I was curious how many of you all think that the drafting of Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell solidified their defense as Elite?

If so, should the Rams do the same this draft? Considering that ILB will also be addressed in FA or the Draft.

You are forgetting not only do they have a stacked Secondary but a stacked ass D-Line. Shit right before our game with them they lost two starters and still had crazy depth.

Yeah the secondary alone didn't do this, while they're good. That entire team is stacked from a lot of years hitting on drafts and some good free agent signings. Let Les keep doing what he's doing and we'll be just fine.

Yeah, we need two good cover CBs, preferably one via FA and one via draft as they have other draft needs.

I would go after a LB, maybe Baun, and a CB. Maybe a WR in FA, then focus on the draft for everything else.

Yeah, getting two good cover corners would be the biggest thing to step our D up to elite, but we do need to upgrade ILB too.

OK BPA is best player available yes? So when Bowers is gone who is then the best player available? What you're describing is a team that has 1 player in mind with a pick and nothing else matters. That's what terrible teams do, and there are very few of those. It's a list of their best players so when somebody is gone it's the next guy on the list. Player 2 is plan B player 3 is plan C etc etc.

The reason why their defense works so well is they could spend top tier draft picks on D with prospects falling in their laps.

They also rushed 4 almost all night long because those 4 could get home and the secondary could cover. It's a damned good team and those 2 draft picks capped it off. But we can't spend our first 2 picks on DB's and we shouldn't like you said.

I'd say they both were.

They tried to trade for Bowers who they thought was BPA. Then it was reported that they wanted Murphy who went a pick or two before. At that point, they stayed put for Verse who they had as next BPA after the earlier two mentioned.

On Fiske, you don't aggressively trade up if you don't think he's BPA. It was reported that they had a 1st round grade on him which is why they paid so much to trade up.

I had my fun with a monster NT type in my first mock but I've moved off it was a fun fantasy for a while. IMO grabbing Golden, Harris, Barron or one of the TE's with our first pick and taking somebody like Stackhouse at NT in your mock at 126 or Hemingway at 162 would be better IMO. Jenkins is another nice DL.

Honestly I think there is zero chance for this.. with the last few years we’ve proven to try and move up for a skill position player and of those two quality TE’s falls in McVays lap I don’t see us turning that down.
