Snead can talk in funny ways, but I interpret this as we’re putting a little extra juice into this offseason… but probably not F-them-picks.
I interpret that as very aggressive in free agency and picks, but no big trade. The great thing about free agency is you don't have to trade draft picks and you control the money you spend too.

  1. Jaylen Watson...Tall CB and you can add a few others in the draft.
  2. Devin Lloyd...My kingdom for a LB that can cover.

This would be a great start to the offseason. Along with resigning key Rams FAs (e.g. Curl).

One could argue that for a team that plays a lot of zone defense the strategy could still work. But, they've just got to select and/or bring in players that are physical and can tackle. Especially, if the plan is to play guys 5-7 or so yards off the ball.

Forbes, Durant, Williams, Kendrick. C'mon. Stop bringing in these types of CBs and bring in some more physical players.
I don't care for the playing corners 5-7 yards off the ball either.
Better talent back there, a better LB group, along with a little more pressure up front might change McVay's and Shula's strategy.
Seems like it's just his defensive philosophy though, based on the history.

I'm at a lost as to why the Rams would want to trade for and then pay the 5'10 1/2" with sub 30" arms McDuffie vs. simply just signing his 6' 2" teammate with 32" arms in Jaylen Watson as a free agent for no trade compensation.
Because McDuffie has played at a much higher level? Sometimes people get too caught up in measurements. Ask AD how that worked out.

I'm on the bandwagon for signing Watson or Jamel Dean but even fans in KC recognize that Watson hasn't been nearly as good as McDuffie.

Great post! Totally agree. Not least, Devin Lloyd in our scheme

Im all for an aggressive ish’ offseason, but I’d prefer making a big trade at the deadline rather than the spring.

-Maximize FA via high impact player on defense.
-Add two pieces of elite skill position talent on offense.
-Focus the rest of the FA/Draft sources to strengthen the defense and special teams.

Focus on adding speed, athleticism to the entire roster.

Even if that were true, so much a higher level as to provide compensation for one vs. no compensation for the other?

FWIW, PFF ranks them similarly in coverage with Watson being higher rated vs. the run.

My first choice would be the free agent route with Watson (or Dean). But if that doesn't work, and the Rams trade for McDuffie, I'll be on board as they would be getting a better player.

I generally like PFF but I'm not gonna put their ranking above what I've heard from fans and media in the region.

Sure, the Rams know better than I.

But, I'd really like to know which one of them was left on a island more vs. having safety help over the top. My guess would be Watson, but I'm open to being wrong.

I don't know from observation but the local chatter from fans/media was that McDuffie was the person they left alone on an island. They're wondering if they retain Watson and trade McDuffie if Watson can do that job as well.

I'd love to make a smaller trade with a team that has an abundance of WRs that don't have a role. Someone like Dontayvion Wicks (Packers), Jalen McMillan (Buccaneers), Tank Dell (Texans).

Maybe you even swing a big trade for a Jack Bech (Raiders) for our second-round pick.

Maxx Crosby is available, but if they're expecting BY and a first, that's too rich for my blood. Jalen Ramsey is probably available on the cheap. If he's willing to restructure his deal, might be worth considering.

What do you feel is fair comp for Crosby?

Is there a big offseason trade for a star veteran player that the Rams could make? Will they trade any of those pics for such player?? Could Myles Garret be had for some pics.. or who’s available that could make an immediate impact in the secondary? Im sick as hell that the Rams are not playing tomorrow and already looking forward to free agency and the draft. Peace.

I think we need to get some ST players.

Most important thing the offense just needs to have a more killer instinct mentality. McVay at times played scaredy cat football, and falling into a trap by not taking points (field goals).

We have the team, there just some execution lapses on offense that I didn't expect to be there with all the experience on the offensive side of the ball... Although McVay coached well, some of his decisions may have kept the Rams out of the Super Bowl.
