The only explanation I can come up with is they all just assumed it wouldn't make it ten yards which would be an automatic penalty on Cowboys if they touched it first. So they were scared to touch it first and possibly get hit and fumble. But all of them should have been lunging at that ball when it was within a couple yards of crossing that ten yard mark. Just really bad coaching there not having at least one of those five players know wtf they should have done. Truly pathetic.

Yeah, they were perplexed by the whole thing. Still not sure why they just didn't tattoo the Cowboys that were slowly following the ball so others could fall on it without fear of the spin. It's the kicking team that worries about the 10 yards...

The Rams will be lucky if Sloman doesn't cost them at least one game. His kicks are inconsistent meaning his technique isn't NFL ready. He's missed a kick in both games, both of them chipshots. He short kicked a KO in this game which was run back close to midfield. What saved him was a holding penalty on the Birds. Two bad kicks in a game tells you all you need to know that his technique is crap. I predicted the block last week when two of his kicks were very low. Any other position and he would be benched or cut. For those who think the fix wasn't in to keep Sloman look at how poorly he's been kicking. They released Greg for less. Want him to have a chance? That is what the PS is for, not the active roster.

This is now the second game in a row Hill played like crap. He's too freaking slow to be a CB. He has average long speed but he lacks the required acceleration. He's not even being asked to play man and he's still can't defend anyone. Time to release Hill and play Burgess. Releasing Hill will clear almost $3M in cap.

Staley's bend not break only works if your team scores TDs not FGs and if they don't make mistakes like costly penalties or fumbles. Staley's defense looks better than it is because the opposition has been playing from behind. His zone looks better the closer to the red zone they get backed up but that's basically conceding FGs. The Rams got lucky against Dallas when they went for on 4th down instead of tying the game.

Staley continues to play Sebas leaving the middle soft against the run. He continues to play Hill who has had two consecutive poor games. At this point I would rather see Rapp than Johnson if Staley continues to want to play Fuller. By benching Rapp that fool Staley is retarding Rapps development when it's obvious that Johnson won't be on the team next year. Yeah I called him out because he's done nothing to clean up the issues that he admitted they had. Staley is trying to emulate the Charger secondary. But what he doesn't see is that they turn their front 7 loose while he tries to play not to lose. He's no better than Wade in that he has talent on the team he isn't using. Wade did to Ebukam last year what Staley is doing to Rapp this year, yeah I'm no fan of Staley at this point. This game should never have been as close as it was for as long as it was. Staley's conservative non-attacking defense kept the Eagles in the game. Mark my words sooner or later it will cost them a win.

I agree with most of this. I am not a Seabass fan. I don’t understand you wanting Rapp over JJ. JJ is a good player. Rapp has been replaced by Fuller. It’s on Rapp. And Troy Hill needing to be replaced by Burgess, who none of us has seen in the NFL? Usually when players don’t start then there is a reason. Fuller outplayed Rapp. Burgess may be JJ’s replacement next year, not this year. I don’t think he was drafted to replace Hill. In the past McVay has been slow to give rookies playing time. I’d say that’s a possibility with Burgess, but he’s gone away from that this year. Akers, Jefferson, and Fuller all starting tells me that the rookies stepped up in practice.

I admit I didn’t like the Rapp pick. He’s agood player but safeties can be found later and Snead proved it this year. Ditto with Everett at TE. That’s two second round picks they won’t get back that could possibly be a NT, OLB, Corner, or Center.

I had some know it all on reddit telling me that "in hindsight it's easy to call for a falcons player to jump on it because you know the outcome. had they jumped on it they would have risked not securing it correctly and losing the ball." Yeah, ok sure maybe for the first 5-6 yards. When it's rolled 8-9 fuckin' yards with no signs of slowing down, JUMP ON THE BALL! It's 50/50 at that point, better odds than just letting it roll the 10 with multiple defenders around the ball. That's the type of dumb shit that gets a coach fired.

Holy shit that is a negative post for a game which we won by 18 points (Which was tied for the 2nd largest margin of victory in the NFL this week).

Yeah Mike McCarthy making decisions left and right that should have cost them this game. His go for it on 4th last week may have lost that one. He's on a roll.

After seeing him whine about the OPI I decided he's actually a step down from Jason Garrett...
