The plan is to get under the cap, lose only 1 game instead of 2 next year to the 9ers, win at least 2 more games than last year and luck into a playoff game. go rams!

So far we have lost 2 of the 4 best defensive players and asking a top wr to look elsewhere and potentially trading the best CB in football along with the Superbowl winning QB that is not a plan that is a tear down. Even if Stafford and Ramsey remain it is still hard to see the plan I to the future. Outside of Kupp and AD and Big Rob there is no reliable players left imo. Scary!

Its looking more and more like 2023 is gonna be a lean year. I think the plan is limit how long the lean times will be here. There will be sacrifices in the short term. So they can set themselves up better in the long term.

The plan is in the Draft. 4 compensatory picks, 3 5th rounders and a seventh.
So 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder, 3 5th's, 3 6th's and 2 7th rounders. 10 picks total. That's the plan it would appear and they can add further picks with a Ramsey trade.
So hope & a prayer lol

Who knows what they are planning but nothing except Floyd and Wagner being gone has really happened cut wise. Stay tuned I guess.

Snead kind of said what the plan is. They will have 20 plus picks in 23' & 24'. Aka, cheap labor.

He alluded to solidifying the offense this yr and let McVay cook so to speak. So that could possibly include adding a few key cheap vet FA's and a few rookies to the offense.

Then add a lot of youth on defense to be aggressive and hopefully make a few plays while the offense returns to being at least a top 8 to 10 offense. In a weak NFC that may get you 10 wins and a WC.

In 2024, a lot of cap room, add some splashy FAs, more youth in 24' draft, maybe a trade or two, and hopefully 22' & 23' draftees are making an impact.

So now you have a real contender in 24'.

Yeah they know it's gonna be tough this year. But I suspect they were unhappy with their culture too, I mean you have all these well paid vets and you're losing. Doesn't matter that it's in large part due to injuries either, as this is a bottom line business. So in preparation for this season maybe you look ahead and say "why not bite the bullet now and get back to a hungry roster."

The great thing here for us is that McVay might still win games with that type of a team. Won't do anything significant but if we win more than we lose and maybe make the playoffs I'm good. Because I know there's a plan going forward and the right people mostly in place.

To be clear, I wasn't trying to dump on Bruss. I have just never been as high on him as other Badger linemen in the past. In fact, I would trade him straight-up for Tippmann. I suspect Tippman is going to rise in the draft process, potentially into the mid-upper half of the second round. Tippmann is a guy that's been impressive from the time he walked on campus.

I haven't read into any post in this thread that comes off as dumping on Bruss. I am replying even though I think you are likely reffering to @oldnotdead. I think you and I share a common concern and for me what I have seen from Bruss at the NFL level is what concerned me at the collegient level. He could play tougher as an over simplification

#1-Plan is ....To make every effort possible to keep #9 healthy and effective for the very long term.

Thus all unit coaches (offense & defense), ensure their units' efforts work at all times towards meeting this overall #1 Ram plan first.

I think the plan is to go all-out again in 2024.

But they can't say that out loud. Don't want to admit 2023 is for the remodel.

If true, such a shitty deal for Stafford and AD. Luckily Kupp is not up there in the age to be as affected.

Realistically, how many teams in the league can say they are all in for 23"?

Even in Philly fans are realizing that they will take a step back and 23' will be a retooling...that is the word they are using.

BTW, I have heard the same strategy expressed by the writers covering the Eagles. They are losing something like 7 or 8 defensive starters to FA. They look to be trading Slay because he has $27M cap hit and they have very little restructuring room left.

So they say this yr is about stacking the offense and rebuilding the defense and hoping that's enough to just get to the playoffs.

The one big advantage they have is that they have a young QB. Problem is he is going to get $50M a yr starting next season and next season will likley be his last with a still decent cap hit. In 24' it likely explodes even more so.

Seems like the Rams are losing a lot of key players so far this offseason! Just wondering if the Rams have some kind of Surprise/Huge Plan to replace these players or it is all just Salary Cap moves that have to be made!

I a certainly hoping that Les Snead and the Rams have some plans to adequately replace the players that they are losing OR it could be some rough seasons ahead for the Rams and us Rams Fans!!
Of Course they have a Plan. How could you think otherwise?

Now, whether it is a Good Plan, I have no fucking idea.

Trust me, I get the logic but doesn't change the fact it's a shitty deal for AD and Stafford if we can't truly compete for a chip in 23, but are truly looking to reload in 24.
