Well, I googled it but still don't get the connection.
I imagine it's because of this. Note the ball exiting his hand still in frame, down there between his hips and knees.

And THAT my Rams friends is why you do not want a running quarterback. Exploded ankle.

Feel bad for the guy, contract year on the franchise tag. What do you want to be Dalton will do better anyway.

I will take my lanky kid who is a pocket passer that can roll out once in awhile.

They should still have a good offense with Dalton behind Center. What ended their season wasn't Dak, it was their garbage ass defense. Goddamn are they bad.

Dak is a terrific QB. He is a team player and doesn't allow himself to be a distraction.

What happened is terrible and I wish him well in recovery.

Anyone who thinks Dalton is going to be as good or better....come on. Dalton will do fine. He has tons of experience. But, he is not Dak.

That said. Fuck Jerry and the Cowboys.

Best of luck to him.
The pain must have been horrendous.
He must be a tough guy the way he was looking at it holding his leg.
Often the visual realisation of such an injury is too much for most.

Yeah, you're right that in many situations, seeing something can make it real and make the pain worse, but in my experience, the visual of something gruesome can help kick your system into shock almost instantly, actually protecting you from the extreme pain that might otherwise go with such an injury.

My heart goes out to Dak, especially on a one year deal, I feel for him as he's an asset on and off the field. Mike McCarthy made a huge mistake hiring his friend who hired him in Mike Nolan, he's clueless and looks more lost on the sidelines and 100 years old.

Here's the sad part, they will keep Nolan, but he will be some high profile assistant and hire a new DC next year, but Dalton will be solid and again I feel real bad for Prescott.

They said it is a compound fracture of his ankle.

A big part that makes Dak.....Dak is his running ability.

Compound means bones sticking out of the skin.

I have not heard of such an ankle injury to an NFL player. Or anyone for that matter.

Certainly gives me much pause.

Happened two seasons ago to then Cowboys WR Allen Hurns.

Seriously amazing how McCarthy is making the exact same mistakes he made in Green Bay hiring his friends to be shitty DCs. I know many Green Bay fans around here and they are all just laughing and enjoying that it's happening to the Cowboys now instead of them.

 Brutal. Hopefully he makes a quick recovery and goes somewhere to punish the Cowboys for the next decade.

I don't think that will happen. Jerruh cares way too much about his image. The vitriol he'll get, on top of what he already has, would be bonkers if he let Dak go and possibly sign with the Giants or Washington.

Apparently Hurns suffered a dislocated ankle with a broken fibula.

Dak suffered a dislocated ankle with a compound fracture of the ankle.

Both pretty gruesome injuries.

That injury was brutal. You hate to see it happen to anyone.

Daks a good dude, though.
He'll come back swinging.

The Cowboys would be fools not to lock him up next year
