Agreed as I'm an Old Fashion type of guy made with Maker's....The first three are on me.
I was just reminding myself the bottle of Makers might not make it through tonight. It’s time to get a new one and maybe a Bulliet as well.

McDaniels is going to want his own people and although he has a losing record after an epic fail in Denver, people treat him like he's Red Blake. Anyway Jimmy Haslam loves him and for the Browns sake I hope McDaniels turns them down, but if they hire him, McDaniels is going to want his own personnel guy and Dorsey would be done in Cleveland IMHO.

Wow that would be a monumental mistake to give McDaniels the ability to get rid of Dorsey.

But the Haslem's are known fr doing dumb shit.

You could be right on Callahan and he will have his choice of jobs and maybe in the end the Rams will end up with somebody like LaFleur or Olson, however, I have a feeling McVay and Callahan have a good rapport and the opportunity to work together have the OC Tag and be part of something special along with being paid handsomely might swing his decision, we shall see. I only brought up Callahan because he can flat out coach a running game and they have worked together in the past...This was awesome BTW and I only wish we were having a conversation together enjoying our beverage of choice.
Callahan will definitely be in high demand but I am certain McVay is on a very short list for his ideal job maybe even the only "short list." Also I think you are correct in the value of titles but one of the reasons McVay is on that short list for him is because they have enjoyed working together run scheming and judging from our gameplanning this season that is an area where McVay also wants to improve. So IMO it's not about the title with him/McVay although that certainly does matter and factor in.

Secondly I think you need to give up your fantasy of him slotting in over Kromer. Fact is that the Rams' offseason plan was either cooked up by Kromer or stamped with his approval and his name is all over that failure. Also as I have alluded to I personally am not happy with the run scheme irt how they fit it to their opponents this year (they were outschemed far too often which made things even worse behind a cobbled together OL). Kromer meanwhile has done good things with us and will be unemployed for approximately 5 minutes if that. But if McVay is serious about accountability he is going to have a new OL coach this year particularly if a talent like BC is available.

Of course this comes down to the question of whether the Skins keep BC around. Which is no given as Snyder is a loon and no telling what he'll do the dude changes his mind walking into the building.

Re: Gruden I haven't really given him a lot of emphasis as an OC hire for one reason: he was McVay's mentor and adding a mentor after a down year is a mix of strange and uncomfortable possibilities for our young HC. McVay isn't the same guy he was as an eager beaver under Gruden, he's now a seasoned head coach himself. Also and perhaps more importantly what McVay needs is more run game expertise, he and Gruden are both well steeped in that branch of the WCO in the passing game.

The Browns' roster talent is significant. It's an unfocused and undisciplined gold mine of talent. So I could see McDaniels jump at that job figuring he'll be able to win and establish himself as a HC even if things sour with Haslem.

But if it were me I would not work for Haslem. I would rather slog along as a secure OC until the right boss makes an offer.

Unless he gave me total autonomy because if I win in Cleveland I'm a God and considering my favorite marvel comic is Thor, well, you get it.

They won't hire Gruden as Head Coach, no way they hire a guy with a record of 35-49-1 they can't take the PR Hit. I've been saying that McCarthy should be their target, however, he and Dorsey actually don't have a good rapport. I do believe the Browns need a Veteran Head Coach, but not one with a losing record or Josh McDaniels because of the name and being a local Ohio guy, but I will believe that when I see it.

If the Browns hire Josh McDaniels they will fire John Dorsey and that would be a mistake IMO., and McCarthy should be the easy choice for the Browns, but the Haslem's never do anything easy and they are infatuated with McDaniels so get ready, I hope McDaniels turns them down and then they go with McCarthy, but highly doubtful.
I dont see McDaniels going anywhere.
He has opportunities every year and turns them down.
There may be a handshake deal in NE, that the HC job is his when Bill hangs it up.

Yeah but that doesn't always work out the way the assistant thinks it will. Not sure I'd want to follow the greatest coach ever in New England, let some other poor sod take that on.

Replacing a great sucks. Remember Richie Petitbon replacing Joe Gibbs? Hand picked by Gibbs too lol. Was a dumpster fire.

In addition, Bill may have planned on a retirement date, but could decide that he wants to stay another year or two.

Now that sounds like a job for Jeff Fisher ...
