Because there is no point to having him as a camp body. Might as well bring back Rozeboom while we are at it.
Well Rozeboom has a $2.5M cap hit in Carolina this year and got a $800K bonus. You would have paid that for a LB we wanted to be replaced?

I will take Landman over that, who is Rozeboom's replacement. Reeder is just cheap insurance if someone goes down in camp. He likley gets a veteran slot on the PS at best this year. So again why are so many concerned about Reeder? It's like being upset that Shaun Jolley was brought back. Reeder and his contract are inconsequential.

I seriously can’t believe Creed keeps being mentioned. Like move on people. This coming from someone (me)!who was pounding the table for us to draft creed.

We don’t even know if the Rams scouts even like creed - he could have been in their do not draft list or. was a late rounder to them.

It’s weird. Why not complain that we didn’t draft Nico Collin’s, Nick Bolton, ARSB, etc.

Why no constant comments about us not drafting other star players from draft years that we passed on. Maybe if Snead came out and said he wanted Creed and changed his mind last moment or something. Idk. Just weird how 1-2 can’t let that go. Heck we won a superbowl. Like doesn’t that just ease anything. Weird

That seems to be the consensus Rams fans opinion. Yet in the 4 games Kupp and Puka missed last year, Tutu had more targets in each game than DRob.....by a lot (34 - 19 total). It could be said that's an indication of who was #3 and who was #4. On those targets, Atwell had 23 receptions for 332 yards while DRob had 9 for 156 yards, 1 TD. Now if you go by offensive snaps....DRob 90.9%; Atwell 68.5%.....DRob played more. But "playing more" and being a target more, are two different things. In fact if you look at the targets with respect to the snap percentages, it's crystal clear Tutu was the better option.
DRob was the better blocker and that is why he was the #3 and had more snaps. Is Tutu a better receiver? Maybe. But it seems like both have been clutch for us when we needed something. It doesn't matter... Tutu will be gone after this year unless he turns into Desean Jackson, which I highly doubt and McSnead will almost certainly draft a highly-rated and speedy receiver next year to replace him.

That’s an oversimplification. Humphrey is a top 3 center. Shelton and Limmer aren’t close in talent. The Chiefs blocking woes had everything to do with the guards and tackles, one of which, Thuney, is actually a guard. You cannot legitimately use that as a reason not to want Humphrey.

0-1-3-0 that’s the number of TDs Atwell has in four years. McVay didn’t like using him as a red zone threat. Plus, this past season when the offensive line was riddled with injury, Stafford had less time to throw deeper routes to Demarcus Robinson. Atwell ran more short and intermediate routes. Plus although Robinson was the third receiver, the offense ran through Puka and Kupp’s positions. So Atwell stepping in when Kupp or Puka were injured would likely get him more targets than.

I’m not saying Atwell hasn’t been a useful fill-in. But it’s clear that in the Humphrey/Atwell discussion that Humphrey was the better selection.
Oh I'm not disputing Humphrey was the better pick comparing player to player. I am disputing the difference both would make. As talented as Humphrey is, without the other 4 lineman being good, it's a bad OL. As it was against the Eagles.

You can take almost any player in any draft and find somebody who would have been a better pick.
Tutu's our guy and Humphrey is a Chief. Switch them and chances are good nothing changes as far as our results since they were drafted.

My point stands......I don't know WTF Tutu did in a previous life.:D

That is why I said DRob is in there when we're running.

BTW, I wouldn't be too sure about that 2026 highly rated WR draft pick. This draft, a lot of fans were sure we were gonna take Stafford's replacement. Or an OT. Or a highly rated ILB. Just as they were sure we were gonna draft a C in 2021. One thing is for sure, few Ram fans have nailed what position the Rams braintrust was targeting, let alone who.

But I'll be glad when they eventually take that All Pro C or WR or OT.

No shit? You’d rather have Landman, a good LB over Rozeboom?

We need to stop the presses. Put you into next GM there is. That’s an amazing take idk who else out there could have pondered that!

Seriously? You think you’re some type of football roster savant?

Last year we had 3-4 active LB’s.
Speights
Reeder
Rozeboom
HummelHampton?

