i said in another thread, if he is taking blood thinners for clots, it is very unlikely he can get on the field...

the reason?.. taking blood thinners makes every scratch look like you're bleeding to death... kinda...

you're not, but coagulation takes a little longer and everyone around you has issues with the amount of blood they see...

it sucks for AJ, because most likely he's over the part that alerted him to this issue, but if he is still, or has been, taking the thinners...

he will most likely be sidelined...

good luck with it rams... i hope he and the med staff can come up with a workable solution...

on the positive side, my experience was in '07, and medical advances since then may work in his favor...

i sure hope so...

go rams

I have some hope for Humphries, however, he was exceedingly bad at pass blocking last year, albeit in a small sample size (92 snaps). He graded out to a 30.5 in pass blocking on PFF and an average 66.1 in run blocking. Scares me a bit.

Love Ferguson for us, but damn, shouldn't we of grabbed a OT of the future? Hindsight I know.

There were two OLTs taken between the Rams first round pick that they traded and when they took Ferguson in round 2. They were Josh Connerly and Josh Simmons.

I wonder if either or both were on the Rams board at the time. Ersery was taken after Ferguson. I didn’t research the OLTs very much after Aleric signed his contract. It will be interesting to see if any of them are big contributors this year.

The wife was diagnosed w/ factor 5 Leiden. She saw a doc (had to go to another city) who put her on Lumbrokinase, which is actually prescribed in Japan for blood clots. No bruises, bleeding, etc.
But man do we need A-Jax this season. I really don't want to roll into game 1 w/ DJ Humphries, no slight to him but we need A-Jax there.

Again, I was banging the drum for Hollin Pierce in the seventh. Maybe he'll be available once the Eagles cut him (since they're utterly loaded with offensive linemen)?

The Possible Trade looking at the Landscape could be Braxton Jones of the Chicago Bears. They have two young tackles in Ozzy Trapilo and Kiran Amegadjie. If either or both show well in training camp, that would make Jones available and the price should not be too high being a 4th and 7th round pick to get it done IMO.

Opinions should be based on evidence and facts, not plucked out of one's rectum.
And yet neither opinion had either.

I have to say that calling an opinion stupid is kind of poor being that there is neither evidence nor fact to back up that assertion.

I personally don’t think we should assume the worst intentions from a player just because he recently signed an extension. There is no evidence I have seen to indicate AJ is somehow shutting down because he got paid.

Great prospect but no way start worthy, he'll likely be on their PS

Not having Jackson available for the year could wreck the Rams super bowl aspirations. I have been playing google doctor and the standard recovery for blood clots in the legs seems to be around 3 months minimum so Jackson is very unlikely to start the season. It could also take a lot longer or even be a career ender.

Not sold on Humphrey but it looks like he was one of the better vet options available right now. My concern is that older tackles (30+) tend to decline rapidly especially after major injuries. Humphrey is 31 and will turn 32 in late December. On the plus side he is more than a year and half removed from his ACL injury now and he has had limited action since then so the maybe limited wear and tear of missing most of last season will be a benefit.

I’m not familiar with either of these players. But even if a team has a good Oline situation, what’s the chances they cut a viable young starter? Wouldn’t they keep him for depth?

Even in a trade situation, as we all know, there is a lot of value to having a good swing tackle or two. What’s it going to take for a team to give one up that can start for an NFL team?

In the Bears situation Jones was not that regime's draft choice and he is in the last year of a rookie contract, so if they have viable younger starters, it is a chance to recoup some draft capital.

I'd still poach him. I know he's super raw, but he's uber-talented; 6'8" 330 lbs. tackles with vines for arms don't grow on trees. And we're going to need a tackle, especially with A-Jax's and Havenstein's problems. Braxton Jones is another fantastic option.

You cant poach him unless you're guaranteeing him a roster spot on the 53, he needs a lot of work and needs a year on the PS

Have to think Rams doing due diligence on the trade tackle market right now to be ready...

Not that I thought there was any genuine interest in the first place, but I imagine this puts to rest any ideas of trading for Ramsey.
May need to utilize the cap space they have for an OT

I'm showing the Rams have roughly $21mil in salary cap space. Wouldn't Ramsey only be a $5mil or so cap hit?

I'm not seeing the salary cap being prohibitive to acquiring both.

Lots of moving parts for sure these next few months along with the Kyren extension...

I'd still do it, guaranteeing the roster spot and all. Call me stubborn, but Pierce was one of my prospect crushes.

Ugh.
When you put it that way, I would absolutely take a future 1rst rounder and Ferguson over either of those guys. Rankings aside, neither of those OT prospects moved the needle for me—at least not enough to spend a 1rst rounder on.
