Goff is a rookie. And that's not my "logic." That's my explanation of why he's not playing. My "logic" is that he's not a good QB and that opinion comes from watching him play.
Last year Mannion was a rookie and that's why he didn't see the field. Stahp. Your own logic is defeating you now. Stahp.

No way Mannion plays this year since the have the #1 pick on the bench and Fisher would be crucified if he started Mannion over Goff.

I'll be honest with you I am 100% a Carson Wentz fan. You remember my content where I was favoring Wentz. I even have a big board where he's #2 overall behind Tunsil. However, I had Goff at #6 and he wasn't just picked #1 for no reason. Today he turns 22 so he's now one year younger than Wentz. The Keenum apologists are really laughable to me. This dude is the luckiest SOB I have ever seen. LOL you think if Sam Bradford and Austin Davis had the team that he has they would have thrown more INTs than TDs? They would have thrown away the game? They would have had to have been carried from the word go? No! It's preposterous Keenum is sooo average AT BEST it's just getting on my nerves. He gets all this support from fans that think sitting Goff is the way to go.

Well guess what? I watched Goff all throughout Hard Knocks and one thing I noticed immediately is that Goff is a hands on learner. Go back and watch if you don't think so. Goff needs to do things and be told what he did and or didn't do wrong. This isn't Brett Favre starting and Goff watching no, this is Jared Goff watching Case Keenum make rookie mistakes at the age of 28. He's not a young guy like Trevor Siemian (who by the way was picked 4 rounds after Mannion and Mannion has still never started for a team with a pee pee poor bunch of QBs, but I digress). Keenum is no different than Shaun Hill however, Hill wasn't atrociously bad. Keenum has no idea what he's doing in the red zone. It's time guys I mean I only take half of the hate with a grain of salt cause clearly the majority don't read my articles before they smash. Goff had ONE drive with the 1st teamers (shows you how much Fisher knows about offensive development). What did he do (oh and that drive was without Gurley, Tavon, Kendricks and even Benny might I add). He went down the field and threw a beautiful touchdown to Kenny Britt. The velocity and the ball placement was something else. Goff is going to be good but it's time to stop bowing down to mediocrity and roll the dice on greatness. What makes any of you think he can't do anything the two rookies are doing right now? Wentz didn't even throw a touchdown in preseason but he did throw an interception and broke his ribs...Only to get on the field week one and amaze many. You need to stop this BS narrative that he's not ready. You don't know he's not ready. Mannion has probably been ready and he was even reported to have outplayed Keenum and Goff all training camp yet hes #3 on the depth chart. Maybe you need to look at Fisher's (who I don't even hate) track record. I'm tired of the Keenum support its just cause you guys haven't seen 3-1 since 2006 and now you think Keenum magically has something to do with that. Nope, definitely not the fact the defense has only gotten better over time and yes, eventually the Rams are going to become a Super Bowl contender. Keenum is the luckiest QB in the last 10 years. Averaged 152 yards last year and didn't really have to do anything but all anyone says is look how well he did against TB. They don't mention how he costed us the game vs Baltimore with his fumbling (which Austin Davis was crucified for). Keenum isn't a savior he's just there because Fisher is being an idiot and won't start Goff.

You need to calm down. So some of us support our starting QB and you are mad over that? A lot of us want to see Goff play. Whining about it, saying fisher is an idiot, saying Keenum has no clue what he's doing isn't going to miraculously make fisher start him.

I've said this before but a lot of people get caught up with Goffs #1 overall status. Keenum is better than you give him credit for. If he was atrociously bad as you say he is, I don't think we have a winning record. Yea sure our defense has made plays but isn't this a TEAM game? Its not extraordinary for all phases to contribute to wins. Keenum is by no means a savior. He is not a top QB. What he is, is a solid stop gap until Golden Boy is ready. When is that? I don't know but as long as the Ws keep coming I'm ok with Fishers approach.

What would you say about him if you hated him.

