Am I the only noticing that Whitworth is starting to get beat, especially in the second half? IDK if Noteboom is a Notebust but we must have a LT who can keep Jared upright. Otherwise we'll be 7-9 again.

Draft BPA at a position where there's some need (whether that's in the future or now). There are some guys I have my eye on for when I start evaluating. There is one DT I am very excited to evaluate.

Is said DT Dexter Lawrence? Because that's the guy on my radar.

First round's gonna be fun.

Re: DL I look at all the talent and it just seems like there's too many for all of them to be snapped up. Just a really good chance "that guy who slides" will be a DL, maybe more than one as well. I know, still early, but this class just damn.

Nope. He's a guy you won't like due to an incident in high school. ;)

*sigh* It seems like all of my favorites have incidents. Youhanna Ghaifan got arrested for rape and kidnapping, so I dropped him off of my board.

What does Dexter Lawrence have?

Gotta agree. It looks like the deep positions this year in the first/second round range will be interior DL and edge rusher. Just off the top of my head, you have:
Nick Bosa EDGE
Ed Oliver Interior
Quinnen Williams Interior
Josh Allen EDGE
Zach Allen EDGE/Interior
Clelin Farrell EDGE
Jachai Polite EDGE
Christian Wilkins Interor
Dexter Lawrence Interior
Jeff Simmons Interior
Brian Burns EDGE
Dre'Mont Jones Interior
Rashan Gary Interior
Montez Sweat EDGE
Jalen Jelks EDGE
Jerry Tillery Interior
Oshane Ximines EDGE

That's a lot of depth.

Lawrence is fine. The guy I'm talking about is Jeff Simmons from MSU. He's blown me away when I've watched him this year. I think he'd be a special player at NT in our scheme.

Ah, yes. Simmons. I doubt he falls out of the top ten, even with the scrutiny of domestic violence. If Frank Clark can go in the second round, I highly doubt that Simmons falls out of the top ten for doing less.

I think Simmons will fall because of the lack of sack production and the talent at DT. Keep in mind that Ed Oliver and Quinnen Williams both look like top 10 picks at DT. Plus, you have Nick Bosa. That leaves Simmons competing with a bunch of talented guys to go in the mid to late first.

Honestly, I think Lawrence is more likely to fall than Simmons. He could be seen as a two-down nose tackle and doesn't have the sack numbers either. I think that he'd be a hell of a pick at #32, though; his run defense is amazing, and he's so quick for a 340 lbs. man. Reminds me of Dontari Poe.

That's true. Testing will matter for him. I haven't started evaluating yet, so I don't have any opinion on Lawrence. He flashed in the past, but with guys like him, you've gotta key in on them to see how they are from snap to snap.

Also, I'm wondering about your thoughts on Mizzou tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. He's my prospect crush (as you probably know from my thread). I think that he and Everett could be a hell of a combo. :D

BPA on D to me.
Could be DL, LB or DB.

^^this.
Suh, Barron, and Joyner are all probably gone.
The Rams have a few young guys who need seasoning or might not work out at all, but the brain trust will have to sit and evaluate those players at season's end.

R1 Draft Pick likely reserved for a top CB to replace Talib after another year.

R3 Draft Picks (3 projected) being used to shore up ILB and DL (Barron and Suh likely gone). Kiser and Franklin-Myers hopefully taking on more substantial roles as well.

Joyner to be replaced with a solid FS FA at a much lower cost than his franchise tag (Boston, maybe Thomas).

Then maybe add another backup QB and continue to feed the OL with any remaining Draft Picks.

Then extend Saffold, Fowler, Littleton and Brown (if reasonable).

Snead traded away our only present 3rd rd selection already dang. Rams do stand a good chance of being awarded 3rd rd.(Watkins) & 4th rd.(Tru Johnson) as compensation picks. Thus Rams will have only 2 selections 1stFirst two days of the draft:(.

I agree Outside CB is the #1 priority going into this draft ! Why ?...Snead will have six DB's involved in free agency in 3 months. Sam Shields, Troy Hill, Dom Hatfield & Kevin Peterson plus safety Joyner & Countess. Will the Rams be willing to take a cap hit of of over $9 million to endure watching Marcus Peters starting @ corner again in 2019? Veteran Aqib Talib will be 33 yrs old in 2 months & only finished 2 games this season & he is not getting younger. Talib was a cap hit cost of $11 million. Do I need to bring up just how poorly this elite secondary has played this season?

However With only 2 selctions in the first & 2nd days of the draft you will be insane not to go with the draft plan to select the best player available in a large cadre of needs....examples are....NT/ MLB/ CB/ FS/ ER/ QB/ LT.

The experts I've seen say that Johnson will likely net a 3rd rounder. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...jecting-compensatory-picks-for-2019-nfl-draft
Why do you think he'll net a 4th?
I hope I am wrong. I would be :yay:if we get lucky & end up with two 3rd round Comp picks

https://overthecap.com/the-basics-and-methodology-of-projecting-the-nfls-compensatory-draft-picks/

Trumaine Johnson has missed half the season with injuries. That's an element that is taken into consideration.

https://www.draftsite.com/nfl/rules/
Compensatory Picks:
  • These picks are determined at the league\'s annual meeting before the draft and are given to teams that in the previous year\'s free agency period have lost more or better free agent players than they gained.
  • This highly confidential formula, created by the NFL Management Council, is based on players\' salaries, playing time, post-season awards, and the net amount of free agents lost versus free agents signed.

Here's a chart that does a nice job of illustrating why we should get a 3rd:
https://overthecap.com/compensatory-draft-picks-cancellation-chart/

Tru's APY is the 4th highest among players not cancelled out (behind Cousins, Watkins, and Solder). Here are their projections:

Actually we traded our highest 3rd round comp pick... that was reported for the Fowler trade.

I want to see us drop down into the early 2nd to pick up an early 3rd.

Then we still get 4 top 100 picks...

CB, DT, ILB, S or OG.... or double up on DL. Obviously depends on who is available and FA
