Do we make a big trade as part of building our 2026 team?

If say the Jets and Steelers get into a bidding war, you could extract a couple extra top 75 picks for that pick, especially moving down to 21. Then maybe you could flip 21 for a player.

For moving back only 3 from 13 to 16, at best you get a 2nd, if there are other teams bidding for it. However, more likley a 3rd and a 4th or 5th, since only dropping 3 spots.

I do think its very possible an expensive trade for a vet could come after the draft, after June 1st, since it makes it easier for the trading team to move a high priced unhappy player.

So then it cones down to trading 27' picks when you might need a QB. That's why it's tough balancing the future needs vs all in. It would be great if Stafford can say he fully wants to play at least 2 more years. Takes a little pressure off of getting a QB.
I'd rather have Lemon or Delane at 13 than 2 later picks. Just me though give me the stud instead of 2 lesser players.

Unpopular opinion but I'd move Byron Young for an older pass rusher with a higher floor. He's due a huge contract soon anyways. I'd try to swap him and a pick for Crosby.
Isn't that vet pass rusher already on a bigger contract or also due one?

Someone else posted that Seattle already offered 2 1sts and the Raiders turned it down. I expect that situation to get sticky if not ugly before there’s any resolution.

The Rams tend to draft in bunches and I think we’ll draft as many as 3 CBs this draft depending on how the draft falls to us and the grades we ultimately give guys.

There’s not a Ramsey we can go all in on and even if it were possible to get a Crosby or Garrett, they’d cost much more than BY for nominally better production when we may get better value from a few veteran CBs. That said, I sure wouldn’t be upset if we did get Crosby (I can’t imagine any scenario we get Garrett after he just broke the single season sack record. Not even Cleveland could fuck that up…well…nah…).

I’d be great with McSnead focusing on CB and OL with ann Adams replacement in the mix.

We’re so close, I think we just need more consistency and better play from the back 7 and we’re there.

With what Snead mentioned about “attacking the secondary”, it makes me think the McDuffie trade is highly likely.

I’ve also been seeing the Rams tied to Crosby but that seems a lot less likely imho.

The only trades I would consider are trades that make us better immediately.
With M.S-9 announcing his desire to return it would seem the only goal should be the Lombardi in 27'.
I draft, trade, and add free agents to fulfil our singleness of purpose to hoist the Lombardi @ SoFi in 27'.

Crosby has a $30 million base salary plus $782,000 per game roster bonus.

I question if Young sees anything close to that kind of money and he offers much needed speed on defense.

Besides, the Raiders would probably ask for Verse since he has two years plus a potential rookie option bonus year left.

My assumption would be that the Jets and Steelers potential bidding war would be for a QB.
And if so, their target would probably be a team selecting ahead of the Rams. Not with the team who potentially might take a QB, too.

I’d be ok with moving BYoung if his end of season drop was attributed mostly to lack of execution (vs an injury). Anybody have any insight?

If the Rams don’t use aR1 pick on a receiving weapon then I’d like them to add someone like Alec Pierce or Wan’Dale Robinson. Make sure Staff has his weapons.

Also - gotta improve STs from bottom 5 to top 15 at least.

I think the huge trade will be in 2027.

Three things gotta happen:
1. Burrow sees his career slipping away, and utilizes whatever leverage he can to push for a trade to the Rams.
2. Rams recognize that the timing is perfect and are willing to put a huge offer on the table.
3. Bengals are convinced that forcing Burrow to stay and be unhappy isn't workable, so they agree to Rams huge offer.

IMO, Burrow wants to be a Ram. Burrow is miserable in Cincy and sees the parallel in how Stafford rescued his career in LA after Detroit. Burrow has his tens of millions in the bank-- now he wants to ENJOY his career, just like Stafford has for the last 5 years.

Only question is, would Burrow be willing to threaten a holdout in order to help coerce the Bengals into accepting a huge offer from Rams?

I think there's at least a 50-50 chance this blockbuster trade will happen. Just makes so much sense. Burrow wants out, and Rams know he'd be a perfect fit.

What would we need to give up for McDuffie?
I'm at a lost as to why the Rams would want to trade for and then pay the 5'10 1/2" with sub 30" arms McDuffie vs. simply just signing his 6' 2" teammate with 32" arms in Jaylen Watson as a free agent for no trade compensation.
