Don't worry about # of sacks. Rams go 16-0 I could care less if they don't get another sack the rest of the season.

Seems to me looking down the road into next season......With the Rams being forced to replace All Pro veteran Ndamukong Suh NT & former starting NT & 5th yr veteran Ethan Westbrook the top DL'er in the rotation.......JFM is predestined to take up a starting position in the starting front 3 DL not as a Edge Rusher/OLB.

Starting DE (5 tech) Michael Brockers is set to return for one more season in 2019. With the Rams lost of both starter & back-up NT, I would say the writing is on the wall for Brockers to be our starter on the nose. The Rams did select in the 6th rd Sebastian Joseph-Day who is a NT. Thus far SJD has yet to see the field for a NFL game. SJD play in pre season was better than 2nd yr 6th rd'er (3 tech) Tanzel Smart who as of yet has been :poop:. RFA Morgan Fox who was our main back up @ DE (5 tech) in 2017 season is slated to return from the IR & IMO (if he is signed to a contract) will return to be the back up @ the 5 tech post again in 2019.

Projected 2019 DL:thinking:

DE-Franklin-Myers/ Fox
NT-Brockers/ Joseph-Day
DT-Donald/ Smart

What about Obo?

What about Obo?
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (whenever he gets healthy) will be utilized in the Matt Longacre post @ OLB'er.

Wade is currently utilizing a trio of Ebukam/ Longacre/ Young as his main three @ OLB'er. Young our 6th round 2018 draft pick had a INT in the 9ers gm. Matt Longacre is still not 100% healthy now ongoing for 2 yrs now. Matt will be a UFA in 5 months. I would think the planned starting OLB'ers in 2019 will be Ebukam/Okoronkwo with Young & Lawler in reserve.

My early guess on the 2019 LB'ing unit would look like this:

OLB- Samson Ebukam/ Trevon Young
ILB- Cory Littleton/ Travin Howard
ILB- MIcah Kiser/ Vacancy
OLB- Og Okoronkwo/ Justin Lawler

Rams will release Mark Barron & his contract cost$$$ & let UFA Ramik Wilson, Matt Longacre & Bryce Hager test FA'cy. I would not be surprised if Hager is resigned.

I gotta believe the Rams pick up a proven vet thru FA or a high draft pick for EDGE. OBO might be a stud but we won’t know until next year.

Here’s a “what if” for ya.

What if a stud playmaking OLB is already on this active roster and right under our noses?

What if Corey Littleton is his name? I’m serious.

I have no doubt that he could play the position. I think what’s holding Wade back are reservations about which player could properly replace Littleton inside. In pass D, specifically. We’re already having trouble covering TE’s, for example. Kiser looks good vs run game, but is he a liability in coverage?

Wade’s gotta decide what’s best overall for his D.lot’s of moving parts involved here.

He must be, because the D could sure use a run-stuffing middle linebacker that can also blitz up the middle. And I also wonder how LIttleton would do on the edge. He seems to do well wherever they put him!

I believe Littleton could be a very effective EDGE player against the run and bringing pressure on the QB. I wonder how he would do covering receivers. I say give it a try this season and see what Littleton can do. I also wonder what Barron could do on the EDGE. As much as I like Barron the Rams haven't found a position that aligns perfectly with his skills. The Rams can then focus on bringing a proven vet thru FA or a high draft pick for ILB.

Sure looks like a great selection by my Rams team. The future is very bright for this 5 tech DE.

Indeed. His parents did a great job with him, good kid with a bright future in this league.

Nah man. You don't move a guy who is playing at a near-Pro Bowl level at ILB to another position. Solving the other weak areas is the goal, not creating another one. Littleton needs to stay off ball where he's at.

The guy who needs to be tried elsewhere is Ebu, who closes and tackles well but sometimes in space struggles. He might be better served on the interior next to Littleton. Someday the Rams coaches will see it my way, I am certain of that. :p

Longacre has been really solid thus far. he gets off blocks, plays the run well and provides solid pressure. He’s no Elite pass rusher but is probably our best solution until we can get an top edge rusher.
