Very sad to see him go. Kupp treated us to probably the best season ANY Ram has ever had. And then he played even better in the Super Bowl. He defines “stud”.
Kupp was part of the most awestruck moment I've every experienced watching football when in the Super Bowl he was the only weapon standing, Stafford finally said "F it, I'm going to him every play", the entire world knew Kupp was getting the ball, and they still couldn't stop him.

I've never seen that before.

It just sucks that it ended this way, in this fashion. He and the Rams deserved a better ending
Alas, we're down to just Higbee and Havenstein as the only players from McVay's 1st team. Complete overhaul and the winning keeps going

Something to consider for people who are upset about kupp leaving (which I get I always loved the guy's play style). Think of last year when we started off 1-4 because we had no healthy WR.

Kupp just can't stay on the field - you saw what happened without healthy targets for Stafford.

Sound and mature perspective but it's still a little too early for me to fully accept.

I am just about getting-over the Rams trading Deacon Jones (to San Diego in 1972) and Roman Gabriel (to Philadelphia in 1973).

I think the play by the Cardinal db was awfully dirty as well. He went for Kupp's knees.

Kupp would have been on the sideline sipping a cup of coffee before the db got there if that stiff could throw the ball properly.

Wait, what? I thought it was you who personified that definition @RamFan503…

I think there's a 6-7mil dead money hit
I wish! $22.3M of Dead-$. Per OTC and Spotrac.

That's providing the release is designated as pre-June 1st. SEE BELOW

Cap Savings is $7.5M.
That's why some of us were hoping this move would happen next year, when those amounts flipped.

EDIT: So it is a Post-June Designation (per Schefter), meaning the Dead-$ is split over two years.

Rams have less Dead-$ in 2025 (just under $15M); and double their 2025 cap savings to $15M.

It ALSO means Dead-$ in 2026

So he can get hurt again
So you don't think Kupp's would have been worth $7.5M to the Rams in 2025?

Because, that's all they save this year.

EDIT:
The Post-June-designation changes the #'s. Less Dead-$ in 2025 ... More cap relief in 2025 ... Dead-$ in 2026

Probably the least surprising news for Rams fans by now. Its disappointing but had to happen. The injury history. Age. Decline. Woulda been nice if he took a pay cut but seriously who would do that in this day and age? Just like when Donald retired. They have to move on. They have a franchise to run. They owe it to the fans to put the best possible product on the field. We'll get over it when they start playing.
