I'd take him over Gay if the price is right. 47 yarder missed almost cost us a super bowl.
That range was GZ's weak spot too. Gay has been good from beyond that distance all season. I thought they mentioned Gay having an injury or something the game he missed that 47 yarder.
You are kidding, right? Gay was Phenomenal last year.
I have been a big GZ fan but was on board with letting him walk for the money. They mentioned the injury possibility in the playoff game but I was pretty pissed with that miss. Remember GZ game winner vs NO. I'm good either way.

I guess if you just look at those 2 kicks, I could see your logic, but look at the number of makes vs misses in both FG & XPs, and the difference is stark.

GZ had his share of clutch kicks as a Ram but he made me nervous with his consistency.
I never had a peace of mind when he lined up for the typical 35 to 45 yard attempt.
Too much English on his kicks for my liking.
Not to Mention that Matt Gay's Cap # in 2021 was $850,000 and Zeurlein's was $2,818,617
GZ was a thriller. He made some long-ass kicks with the Rams. I thought he was getting into a groove but, then the back problems showed up.
For the money and even straight-up Gay was the better choice. GZ missed 6 X Points!
The miss against Tampa Bay could have been a little wind and groin injury. I would give Gay a two-year deal now.

GZ gave me heartburn every time he kicked. TOO MUCH SPIN.

As one of GZs biggest supporters at this stage of their careers to me it’s a no brainer, Matt Gay is our man
That being said, young GZ was the best kicker I perhaps have ever seen, tho that guy in Baltimore ain’t too shabby

Zuerline has been total trash at Dallas, (has missed 9 extra point tries) and while he made the big kick in New Orleans, he also missed a 48 yarder in the SB that would have made it a 1 score game
And for the record, Gay hit the game winning FG in the divisional and conference championship games
Zuerlein also missed a 44-yard-FGA in the final seconds of a Thursday-night-game in Seattle in 2019; and that one-point-loss proved to be the difference in the Rams missing the playoffs that season.

Dude, why did you remind me? My son and I were at that game. It was eerie walking back to the car. The 12s not only didn't rub it in, they looked totally shocked, like "How did he miss that?"

Zuerlein was bad between 40-50 yards for some reason. And no, don't show me the stats that prove he wasn't, it seemed like those were the kicks he always missed.
From 50+ he was damn good, but when it was in the 40's I was always scared shitless.
