Another rough outing for Kendrick. Not sure how they can keep trotting him out there with the recent gun charges added on top of it. You have to think such a move is bad for morale in the locker-room. What must the players behind him be thinking? I don't think we can just assume that Kendrick is showing himself to be the superior player in practice. It is possible but I do not think we can just assume it. This defensive staff has developed a bit of a trend, over the past few years, of starting players that are not performing very well, and when injuries force them to make a change, the replacement players prove to be upgrades.
Not sure about the morale thing.

Another Rams player was robbed at gunpoint.. so maybe the team letting him play was taken as a positive.

I'd still take Durant over Kendrick. Durant has long-speed to recover, is a better cover-corner than people give him credit for, and he just isn't a fit for the STAR position; he's not physical enough for it. Put him on the outside, tell him to cover, try to pick off passes, and you're going to see his rookie-year form.

I will not forgive Kendrick for this game. It's one thing to screw up in a blowout like he did against Jerry Jeudy and the Broncos. It's one thing to get arrested. It's one thing to have confidence.

It's another thing to screw up in a close game, to make the same mistakes he made in college, and act like a yappy little dog who did something spectacular when he's done nothing to earn it.
Memento, hear me.... ~ Kendrick

He is SO Not.
Agreed. He crumbles under pressure resulting in game changing plays contributing to 3 or 4 losses.

The kid has some talent for sure. But it may takes years to correct his technique. That is not good in the NFL (not for long) League.

I personally don't think Durant has the ability to play in this league either.

It's like we have our new iteration of Long jr. and Rapp. Guys that get targeted in critical moments and always break the integrity of the defense resulting in losses.

Kendrick actually isn't graded out that poorly on PFF.
Just looking at what an objective 3rd party says.

His grade kind of indicates to me he's doing pretty well, overall, but has made some critical mistakes repeatedly. Can he fix those? Because a lot of his play has been solid?

And that is the problem with stats and rankings. Everybody makes mistakes. It is when and how bad.
It is probable that opposing OCs knowing his weaknesses, attack them when it is most important to succeed.

I think that's a fair response.

I just don't know that anyone on the roster is better, overall.. at least at this point. I've been very disappointed in Durant.

They seem so opposed to giving Shelley a legit chance to be the starter. He was pretty dang solid in Minnesota last year and seems like the obvious choice
I do wonder why Shelley was available. I mean.. two teams dropped him in less than a year.

Kendrick's prob is he has a high floor but a low ceiling. And that alludes to it being difficult for him to be more than a short term answer.
