I concur. I'll throw all of my current ROD Dollars on Sam Darnold succeeding. The only snag is what defines "succeeding". Let's fucking go! @flv please.

Darnold with those weapons and a better OL than the Jets should have a much improved season.
I think he could have a surprisingly good year. Lets see what they do at 8, You know it will be O

Pitts would be perfect for him. Darnold doesn’t have that big arm. He makes the throws, but he is better longer with the ball.Having an outlet like Pitts would what the Dr. ordered.

It’s the most highly coveted position... and every team who needs/needed a QB knew Darnold would be available for trade... but a lot of GM’s passed on trading for him.

He’s young. But that’s a lot of talent observers taking a pass.

I haven’t seen much of the Jets. But the void of trade offers stand out.

Thought about this a well when it compares about QB’s.My thoughts go back to Jared Goff as a rookie & then thinking about Darnold at SOFI.
Goff is still a young QB as well. The Rams losing to the Jets where I believe Sam Darnold was the difference. Then SC vs Cal.
Both QB’s will be in the NFC.Wentz moves AFC.Jalen Hurt will be in the NFC.I thought he had value with The Rams 2nd pick. A RB was The Rams biggest need though in 2020.I also think Justin Fields will have a longer career than Hurt.
These 2021 QB’s are an interesting group. Is Lawrence The Best ??

Not sufficient enough. Besides isn't Robby still with CAR or is he unsigned, 1 year "prove it" last season? Just want an effort response. It's too hard for you, no problem ROD Vet, you must be near retirement or just let bad food lower your energy level.

That’s a shit show. Cutler towards the end really regressed &’was one of the highest paid QB’s - good research!

The site of Mahomes makes Bears Fans sick.

just saw some darnold highlights and he can do anything zach wilson has shown. Against the niners, he avoids an interior rush that would have sacked goff, escapes the DT's full grasp of his jersey, rolls left, then throws cross body to a receiver 30 yards downfield who is running towards the right side of the field. Touchdown.

If I'm the jets, I would have traded with the niners or another team then traded up like miami did.

Get pitts or chase with your early first pick then use your mid 1sr rounder to trade down and grab your running back, N. harris from ala or williams from NC followed by 2, 2nd round oline additions to complement the impressive becton. Add another receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round and one in FA and that offense, minus coach gates, becomes so much better.

That's due to you being lazy. I've seen you on here for years many years (several well spoken replies-input) yet your go to is simple Gifs that mean nothing but a cop out or 3-4 word conclusions. You are entitled to that.

Awesome response. Few things; re: Stafford you said he made too many mistakes off the field? He did? We all know Stafford never had a running game to speak of that's a fact. How is the play action ever established if you don't have that. Poor scouting-drafting on RBs, or remember when that Billy Bob Cooton, sorry I don't recall his exact name was the "next Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan?" Yeah I think he's like a TE coach now. I could be wrong.

Collins if you meant Kerry for Giants and Ravens (again off memory) had an average career. I believe Sam Darnold now will strive into above average to me that's successful. It will happen this season too.

despite the lack of a running game I recently saw nfl network post 4 play action stats, comp %, yards per comp pass, td's and int's, stafford was significantly better overall and better in 3 of the 4 categories. I tried to find the exact numbers but couldn't. I do remember being pleasantly surprised at the time and thinking that our play action will be even better.

I was thinking this was the move after FA bfor the Panthers and it makes sense.

This is a great move for Sam Darnold to. He has talent and potential, he was lacking an organization, coaching and pieces around him to be successful.

I can see them challenging for the NFC South starting 2 years from now and be serious contenders after that in the NFC of the GM keeps making good to great moves.

^ I bet they compete this season with Brady and all. Just my opinion. I see the Aint's sinking and Falcons simply slipping (they gotta long way to go). Gotta love the NFL!

Right I get that OC Cordinator from Detroit! Right excellent post reply.
Made me have think back.

Darnel — F”. Darnold actually!! Just my thing. I’m a HATER,just in the FACT he will make it. — Jared Goff ? I’d actually hope Darnold has a better career. Get that. I guess I must be a hater.
-will be interesting

Yeah - playing for Jeff Fisher was not all that good to him.I always wonder.
What if ED29 wouldn’t have kicked him out the the NFL. -Jared Goff’s career ?
-I think coaching has a lot to do with
a QB??

-Kerry Collins was tough. I wonder what Joey P that about him.Good thing
he didn’t play defense.He did well in Collin a #5pick. Had a drinking problem.Giants - SuperBowl (Goff).
SC vs Cal -

This is the best thing that can happen to Darnold. He was the punching bag for poor coaching and an inept FO. This is his time to show he is as good as many thought he was during his draft. Everyone assumes that SF will take a QB in this draft. but their #2 QB right now is Josh Rosen who is a big sleeper. Given a proper offensive scheme for him and a decent team around him he could blossom in the same way Darnold might with the Panthers. He's a very good fit for their offense.

So what if the Niners traded up for someone else other than a QB? What if they are actually looking at an edge rusher like Paye or Oweh. Combined with Bosa on the other side that would give them a damn good 4 man pass rush. Both of those guys are freaks and game-changers. The reason I say this is because the bust factor with high first round QB picks is significant. To use all that draft capital on a QB and not even get the top guy makes me wonder. A rookie edge rusher can be an impact player as a rookie, which a QB rarely is. To use that draft capital for a QB that is going to sit at least one year means they can't afford him to bust.

As a Ram fan, I hope they do go with a QB. Either one of those guys would toast Havenstein who can't handle speed and power. In this division, if you don't have a defense to challenge the opposing QB you aren't winning it. It's amazing how one injury-shortened season and people assume he's done. In 2019 he had a very good season getting them to the SB and now a year later everyone wants to dump him?

What that SB showed is that they needed more from their defense. They look at the Rams who are loaded on defense and it starts with a dominant front 4 pass rush. That's why it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they went edge with their first round pick.
