Shanny lacks leadership skills. The story of him leaving the draft room in a huff after getting ribbed by his asst coaches... I mean that's a really bad example of how to handle shit.

Injuries have been a problem for sure. But if you aren't on top of your game in leadership you're not gonna succeed as a head coach.

I think Shanny is the best OC in the NFL. But as a HC he comes up a bit short compared to the top guys.

Re: McVay all he's gotta do is win it all. Championships are the metric. Nice thing with him is that he seems to get the most from his talent, so it's a question of him getting the right roster from the GM and also hoping that young HC mistakes don't sink him in the big games.

My fear is that we're the training wheels team for McVay. That he'll move on to another team and win all his championships there. Hope Stan is ready to prevent that from happening by keeping this guy happy for a long time.

This may be a dumb take on my part, but i wonder how much Shanahan's family tree has to do with the amount of rope he's getting (and will continue to get) in SF and in league circles.

The injuries have been a big factor but does random head coach Joe Blow get the same rope with the same amount of injuries? I don't think so.

I think he and Lynch are now tied to their bright and shiny new QB. If/when he's deemed a bust they go with Lance.

Losing creates it's own adversity. I know the niners have been decimated by injuries, and I feel really bad about that (not), but I just love it every time they lose. I am hoping the losses continue to pile up until they fire Shanahan and John Lynch. After the way the Rams have lost against them over the past 2 years, I hope the Rams crush them twice this year, just to make up for it.

They will let McVay walk in favor of what other coach out there?

I can’t think of anyone that they’d be willing to let him walk in exchange for.

I was talking to a friend who's a whiners fan. I told him Shanahan isn't all that. He had one good season plus 3 losing seasons. Right now they sit at 2-3 and things aren't looking that great for them (not that I care).

I also believe the whiners lost the super bowl because Shanahan was too worried about eating up the clock instead of trying to put nails in the coffin.

The only part that sucks is he's been good at giving us tough games. That changes this season.