They can draw plays in the dirt with their finger for all i care. Just score some more points.
Just don't draw up the pass to TA in the flat at the 10 yard line. When are we going to see a fade to one of those 6'4" guys? or Kendricks in the back of the endzone? Piss poor play calling in the redzone has been more of a factor than Keenum's play

Yet, he's starting Keenum over Goff. What kept Mannion from beating out Keenum for the job?

My own logic is "defeating" me? Pretty clear that you STILL don't understand my logic. Sean Mannion is the third string QB because he's the worst QB on the Rams roster. That is my logic.(note: my logic is not that Sean Mannion is the worst QB on the roster because he's the third string QB) Mannion is a slow-footed passer prone to bad decisions and too reliant on dumping the ball off. He has middling at best arm strength. He's basically Nick Foles without experience.

Do I respond with stahp now?

Probably not. He's a rookie. But he'll get better and better. The team is capable of carrying him right now.

I think even with his rookie struggles and the team likely needing to carrying him for a few games, his instincts and vision inside the redzone was one of the biggest reasons I was on his bandwagon after doing marathons of film review of Lynch, Wentz and Jared.

I believe Goff has a God given gift of peripheral vision to do some special things inside the 20 and 10 yard lines. He still has to prove it at the NFL level but until he shows he cant, my faith in his abilities hasn't wavered one bit.

Tell me are you a Case Keenum fan? Because you automatically sound like one. No, I don't but I watch tape every night and I am trying to get my knowledge to that point. Hate on me all you want I couldn't care less but the fact is this. Keenum is horrible, he misses reads, he misses throws, yes the line sucks but when it doesnt keenum is just terrible. Watch Carson Wentz in the same types of situations and tell me that Keenum is good. Watch Dak Prescott. I'm really tired of the Keenum led us to 3-2 BS! He hasn't done anything. He is carried by an elite defense and a WR group that is among the most underrated I have ever seen. Keenum did nothing he just did what any backup can do. Make throws when receivers are wide open (although he can barely do that). Keenum finally was needed to do more and he proved he can't. It's time for him to take a seat on the bench. Watch the Bills/Rams tape I'm telling you Austin roasted Stephon Gilmore all game and Quick roasted Williams and Britt got open a fair amount of the time when Ronald Darby was on him.

Utter fail Jake

Answer the damn question

I agree with you except that maybe, just maybe, Keenum's QB play is the reason for the play calling. These coaches do see him in practice, and we know from Hard Knocks that Goff throws those fades to the 6'4" guys. So I am not convinced that the coaches are that stupid that they don't call better plays in the red zone, maybe Keenum checks down more in the red zone than he does between the 20s, and there is a lot of checking down between the 20's, especially on third downs.

When then?
"no doubt he has the arm....but" but what?
What is he missing except for experience?

I think if you revisit last weeks game vs Buffalo you'll get a better sense of why most think it is time

Ok Rams fans I'm a huge Keenum fan. Not because I think he's the greatest QB but because of the guys work ethic and story. Get behind the guy, it's a great story and so satisfying when the QB of your team is winning with nothing but pure effort. Till he gets replaced by Goff you guys need to enjoy the ride, Keenum is giving his all out there. Nobody thought he would be in the nfl this long when he played safety on the texans practice squad. Sports stories don't get any better than this. The results with the winning efforts and some perfect passes are making the saga epic. He has proved so many radio hosts and newspaper writers wrong for so long its now laughable. Look at the 2012 draft and see how big the misses are. 20,000 yards and 150 tds at UH made me a believer. Enjoy it while you can pro football fans.

Tim Tebow coming back to the NFL to play QB for the Rams would also be an inspiring story. I still don't want it to happen.

By all means talk football. But I promise if the effort put forth by Keenum matched the effort by the rest of the team you wouldn't be hollering for Goff so hard.

What? It's the rest of the team's fault now?

So let's talk football.
What do you mean by your last statement?
How exactly are you quantifying effort put forth by Keenum as compared to the rest of the team?

And i'm not hollering for anybody. I do however think Goff is a huge upgrade and has probably even more work ethic, guts, and an equally compelling "story" as Keenum does
