Yawn another entitled NFLer. He showed why the Packers allowed him to walk. He should have enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life. He knows he will get paid. I admit I've definitely never been a fan of his. Hey Snead, pay Gurley and anything coming to Cook but take your time with Clay. Let him run up a lot of legal bills then pay him. By the time the lawyer and taxes get done, he will lose a big chunk of the money. He needs to go kick golf balls in FL with that other entitled guy down there.

I am sure he has support of the players union, A deal is a deal either he is entitled to it or he isn't that is the only matter at hand. I get the but he is rich already but that is just not how the union operates.
Grievances are handled by and filed with union representation. It wont cost him anything I wouldn't think. In fact the Rams may be responsible for a fine on top of money owed.

As long as this is a legit matter if not just go away Clay

If anybody here is a contractual guru, I'll listen...I surely don't know all about language, off-sets, when payments must be made, etc...
 
I do hope the grievance vindicates the Rams. May be in the minority here but I don't want my team to be guilty of not paying players what they are owed.

I'm sure that is the case but just sayin.

I don’t understand the hate towards Clay. This is a business.

They are both using the available tools to their advantage. Rams are waiting to see where he signs to offset the money while Clay is leveraging his ability to file a grievance to get his money sooner.

If you were in Clay’s shoes and you weren’t getting paid money for work you did, wouldn’t you take the steps necessary to change that?

What’s with all the childish hate?

@AllGasNoBrakes my take this rubs people wrong for this reason...

It’s millionaires fighting each other in a pandemic. Which comes off tone deaf to the challenges of these times.

And... the fight seems petty.

As @flv said; Both sides agree Matthews is owed the money, it should be paid, and that it will be paid. The dispute is over the language of when it should be paid.
