Redskins Most Injured Team

"During last year's offseason, the Redskins flew their medical personnel to Europe, to review the methods being used by top international soccer clubs, who have to keep their players fresh over a long season that includes multiple leagues and international series.
The result was a number of new techniques and devices added to Redskins Park, including an ice machine that made ice out of Gatorade.
It didn't work.
So after another injury plagued campaign, Redskins team president Bruce Allen brought in outside consultants who are experts in the field, and asked them to take a look at everything related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries.
Allen said the Redskins wanted to leave the slate as blank as possible.
"We have all the data on the injuries, and we gave them all of it," he said. "We asked them to see if there was a rhyme or reason.
"We didn't want any preconceived answers."
And?
"Ironically, they're so unrelated it's almost impossible."

I think you’ll see a push for a Lincoln Riley hire and there will be some clubs looking for a team re-boot.
So teams with either a young QB or in position to draft one and not invested in their HC will be in play.
Miami
Denver
Jets
And if Riley is in play, Cleveland is in play

Gruden is done in Washington and IMO is Norv Turner 2.0. He’d be successful OC anywhere but likely will get another HC gig and will disappoint again.

I don't think Kitchens (spelling) would be on the hot seat.
You realize we're talking about the revolving door known as the seven coaches in the last ten years Cleveland Browns - right? Is there an organization with an itchier trigger finger?

The Redskins can't stay healthy. The offensive line has had a crazy amount of injuries over the past few years. Many more injuries too. Hard to coach when your starters are out. I just want to see the Skins beat up on the Girls and Eagles some. They need to start over except you can't fire the owner.

Theres a long list of coaches that are really good coordinators but poor HC's. Head coaches have to have a detailed vision for every aspect of the game. Coordinators not so much.

Snyder needs to be more Kroenke, less Jerry Jones.

Turn the whole thing over to football men. Watch it work.

The problem with that is Daniel Snyder can't do that, just doesn't have the Laissez-faire ability and that is why his puppet on a sting Bruce Allen has been there so long.

Look for Offensive Coordinator Kevin O'Connell to get promoted to Head Coach and replace Jay Gruden, who will be fired after a loss to the New York Football Giants and Danny Dimes.

O'Connell is a former QB and very smart and look for O'Connell if he keeps the job to bring in Rex Ryan as his defensive coordinator.

It's a shame because they've been incredibly unfortunate AND horribly mismanaged. I agree they need to clean house from Allen on down and get a GM.

Washington has no comment about Jay Gruden videos

A pair of videos have emerged containing images of Washington coach Jay Gruden. The team, according to NBCSportsWashington.com, has no comment on the videos.

One video shows Jay Gruden smoking while someone chants his name. Gruden seems to adopt a look of exasperation when he realizes that he’s being recorded. In another video, he’s sitting on the ground talking to a woman.

Some have speculated that Gruden is smoking marijuana in the first video, but it’s hardly definitive. Some in league circles wonder whether the team leaked the videos as a precursor to a potential termination of Gruden with cause, which would allow the team to fire him without paying the balance of his salary.

Last week, the Washington Post reported that Gruden could be fired following a loss to the Giants. Some believe he’s on a week-to-week arrangement with the team.

Coincidentally or not, the videos emerged on the same day Gruden declared that veteran journeyman Colt McCoy will start at quarterback on Sunday against the Patriots, over rookie first-rounder Dwayne Haskins.

I will communicate this a couple of years ago Jay Gruden was up here at Saratoga (Horse Racing) and at one of the more favorable bar/restaurants a colleague of mine, who is a huge Redskin fan offered to buy Jay a drink and Jay accepted.

He was gracious and my friend peppered him with suggestions of course, but Jay can drink and he continued to indulge my friend as long as the drinks kept coming. I was actually shocked through the process and could not believe it was happening.

Have to remember these guys are human, but I'm not shocked that Jay enjoys a good time, however, doing it in the off season is one thing, during the season is something else.

JFYI the only exchange I had as others joined with Jay Gruden is my (colleague/Friend) was a Louisville alum like Jay Gruden and he asked me if I also was a Louisville grad and I responded "No, University of Dayton." and Jay responded: "I think my brother went to Dayton." And I responded "He did." That was all!

The big question with Jay Gruden is does he choose to go work for his brother, or for his protege McVay. I pray it's the latter. IMO Gruden's a quality offensive mind.

I'd smoke weed too if I were in his position

Kingsbury won’t but should...he sucked at TT and was fired.

I don’t think his pet midget will last either.

Falcons owner not eyeing staff change after 1-4 start

Blank, who purchased the franchise 17 years ago, has seen the Falcons through many highs and lows, experiences that has allowed him to maintain optimism even after Atlanta's 53-32 Week 5 loss to the Texans -- their worst loss since Week 5 last season.

"No. ... This staff has performed before. My hope is they can fix what needs to be fixed and start winning some games," Blank told reporters after being asked if a coaching change is needed, according to ESPN.

Under coach Dan Quinn, who signed a three-year extension in July 2018, the Falconshave had three winning seasons and two postseason appearances. The team missed the playoffs last season after going 7-9; the year before that, Atlanta went 10-6 before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round Game.

Since Quinn took over as defensive coordinator after the firing of Marquand Manuel at the end of 2018, the Falcons have given up the 11th-most points per game (24.8) through the first four games this year.

Things haven't quite been the same in Atlanta since the infamous loss in Super Bowl LI, but, for now, Blank still believes that Quinn and his staff can turn their sinking ship around.

I would think Quinn is in real danger in Atlanta.

That team has been in decline since their 2016 SuperBowl run.

Yes, they made the playoffs in 2017... but with only a point differential of 38. That was a flawed team.

2018 went 7-9

2019 1-3 start

The trajectory is not good.

Even before 2016 Quinn was questionable. 2015 in his first year they started 6-1 and finished 8-8. Mike Smith got fired after 2 losing seasons despite having won 56 games in a 5 season period, (all winning years) not sure he can survive another losing season, or even how he has made it this long
