Draft BPA at a position where there's some need (whether that's in the future or now). There are some guys I have my eye on for when I start evaluating. There is one DT I am very excited to evaluate.
Is said DT Dexter Lawrence? Because that's the guy on my radar.
Nope. He's a guy you won't like due to an incident in high school.![]()
First round's gonna be fun.
Re: DL I look at all the talent and it just seems like there's too many for all of them to be snapped up. Just a really good chance "that guy who slides" will be a DL, maybe more than one as well. I know, still early, but this class just damn.
*sigh* It seems like all of my favorites have incidents. Youhanna Ghaifan got arrested for rape and kidnapping, so I dropped him off of my board.
What does Dexter Lawrence have?
Lawrence is fine. The guy I'm talking about is Jeff Simmons from MSU. He's blown me away when I've watched him this year. I think he'd be a special player at NT in our scheme.
Ah, yes. Simmons. I doubt he falls out of the top ten, even with the scrutiny of domestic violence. If Frank Clark can go in the second round, I highly doubt that Simmons falls out of the top ten for doing less.
I think Simmons will fall because of the lack of sack production and the talent at DT. Keep in mind that Ed Oliver and Quinnen Williams both look like top 10 picks at DT. Plus, you have Nick Bosa. That leaves Simmons competing with a bunch of talented guys to go in the mid to late first.
Honestly, I think Lawrence is more likely to fall than Simmons. He could be seen as a two-down nose tackle and doesn't have the sack numbers either. I think that he'd be a hell of a pick at #32, though; his run defense is amazing, and he's so quick for a 340 lbs. man. Reminds me of Dontari Poe.
That's true. Testing will matter for him. I haven't started evaluating yet, so I don't have any opinion on Lawrence. He flashed in the past, but with guys like him, you've gotta key in on them to see how they are from snap to snap.
BPA on D to me.
Could be DL, LB or DB.
Snead traded away our only present 3rd rd selection already dang. Rams do stand a good chance of being awarded 3rd rd.(Watkins) & 4th rd.(Tru Johnson) as compensation picks. Thus Rams will have only 2 selections 1stFirst two days of the draftR1 Draft Pick likely reserved for a top CB to replace Talib after another year.
R3 Draft Picks (3 projected) being used to shore up ILB and DL (Barron and Suh likely gone). Kiser and Franklin-Myers hopefully taking on more substantial roles as well.
Joyner to be replaced with a solid FS FA at a much lower cost than his franchise tag (Boston, maybe Thomas).
Then maybe add another backup QB and continue to feed the OL with any remaining Draft Picks.
Then extend Saffold, Fowler, Littleton and Brown (if reasonable).

I hope I am wrong. I would be :yay:if we get lucky & end up with two 3rd round Comp picksThe experts I've seen say that Johnson will likely net a 3rd rounder. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...jecting-compensatory-picks-for-2019-nfl-draft
Why do you think he'll net a 4th?

Trumaine Johnson has missed half the season with injuries. That's an element that is taken into consideration.

Compensatory Picks:
- These picks are determined at the league\'s annual meeting before the draft and are given to teams that in the previous year\'s free agency period have lost more or better free agent players than they gained.
- This highly confidential formula, created by the NFL Management Council, is based on players\' salaries, playing time, post-season awards, and the net amount of free agents lost versus free agents signed.
