I dont generally complain much about the officiating, but they were shit today. 2 huge plays back to back with Cooks and Gurley would have doomed us if not for replay.
That fuck Alexander got away with no less than 4 holding calls and a PI on Cooks. Total Shit.
I'm also completely perplexed that Saffold gets called on a holding call that every defense does to Donald. (I agree it was clearly holding)

This was a great win, but I'm still pissed, due to what we had to do to get it.

Edit. Lol
I just started reading through this thread and it looks like you guys saw exactly what I saw.

Also, while I'm at it. Hill stresses me out.
I cant wait until Talib is back.

I saw McVay say he used John wooden’s coaching philosophy the other day. Is that a modified Wooden triangle, with the we not me in the center?
The pyramid of success is a great book for young athletes. My son still has the pyramid pinned next to his door for reference. It gets pretty religious just be ready

Gotta say, the Packers' defense came to play today. They did a really good job with coverage (including special teams) and dialing up pressure in key situations. While it was a stressful game, and it didn't look like we had our A game, this one - to me - is very encouraging. Early deficit, trouble getting the offense on track, inability to get to Rodgers, miscues, drops, etc., and YET we find a way to claw back in it and win again. Honestly, I'd rather see them win games in this fashion than blowing people out of the water. The more adversity they face on the road to the playoffs, the better IMO.

It wasn't that long ago, when we dreamed of getting 8 wins in a season. Think about that. In the Fisher years, Arians would joke and belittle us about being at best, an 8 win team....And he was being generous, because the best we did under Fish was 7-8-1. We jut reeled off 8 straight victories with no losses...

I am euphoric...

I know coaches always do a self evaluation of their team, for tendencies, etc. This will be a great game to look at, specifically the offense, because teams will try to do the same thing GB did defensively today. I would bet to see NO try and play the same scheme next week. Happy for the win! 8-0 sounds great, but there is a long ways to go. The next 3 weeks will be a true test of this team's mettle.

It's worth keeping a few things in mind too.
1. Cooper Kupp is our blitz killer. He gets quick separation on third downs. When he's healthy, Goff looks to him when blitzed, and we make teams pay more often than not.
2. The Packers DL was having a day. It wasn't just the blitz. We weren't picking it up badly. The problem was that the Packers DL was winning the one on ones that the blitz created.
3. McVay did seem to have an off day. It feels like he times up blitzes and nails them with passes to Gurley. That didn't happen too often today.

Agreed on the refs. On the Saffold "hold," that used to be holding, but they haven't called that shit in years. Donald and Quinn had/have to deal with that on every down. It was a ridiculous call that nearly cost us the win.

Seemed like an attempt of imposed parity by the league. Such a convenient time to call a penalty against us.

Goff seemed a little unsettled early because GB played nickle and dime secondary but as the game went he was able to get going.

Up against the best QB in the game I'll say the Ram secondary held their own. Peters has to stop biting on the first move...that's what's getting him burned.

Gurley was great as usual...especially on that catch they had to review...SIMPLY AMAZING!

Donald was great out there again and came through with a BIGTIME sack.

This was a good test because it doesn't get easier going against Brees next. Each win hones this team and makes them better...KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

I was really surprised, with the early blitzing and pressure GB was brining, we didn't throw a single RB Screen today. Maybe keeping it off the film for the next 2 weeks? I don't know. You gotta win the game you are playing. And... RUN LEFT MORE.