Who do we have have now?
Speights who was solid?
Paul who was a high pick and very talented
Landman who had a hell of a game against us and is a good solid LB, better than Rozeboom or especially Reeder of the years.
A project in Dolac who looks damn promising.
And you are debating why someone would question bringing back Reeder?

:laugh4:

This is starting to be like a BSPN with the hosts speaking mind numbing common sense things and thinking they are some type of football genius. Just stop.

Reeder was signed to bring the new LBs up to speed. Once they're there......late August.....Reeder will be gone. I don't really know what the angst is about.

Speights
Landman
Paul
Doluc

People realize Shelton was a better C last year than Limmer, right? That is an upgrade if/until Limmer improves

That makes no sense. Adding an All-Pro center to the Rams Oline likely means Carter never gets to Stafford twice in the Championship game and likely the Super Bowl.

You are comparing a starter to a part time player. You are saying you’d rather the Rams draft a number 4 receiver in round 2 than a starter on the Oline. So by that logic, you would choose a #4 receiver over Avila, Havenstein, Jackson, or Dotson?

"Likely"? Carter had 2 QB hits on Mahomes so maybe Humphrey blocks him if he's a Ram, maybe he doesn't. If Humphrey is a Ram and Tutu is not, who makes the 18 yard catch on 2nd and 10 to set us up on the Philly 19 on our TD drive to draw within 6? What makes no sense is assuming if player A at this position were here instead of player B at that other position, we might have won. Sure. If Todd Gurley in his prime were at RB instead of Kyren, chances are he doesn't fumble twice and we win without Humphrey!

I'm not comparing anybody to anybody. I said, clearly Humphrey is a better C than Tutu is a WR. You then go on to put words in my mouth. I said no such thing or intimated no such thing. BTW, he's a #3 receiver. :laugh4:What I did say is, the Rams obviously didn't want to draft a C in 2021 because they felt good about Brian Allen. And what happened? They won the SB.

On another note, can't wait for camp to start and then finally the season. Something real to talk about.

He has been the number 4 receiver for the last two years. Time will tell if he can remain the number 3.

When did you mention Brian Allen? He had one okay year like 5 years ago. Wasn’t Shelton the center during 2021? Do you think Shelton and Allen are better than Humphrey? Because we aren’t talking about what the Rams wanted. You originally were busting on fans for wanting Humphrey over Atwell. What the Rams think or thought at the time is a whole different discussion. But it’s safe to say, since they revamped their drafting strategy after drafting Tutu, they weren’t even happy with the old decisions.

So, I’m trying to follow this circular debate. Creed is the better player, but you don’t think the Rams should draft a better player, because Humphrey hasn’t done great on the Oline during the last Super Bowl, where he had backups playing alongside him? Also, being an All pro center and Tutu not being more than a backup, has no bearing on who is more valuable because it’s a wash?

So, if AD is the better player, and never played in a Siper Bowl, you’d prefer to have a backup cornerback who made a few plays and helped his team win a SB?

The #4 receiver with #3 production. :laugh2:

Okay, I didn't actually mention Allen, I said the Rams weren't in the market for a C in 2021. (Why? Because they had Allen.)

No I don't think Shelton or Allen is better than Humphrey. I said, the Rams weren't in the market for a C in 2021. They were in the market for a deep threat and they supplemented that need by drafting Tutu and signing DJax....(who wasn't used enough to his liking so they released him).

And NO, I'm not saying they should have drafted a #3 WR instead of a Pro Bowl center. I said, they weren't in the market for a C. This couldn't be any clearer.

If that's circular, I'm sorry.

Yes, I was busting on Ram fans for crying (for years) about Tutu over Humphrey. And yes, there's been a knot in some Rams fans shorts about Tutu since 2021, no matter what he does. They've "revamped their drafting strategy since drafting Tutu"? How? Did we draft a Pro Bowl center? I think the FACT they signed him to a 10 mil dollar deal says all there needs to be said about "revamping since drafting Tutu".

