just thinking. With McVay implementing his offense, and calling the plays on gameday, what role is really required of OC? Maybe this is one of those chances for McVay to teach and get that offensive coordinator tree planted...

The OC isn't an empty position, even if McVay calls plays. You want someone who is capable of running the offense in practice and meetings. You want someone who can help with play design, gameplanning, and scripting plays. You want someone who can amplify your weak points as a coach. And most of all, you want someone who can take over the playcalling if it gets to be too much to do it with your HC duties.
I wouldn't trust Boras to coordinate colors, much less this offense. McVay needs someone he can trust to possibly handle this offense in the future.

Reality is; want to change the culture? Very few hold overs will remain on the coaching staff. Very few.
OC will still play an important roll.just thinking. With McVay implementing his offense, and calling the plays on gameday, what role is really required of OC? Maybe this is one of those chances for McVay to teach and get that offensive coordinator tree planted...
Interesting thought. Sounds like you're suggesting McVay can take this time to mold his own progeny. Boras is still kinda young and has some familiarity with the players and what they can do, so maybe people have read far enough into this reply that it seems I'm on board when in reality I think this is the worst idea since New Coke. I summarily reject this notion and hope your future ideas are exclusive of Rob Boras in their entirety.just thinking.
