Do the Patriots get back Gordon and a healthy Gronk?
What exactly is a “Healthy Gronk”?
The dude is hurt every year.
He was fine.
As for Gordon? We’re putting him in the same class as Gurley?
The Rams win that game with either Kupp or Gurley.
With both healthy? Not even fair

With Kupp's route running and catch most everything style, (our Edleman?) it should have opened things up enough for a healthy Gurley to do his thing. The Ram's played like they had never been there before (not a surprise, I guess) but but with just a few successes they could have gotten some momentum like they did with the one drive.
Gronk is still a match up problem but he is not the player he was regardless of injuries.

I think in a healthy Pats vs a healthy Ram game, the Rams win by a couple of TD's......

Our team was one of the most healthy in the NFL. Availability is part of the game, so this wondering is pure fantasy. We should have been better prepared than we were, but that's part of being young at HC.

Wait. You mean this doesn't count?

Fuck to the yes. Cooper Kupp would have shredded that zone defense.

not sure. cj anderson was healthy. the oline couldnt contain their dline. and goff wasnt making throws (certainly not to wide open receivers) he actually could have converted a 3rd and 22 had he not been so hell bent on overthrowing brandin cooks. experience won this game. if gurley does have a serious knee injury, then cj anderson is a must sign..........then let gurley heal completely. kupp may have helped............but then again if you're too busy overthrowing receivers or not seeing wide open ones, then even a jerry rice or isaac bruce, they wouldnt be of much help either. all season it seems that if you stopped the rams running game, you pretty much have stopped their offense. new england shut down the running game and goff did nothing to counter that with the passing game.

I don’t agree with the premise of the question.

Any team that makes the SB is probably going to be missing 2 or 3 or 4 key pieces.

Suppose we had a fully healthy Gurley and Kupp— but were missing Talib and J Johnson instead?

Eagles won SB without their starting QB and LT.

Bottom line, no team should count on being 100% healthy in the playoffs.

Maybe with Gurley more healthy but Kupp would have zero impact.
We had receivers open all day, another open receiver wouldn't have helped a struggling QB

I rarely give different opinions but I just had to on this one.

Goff and Kupp have consistently shown that they are on the same page with each other. Time after time Goff will hit Kupp in stride. With Reynolds, Goff rarely hit him in stride. Throughout the year, I felt Goff and Reynolds just were not on the same page. Goff would think Reynolds is going one way and sure enough Reynolds would turn the other way and Goff would throw behind Reynolds.

Goff throws behind to Cooks and Woods only once in awhile. And almost never did to Kupp. Go back and watch his throws to all the receivers during the year. The only time Goff was frequently behind in his throws or off target by more than a couple yards were throws to Reynolds.

With Kupp (and not even a healthy Gurley), we win handily if we hold the patriots to 3 points thru the middle of the 4th.

With Kupp we score 13 to 21 points minimum in the first half.

Deleted everything I said because It's a ridiculous argument in the first place, sorry I got sucked in by the over-emotional

3-3 in the 4th QTR

Hard to believe having 2 of our best weapons wouldn't have made a difference.

But, we were schemed pretty solid.

If we're thinking of ways we could have won, I'd love to give McVay another kick at the can with this match-up.

Having Kupp would have been great. Kupp can catch contested throws and also is one of our most physical YAC receivers. But as I rewatch this game, our O-line didn't protect Goff, and Goff didn't make decisive and accurate throws when he did have time.

I'm not sure if it's play calls, or not reading the protection, but even when he had time, he looked lost on what to do with the ball

I think even without a healthy Gurley and Kupp, the Rams win if they would have played the short pass game and also keep Gurley and Anderson in as safety valves for Goff.

McVay was right in saying he was out coached because he didn't KEEP IT SIMPLE. He never gave Goff any hot reads and he didn't get him on the move with rollouts. Lastly...HE FORGOT Higbee and Everett. In short... He outsmarted himself.

I thought Reynolds would be able to take up some of the slack but maybe he doesn’t have the short area quickness to be that guy. I thought they would go to him rather than force the ball to Cooks.

Are you calling me over-emotional? Or are you just calling what's being said in the thread over-emotional.

Because I don't think I was over-emotional at all in what I said. I just had a strong difference in opinion in what you said.

I probably shouldn't have put different opinion (that might have been overly emotional).

If it is the thread, then I apologize in possibly misconstruing that statement.

Gordon hasn't been a factor anywhere in quite some time healthy or not. As far as Gronk goes he's a 29 year old TE who is wearing down. Them getting a Gronk in his prime or Josh Gordon from 6 years ago doesn't equate here if we're comparing the impact of current missing or injured starters.

Both teams were relatively healthy but Kupp was sorely missed and if TG was healthy CJ would have been getting Malcolm Brown-like carries in the playoffs.

That's a weird statement about Gordon. He was a huge factor in the Patriots offense this year and he too was "sorely missed" when he was gone.

I also didn't say anything about "Gronk in his prime". I'm not sure why you even added that.