BTW, I don't know that Creed could have blocked Carter. In the Superbowl every time he blocked him it was a double team. And oddly enough, Carter was his guy only 4 or 5 times in pass pro (double teamed though). He had him about 4 or 5 times on run plays (double teamed again). There was a lot of times Creed was standing in the middle of the field as the other 4 guys were blocking D lineman. Hey, if I were calling the blocking assignments, I would make sure I had help if it was Carter I was blocking or I'd assign somebody else to block him. So I will say this.....in addition to being a Pro Bowl center, Creed is also a pretty smart guy. :laugh1:

I must have missed where Reeder got this big contract, thus making him this big off-season commitment that will result in big ramifications if he doesn't work out.

Looks like Doluc is turning heads in camp. Just like Nukua did two seasons ago.

Also comparing Doluc to Pooh and right now taking valuable reps away from them rather than giving to someone who we already know who he is which is a subpar starter in the NFL. At the highest he ranks 30th in the NFL in PFF score of starting LB’s and he was usually last.

Mr. Misstep shouldn’t be on this team unless if they are trying to teach the rookies how to take your initial step the wrong direction 70% of the time.

He says Doluc vs Paul those numbers are not even close but they look close to me. Hey I got no dog in this fight so may the best man win. But I can't wait for camp and then final cuts. Imagine this D being a lot better!!!!

I agree. Imagine having LB’s that would have been able to plug gaps at Hilly last year? It’s under rated but essential in the playoffs .

I don't know what Atwell did in a previous life but man!

Rams draft Atwell
Many Rams fans go ballistic because they passed on Creed Humphrey
Atwell plays in 8 games and doesn't have a reception
Rams win Superbowl (without Humphrey)

Atwell has a pedestrian second year.
Kupp gets injured, Stafford gets injured, Donald gets injured
Chiefs win Superbowl
Many Rams fans, say "we should have drafted Humphrey"

Rams draft another WR, Puka Nacua (probably to replace Atwell) Kupp misses the first 4 weeks of the season
Atwell, with 18 career catches has 22 for 270 yards and a TD while Nacua has 39 for 501 and a TD.
Rams make the playoffs but get bounced by the Lions
Chiefs win the Superbowl ("maybe we should have drafted Humphrey")

Rams draft another WR (definitely to replace Atwell)
Kupp misses games 3 through 6, Puka misses games 2 through 6
Atwell has 23 receptions for 332 yards from week 2 though 6
Rams make the playoffs, beat Minnesota and take Philly to the brink before falling
Philly wins the Superbowl (nobody mentions Creed Humphrey)

Rams draft another WR (now this one has got to replace Atwell)
Instead Kupp is released, as clearly Nacua is the Rams go-to guy at WR and they sign Davante Adams and inexplicably sign Tutu to a 1 year $10 mil contract.
Some Ram fans don't believe that should have been done. Then West Coast Ram posts a chart that shows Puka is the most productive receiver in the NFL in 2024 and lo and behold, Tutu is ranked #12.

Still, Tutu better be gone next year!!!!

:ROFLMAO:Just having some fun fellas

I give the off season grade an "A"
Best move: Signing Davante Adams
Move I liked: Drafting another couple of beasts with great motors on the D
Move I disliked: Cutting ties with Kupp (though I do understand)
Since you poked the bear.
IF we had Creed Humphrey last year instead of rookie Limmer, would that Philly DLineman of had a straight shot at Stafford to end our post season? *flexes guns
Maybe or maybe not, but I think not.

As far as Humphrey over Atwell, sure that's an easy one. Pro Bowl center vs #3 WR. And yet the Rams managed to win a SB without both. There is no significant proof the Rams would have finished any better than they did from 2022-2024 with Humphrey instead of Tutu. None what-so-ever. Mahomes was sacked 6 times in SBLIX behind an OL that included Creed Humphrey. Humphrey alone couldn't make a significant difference because the OL is a 5 man job. There is the fact he's the one making the line calls though. Sure, taking nothing else into consideration, Humphrey over Tutu is a no-brainer. As I've pointed out, there are other things to consider. Like 1 WR can make a huge difference in the outcome of the game.
Would veteran Humphrey have whiffed on blocking the Philly Dlineman who ended up stopping Stafford from winning the game last year? I think he would have slowed him down at least, giving Stafford a chance...

When someone comes out of nowhere, teasing those of us who wanted Humphrey badly and not Tutu...you will hear about it. I purposefully shut my "mouth" about Tutu, hoping he does well as a Ram, unless I get shyte about wanting a top end Center instead of him, originally.
