It feels like there are deep groups at a few positions the Rams are looking at.. so.. isn't that the perfect scenario for trying to trade down a little?

There are likely 3 legit 1st round TE's, but it doesn't end there. Lots of talent at TE. I still have to look into Fannin, but a solid chance one of the top 3 are there for our pick (sadly, no chance Warren is).

Good news.

I think there are a lot of groups that have some good players that can go on day 2 early day 3.

There's some that say Warren won't be the first TE drafted too. And i agree there are 7 or 8 TE that are good in this draft.

I can only dream of one more class as good as the last two.

If they could get two studs... at any of the positions they have a genuine need.. Corner, TE, LB, OL, WR... it would be pretty awesome.
I guess we'll have a better idea after FA gets going.

Man, I've been calling it with some of these guys. Anthony Belton, Ozzy Trapilo, Dorian Strong, Hollin Pierce, Aireontae Ersery, Jalen Royals, Darien Porter, Zy Alexander, David Walker, etc.

I feel confident that this is going to be yet another draft where I get at least one good player I want. Hoping beyond hope that that's the case.

I feel the same way about CB. We could get a good CB1 into the 3rd round. NT isn't far behind. I'd love for Nolen or Grant falling to us.

Nolen's another guy I've posted about. Dominant at times, and he was the top high-schooler in his class. Reminds me of Jeffery Simmons, but maybe with more potential than even Simmons had.

Grant is awesome, and I'd love the pick, but I doubt he falls to us.

Jordan Phillips is a NT I considered (and he'll be only twenty), but given that he's going high based on physical traits and not actual dominance (never really impressed me with any of his games; for comparison, he's been less productive than BB3 and Grizzly Gaines when they were drafted by us), it's very concerning.

these are my wants out of this draft. we must have a swing tackle that can take Havenstein place in a year or two. then i feel we need a ilb that is good in coverage because tight ends are so hard to cover. next we need a receiver that is a deep threat that would free up our other receivers. now if can fill 1 those needs in free agency then get a cover corner that is at least 6ft tall or better. then the rest of the draft is best player available.

I think he's still consistently listed way too high. The dude has a long way to go as a passer. He's a beast running the ball, but the small hands are not a good combination for NFL translation.

IMO value for him as a QB dev prospect is round 3+ due to high bust potential.

To me the slotting for those TEs is going to relate heavily to combine workouts. Fannin for example will rise big time with a good time. Warren who has been very in vogue due to his performance this season and been listed as high as top ten will slide to more reasonable range if he doesn't run well. Just the sheer amount of options means this group will sort heavily on the forty and three cone.

I think Golden will rise to round one. He doesn't have that lengthy frame teams want now outside, but he's got everything else and if he'd been in a better offense I'd say he would have done more. Not a fan of that Texas scheme or Ewers in general. I suspect Golden goes off in the 20s so would not surprise me if McVay went after him.

I have coveted Andrews since he came out. So if the Rams were to do that I'd be behind it.

That said I'm a huge fan of Fannin. I think he is one player who, if McVay were to get him, would be unstoppable. And he fits man. He fights his ass off in blocking. He does a ton of little things well. And he has that knack of consistently being open to handle a high volume and move the offense. McVay needs a slot stud and there are many options into round 3 but Fannin IMO is a blue chip impact stud in this offense.

This game of his vs Penn St shows his game translates.

You know what that dude's nickname will be if we get him: "Nutmasher!"

Killjoy.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing with Fanin, but I keep wondering why he looks a bit awkward when he runs. I think he has a little bit of Crazy Legs Hirsch in his running style. He runs on his in steps a bit, like he's 'penguin footed'. I imagine that makes him a bit slower than he could be.

I don't see the 'blocks his ass off' part. But he's tall with good hands and was a real problem for PSU that day. Coupled with Bowling Green's very experienced Oline, and short passing game, plus Tom Allen's odd DB coverage calls that game ended up being much closer than I had hoped.
