning to the SB last year, are one of the favorites this year. And still, yawl want to continue to harp on a 2021 draft pick?

Hell the guys who whined and complained when they were 3-6 in 2023 and 1-4 last year, let it go by the end of the season. Some fans want to whine for 5 years? Hey, let's complain about the Prothro, Linehan, Spags and Fisher hirings a little too. My Gawd!!!!

I get why people were upset with the Creed/Tutu pick... but, folks.. once they get their second contract? Doesn't it feel like it's time to just let it go? Up to you.

Me? I look at the big picture of drafting, for the most part, and that's why I try not to obsess over missed picks.. they're gonna happen. But, the thing is, Tutu was drafted too high, but is an NFL player on a second contract. He wasn't a true "miss".

The Rams draft well.. it's one of the reasons they're one of the best franchises in the NFL in the McVay era... and they seem to be getting better at it.

AND-THEY-WON-THE-SUPERBOWL!!!

Had we drafted Tom Brady instead of Marc Bulger. We'd be 7-time SB champs by now!

Come on man.
"They needed a center I tell ya!"
"But they won with Allen"
"Yeah, but he wasn't playing at a high level"
"But they won with Allen"
"Yeah but had they drafted Creed....."
"But they won with Allen"
"Yeah, but they still need a center"

Never in the history of the NFL has missing on an offensive center cost a team so much for so long!!!! Until the Rams missed on Creed Humphrey!!!

It's all good man. A thread on the 2025 Off Season Grades, has managed to include missing on a C in 2021 as a black mark.

Funny, I just watched the end of the Bills/Rams game on NFLN. One of the biggest plays of the game, 4th & 5, Rams nursing a 3 point lead with 4 minutes left...

Stafford hits Atwell, who had the Bills top CB on him, Benford.... Result of play...
FIRST DOWN!

Humphrey may have been the better choice, but Atwell is a lot better than many guys taken in that 2nd rd. Sure; he may be more of a situational player thus far, but let's see if he gets more snaps this year and what he does with them. He has been in a tough spot as he has played behind two great WRs thus far in his career.

Sure he would have stoned him. That's why Philly didn't sack Mahomes the entire Superbowl! :dizzy:
I didn't go crazy and say "stone" him as you said. Just getting in the way of him to give Matthew a chance to make a play. Humphrey is a better player than Limmer right now and that's a fact. I only brought up this scenario because of the implied false inconsistency/hypocrisy at the silence of Humphrey fans last year when in other years the picking of Atwell was used as the reason for post season failures. I didn't say anything until I saw your post over an issue that I thought was settled already. Atwell is our guy right now, as is Beau Limmer. I really like Limmer and think he will improve. As for Atwell, I hope he will improve

I didn't message you...

BTW... some advice... Seek help
Look below, that’s how you write an informative convincing post. Not “ I must have missed where Reeder got a big contract…”
Iron Man Eye Roll GIF

The coaches trust him and he knows the defense.
Getting guys lined up correctly.
This is very valuable to coaches. With a lot of new faces and young players on D, it makes sense from that angle. Same with the resigning of Tutu. I think the team has designs on him being more involved in the offense, but, him knowing all of the receiving spots in the offense has value with new/young receivers.
There is more to player selection than stats.
If Reeder doesn't make the 53....and I don't think he will....he will still have a role on the PS if he doesn't get picked up.
It is sort of likely he will get picked up off of the PS.
He is a LB with 6 years or so NFL experience, including playoff games and a Championship.
I think the Rams keep in on the PS until someone nabs him due to injuries/depth concerns.
Hell of a post, think you won me over.

Let’s be real.

Which one would you have preferred replacing a hole?

Agree again. You're on a roll baby! ...

If either Limmer or Dotson had simply stood in front of Carter and been steam-rolled, that fraction of a second could have made a difference. At times, Shelton is little more than a speed-bump in pass protection ... But ... a speed-bump may have made a difference on that play.

I feel like changing the title of this thread to include “but enough about THIS season, why didn’t the Rams draft Creed Humphrey”.

And here I thought this hand wringing and griping got old several years ago. Guess I was wrong.

(psst.... it's the off season)
These guys have the need to feed the football need.

I heard that the Rams are going to change what type of jockstrap cups they are going to wear this year.

And I think that's TOTALLY unnecessary.
What do you guys think?
