The Rams will be lucky if Sloman doesn't cost them at least one game. His kicks are inconsistent meaning his technique isn't NFL ready. He's missed a kick in both games, both of them chipshots. He short kicked a KO in this game which was run back close to midfield. What saved him was a holding penalty on the Birds. Two bad kicks in a game tells you all you need to know that his technique is crap. I predicted the block last week when two of his kicks were very low. Any other position and he would be benched or cut. For those who think the fix wasn't in to keep Sloman look at how poorly he's been kicking. They released Greg for less. Want him to have a chance? That is what the PS is for, not the active roster.
This is now the second game in a row Hill played like crap. He's too freaking slow to be a CB. He has average long speed but he lacks the required acceleration. He's not even being asked to play man and he's still can't defend anyone. Time to release Hill and play Burgess. Releasing Hill will clear almost $3M in cap.
Staley's bend not break only works if your team scores TDs not FGs and if they don't make mistakes like costly penalties or fumbles. Staley's defense looks better than it is because the opposition has been playing from behind. His zone looks better the closer to the red zone they get backed up but that's basically conceding FGs. The Rams got lucky against Dallas when they went for on 4th down instead of tying the game.
Staley continues to play Sebas leaving the middle soft against the run. He continues to play Hill who has had two consecutive poor games. At this point I would rather see Rapp than Johnson if Staley continues to want to play Fuller. By benching Rapp that fool Staley is retarding Rapps development when it's obvious that Johnson won't be on the team next year. Yeah I called him out because he's done nothing to clean up the issues that he admitted they had. Staley is trying to emulate the Charger secondary. But what he doesn't see is that they turn their front 7 loose while he tries to play not to lose. He's no better than Wade in that he has talent on the team he isn't using. Wade did to Ebukam last year what Staley is doing to Rapp this year, yeah I'm no fan of Staley at this point. This game should never have been as close as it was for as long as it was. Staley's conservative non-attacking defense kept the Eagles in the game. Mark my words sooner or later it will cost them a win.
The guy's totally delusional. He thinks that he knows more/better than the coaches and is incapable of admitting that he's wrong. He routinely trashes our players and coaches, maybe he should go back to being a chargers fan.Wow. Just...wow. We won. Sloman had one extra point blocked. It doesn't mean shit for a career. And you, I, and every other fan have no idea - none at all - what coaches are coaching these guys to do, which means that those kickoffs could be coaching, not kicking. He's had all of two games, and you want to try something else. It's kneejerk, especially after a win.
And calling out Staley...don't you know his defenses have had six combined points in the second quarter? That means that he's willing to make adjustments, something that precious few of our previous DCs did. Troy Hill had a solid interception, and SJD did his job: take on blockers for the linebackers to clean up after. Rapp could still be injured. You don't know. I don't know. None of us fans know.
Believe me, I have my own biases, but you have to give them credit for a fucking win. Nitpicking like this is, honestly, quite petty and is not needed after a win. I have my own concerns, but I can eat crow when needed. Can you?

The issue with your logic is that you're framing this as if the defense has been garbage under Staley - this is far from reality. Plenty of us had our gripes against the soft coverage they were playing in the first half of game 1 and we saw a little more of it in game 2. But we ate our crow after the second half adjustments. The defense as a UNIT gave up 6 second half points over two games - that's DAMN good. You're nitpicking and acting like you have a better defensive game plan; blitzing wasn't necessary to win the games right? Staley has shown that he's able to make adjustments, what makes you think that the defensive game plan against the Seahawks won't be something different than what we saw yesterday? You game plan to a team's strengths and we have film on the Seahawk's "let Wilson cook" offense.Staley is more concerned about containing the QB than attacking him. If it wasn't for AD there would be no pass rush at all. Proof? Look at how he uses Ebukam at DE. We have all seen how Ebukam rushes in 2018 when he blitzed from his SAM LB position. Now look at his rush now. The violence and speed of the rush is lacking as he's playing to contain. Go ahead and compare his blitzes in 2018 and his rushes this year it's no comparison. The same thing with Floyd, he's obviously more afraid of perhaps breaking contain than pressuring the QB. It makes me sick. I've seen true attacking defenses and Staley's is a conservative play not to lose scheme. He would rather allow the short underneath completions and come up and make the tackle. But he ignores the fact that some of these receivers are pretty damn good at getting YAC so it's not that simple. The result is teams move at will until they get to the Ram 40 and then Staley tightens things up. That's stupid. It works now because teams haven't had preseason and real TC or scrimmages. But as the season continues that will change and Staley's conservative approach will start to lose it's luster unless he tightens things up now. Trying to do it later is foolish. Do it now while the Rams still have a competitive advantage so the defense is peaking after Thanksgiving.
The Sea Hawks play this same style of zone defense and if you watched tonight's game it allowed the Pats to stay in the game and almost pull it out. The Pats have a good defense but are short-handed on offense yet the Hawks conservative defense allowed them to hang around and it almost cost them. Look how the Rams have recently played Seattle tough. But if Staley goes into that game with this defense Wilson will eat his lunch. He faces it every day in practice for years. He knows more about it than Staley does.
Maybe I'm old school but I believe in making the opposition fight for every blade of grass and you don't give freebies. Staley acts like he doesn't know how to dominate a game. I want a DC with cajones!! Not one that simply knows how to scratch them.
2-0 last time i checked?Rams are 2-0 right, or did i miss somethin
