I just find it unbecoming when Head Coaches cry during a press conference.

For the record I love Vermeil, but did not like his crying as well.

GO RAMS!!!

I maintain that your QB cannot be the weakest link on offense. That’s the Lions right now. It’s a problem in the playoffs. Adding “more” elsewhere is a bandaid. The Rams realized this.

Said it before and I'll say it again. If Stafford was on this version of the Detroit Lions they'd win the Superbowl. Hopefully he can win with this version of the Los Angeles Rams.

Right - Lions don't lose that game if not for all the injuries on defense.

This notion that Goff cannot win a Super Bowl is insane. Much lesser, MUCH MUCH lesser, QB's have. And Warner had multiple subpar passing games in the playoffs when with the Rams.
Bro, it's not silly.
Having that spark. Being clutch when everything is against you is a magical thing. If you have Ray Lewis defense then you can probably do it, but then again, maybe not. It's not 2001 anymore and Trent Dilfer won't win it for you.

I am aware. Hutch is the difference maker in that group. But I don't think they have enough on that side of the ball. Give Goff a great defense and they're in business.
All they had to do was hold Washington to 21 points (taking account the 7 points Goff gave up)

That's loser talk.

Campbell is gonna go apeshit on the defense and they'll be strongly in the mix next playoffs.

Who can they realistically get to replace him while their window is open? The likelihood that someone they draft will be up to speed before the cap crunch of all their recent high draft picks starts to limit them is exceedingly small. Who is available for trade that is better than him?

I get that you in particular have a burning hatred for Goff, but the reality of the situation is what it is, as posted in the paragraph above. Their best bet, barring the lack of somebody clearly better becoming available, is to continue building that team (especially on the D side) and hoping they don't get the Goff they got last night once they get to January. That model worked for the Ravens with Trent Dilfer, it worked for the Redskins with Mark Rypien, it worked for the Bucs with Brad Johnson. And at least for next year, it's the best chance they've got.

I think the Lions win that game if they kept half of their defense going on IR even knowing how bad Goff was last night.

They still scored 31 points.

Crazy idea on defense. Barkley will just run the ball down our throats, put Reeder in to do nothing but crash head on into Barkley whether he has the ball or not on every play. Roseboom doesn't have enough sand in his shorts.

They're a regular season champion because they don't have the horses on defense to get it done, and their DC isn't up to snuff. If Campbell doesn't make moves to fix those things he is going to make a name for himself getting knocked out of the playoffs.

It's much easier to build a roster to get to the playoffs than to build it to win the title. Their path to the title requires a strong defensive offseason.

The Lions are a great example of how the window is never as big as you think it is. This current core of Les, McVay, Stafford, etc is a blessing and we should treat it as such. There’s no one else I’d rather go to war with tomorrow.
A great QB is always an important part of the core.

That said, I like our basic infrastructure we have in place with Snead and McVay. Even when Stafford retires, I feel we'll always be competitive with the leagues top 3, if not #1, GM/HC combo.
