Worst case they can franchise him in 25' until they work out a deal. They have enough cap room to do that and still add players.
They can't franchise him b/c he's under contract until 2026. If there is an issue it's that he has a $29.78 mil. cap hit in 2025.

There no reason to lock it before the trade deadline.

I always find it odd, that people post in threads they don’t want to be a part of.

This isn’t a fun thread, but it’s not mandatory to participate either.

The only thing I want locked, is Kupp retiring a Ram.
Well, since you asked, I come here more for information much more so than anything else. I do a fine job of avoiding threads of which I want no part, i.e. GDT or Vent Threads.

But what Ram fan would not have interest/concern over a thread with a title such as this one?

I do appreciate you relieving me of mandatory participation nonetheless. Fact of this matter is that McVay said Kupp wasn't being traded. But when I see new posts in this thread it always causes concern making it difficult to simply look away. Even though, as it turns out, it is generally just a waste of my time.

We have been around long enough to know that coaches aren’t always direct.
What McVay said put me at ease a bit, but we never really know what their discussions are behind closed doors.

Once again - you could see this ? Kupp getting traded??

I guess anything is possible ,but your going to separate PUCKA & KUPP ??

Did you here PUCKA after Tge Rams win Thursday. You think about the work those 2 put in in the offseason & think that relationship & bond mean NOTHING??

Some Ram Fans always seem to get it twisted.I for one can say I got real DARK at what the season could hold. NEVER did I See PUCKA playing THURSDAY!!

Talk about The BYE week coming at the right time !! Can’t wait for Shula’s game plan.

This rookie LG has been surprising. What happens to Noteboom ,Jackson or Avila ?? Having A’Jackson back makes all the difference.I don’t UNDERSTAND why The Rams didn’t sign him to a multi- year deal & went and signed Johan Jackson ? Funny the Steelers have both the LBers I wanted for The Rams.

Anyway - a few weeks back you hear the chirping of a FEW talking about Kupp’s contract.I don’t see Kupp playing with Can Jefferson ever again. What a waste & he NEVER seemed to bond well with Kupp.
How did I get in the line of fire on this ?! I didn't suggest it. I didn't endorse it. Not to mention I set very specific criteria; ie losses to both MINN & SEA, rendering the season all but over in which I speculated that McSnead might have to make a business decision. And it would be a biz decision, not a sentimental one. I'd be saddened. We all would, but I would understand it.

I'm sure The Rams are thrilled with the classy way Kupp has taken the guy who is essentially his successor under his wing, but no, I don't think McSnead would hesitate for a moment if the move was best for LAR in their minds.

Although you could argue that trading him to a contender from a team with fading playoff hopes could have been viewed as respect & appreciation, not some heartless Simon LeGree shizzle you have cooked up in your head. If they had dumped him in Carolina or LV, you'd have had something to cry about.

I still think Kupp's spot on The Rams for next year is far from secure. If he gets hurt again or J.Whit, say, continues to improve, he'll have to take a pay cut at the very least, imo.

I get it. But we've heard misdirection before. I think almost all of us hope Kupp retires a Ram. But as much as we want him to stay, it may not be the best idea to think anything is a done deal with this regime. It's only a week. Let's let it ride out.

Kupp isn't getting traded. Whatever he does the rest of the year will be more important to determining his future with the Rams. Anything else put out there but the media whores that want attention is for clicks.

Exactly. I don't expect Cooper Kupp to be traded. But ...

Say a team like Pittsburgh which has not won a playoff game in eight years and wants someone opposite Pickens, or Houston which just lost Diggs offer a 2nd and 4th for Kupp; and agree to take-on his remaining 2024 salary. The draft capital plus the 2024 and 2025 cap relief could be tempting to the Rams.

I think it is unlikely but is it possible?
I love Kupp and think he offers intangible value beyond just his on-field production. That being said, the Rams think out-of-the-box as much as any team in the NFL; and they've done things I did not see coming.

It's like I always say ... "Fool me 17 times, shame on you ... Try to fool me an 18th time ... and ... Well, I'm an idiot, so you will probably get-away with it you fucking-bastard."

I guess with Noteboom off the books & could help The Rams find a LT for the future. The Rams are set up front next year & whole offense as well.

A player waving to the crowd bros... happens like every game.

You guys cracking me up.
Jeebus dude, chill. That post looked ominous to me in light of the trade rumors. Also, it is relevant to this thread, so I posted it.

Man I'd love to get 1 more year outta Kupp, then get him to retire & join the coaching staff -- he'd NEVER leave the Rams that way.
....until he gets poached :(
He'd be a WR coach like no other. Even has his own custom training facility. Puka was puka-ing on the turf after one of Kupp's training sessions lol.
That, or he's gonna go all in on his coffee enterprise, smh.

Noteboom is not under contract for 2025 but he is also not off the books. Rams will carry $10M on their 2025 cap for Noteboom in 2025 as a Void Year.

Cool - thanks - what happens if his contract isn’t voided just to play devils advocate??

It will be interesting.
