Honestly I think there is zero chance for this.. with the last few years we’ve proven to try and move up for a skill position player and of those two quality TE’s falls in McVays lap I don’t see us turning that down.
He's a very hard one to get a gauge on for me. Talent wise he's a high pick but the injury hurts him. I guess it comes down to testing and that 40 time. Rams we know don't pay much attention to it but others do and it could vault him back up to where he should be.

A couple guys on another site that are usually pretty good with their mocks don't have him high at all. One not in his 2 rounder the other not in his 3rd. Can change of course and they can be wrong but that's FWIW. That site that tracks his average in mocks has him at like 45 right now.

I had my fun with a monster NT type in my first mock but I've moved off it was a fun fantasy for a while. IMO grabbing Golden, Harris, Barron or one of the TE's with our first pick and taking somebody like Stackhouse at NT in your mock at 126 or Hemingway at 162 would be better IMO. Jenkins is another nice DL.
There's a ton to like with the TE's who will be there around where we draft in the 1st. Warren and Loveland could be gone but Taylor and Arroyo could be there for us or there bottom of 1st/top of 2nd.

It's early in the process but sounds like he might be TE 5 after the showing of Taylor and Arroyo at the Senior Bowl.

And that's not taking away anything from him as a prospect!

Lots to get excited about with this TE class. No Bowers ,but really good talent all over.

Something about Fanning scares me. Those prospects from those schools.

I’d rather god with Loveland/Arroyo/ Ferguson tbh

If the Rams draft a TE high, the player is going to be a competent blocker.

Last time I checked Loveland and Taylor were graded low in that category.

Fanin received accolades for his blocking during Senior bowl practices.

Hardest part about watching players (without watching the games), and I haven't watched any of their games yet, is getting any sense of their blocking as you'll generally not find it on highlights and if you do, it's a win. From what I understand Loveland and Taylor block fine but you just wouldn't want them blocking in-line and definitely not a DE (at this point).

Good to hear about Fannin, I did not hear that about him in SB practices and from what I understand he's the worst blocker of the three, partly due to his size and frame.

I was curious how many of you all think that the drafting of Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell solidified their defense as Elite?

If so, should the Rams do the same this draft? Considering that ILB will also be addressed in FA or the Draft.

Considering the Eagles are about to win the Superbowl, I thought it was a good general discussion. MOD's please move to Draft section if need be
It certainly did. Roseman is one lucky SOB. They needed a good d line man and Jalen Carter gets arrested and drops to them. Otherwise he goes top five. They need two CBs and both Mitchell and DeJean fall to them because its a draft full of QBs and offensive tackles. In most years they likely only have a shot at DeJean where they picked in round one, but no way would Mitchell have lasted that long.

He stumbles onto a giant Rugby player who ends up being a great Left tackle.

Then the Giants hand them Barkley on a silver platter. Barkley is from that area and grew up an Eagles fan.

Throw in the Titans deciding to trade away their only good receiver a few years ago.

Things fell so perfectly into place for Roseman these last few years.

I think during later portions of the draft that is true. You can't tell me Verse and the trading up for Fiske were the BPA
Verse was and that made Fiske the best option for their plan.

I think Fannin and Taylor are those 25-45 types who are usually gone before we pick. Arroyo may bump both down (he looks like a more fluid athlete) but his injury concerns me. I want a TE who can deliver a decade of production or damn near.

Taylor I think is a bit underrated right now. But this class is strong as hell at the top so lookin forward to the combine.

The Front 4 is also elite. HOWEVER, strong coverage on the backend really made the front 4 a lot better.

The problem is I don't see another Mitchell and CERTAINLY not a other DeJean in the draft. I tried telling EVERYONE that DeJean was going to be an NFL ELITE and Legend. He's great in every aspect plus incredibly physical and explosive.

I WILL however say this.. there's an Iowa DB in the draft named Sebastian Castro.. he played the CASH position last season and would be incredibly dominant on the slot/STAR role. He's an enforcer, a thumper and can play ZONE very well.

A player after him is Jermari Harris who would be more of a 5th(ish) round pick.

They also rushed 4 almost all night long because those 4 could get home and the secondary could cover. It's a damned good team and those 2 draft picks capped it off. But we can't spend our first 2 picks on DB's and we shouldn't like you said.
I wouldn't go that far and say we shouldn't spend the first 2 picks on DB. I totally get why we most likely won't, but the unknown is what do we do in free agency and how do the Rams view this draft class. If 2 DBs that are high on their board are there for the taking, I wouldn't be opposed to it. Our defensive line has pass rushing chops big time and we do have a huge need there. Williams is not in the future plans, Durant is ok but coming up on a contract, Witherspoon is a FA again, and we had one rookie play well there and pretty much just a bunch of Jags after that. It's a possibility to me because of the fact that Snead sometimes likes to double dip at positions of need. I do find it more possible that we may spend a high pick there and a later one again, but it's anyone's guess.

Exactly saying we should or shouldn't do something is very premature. But ore free agency i say we shouldn't do this, there are need as big as CB. In a month this might change but right now it's an over reaction.

Agreed, there are way too many possibilities and questions to give a solid answer on where to address our roster. However, it makes it fun to do mocks because of all the possibilities. I'll call it being over zealous lol
