There is a lot to criticize with this game but we came away with a W and 6-1 feels good!

I'm not therapist but something seems to be bothering you. The Rams won and are 6-1!
Apologies for quoting myself but you might want to read more of my posts? Feels good to be 6-1! Maybe leave the therapy to others :D I'm doing great btw thank you for asking life, work, sports, family and loved ones all in a great spot in life I'm touched by your concern.

Great game, I think I am cool with my parking and exit plan now. Lomo Saltado from one of the many great Peruvian places in L.A. on the way home was a great capper
Another great day with the boy before he heads off to college, What more can you ask for?
I had fun with some Lions fans that flew in from Detroit, took way to long to quiet them down
That team is not 0 - 6 bad, lots of teams I would rather play

Can someone please tell me why the Rams seem to get off to such slow starts in the 1st Quarter, both on offense and defense? It seems like the coaches do not have them ready to play, at kickoff. They seem to be really slow starters, this year, and I have to believe that's on the coaches.

Defense played well, got stops, but then a fake punt keeps the drive alive. More stops, get to a 3rd and 10...then get caught in a zero blitz when Lions call a screen. Just unlucky. Then onside kick recovered. I mean it was 10-0 before we touched the ball. Our offense scored 17 in the first half on 3 drives. Thats very, very good. 2 TDs and a FG on three drives.

While I still feel we can tighten things up defensively, I think the early flow of the 1st quarter was misleading because we didn't really play bad. They just shit on our special teams, but I guess that is a phase that was bad. And it was horrible. But idk I feel like offensively early we were great and defensively pretty good. I was more frustrated with the D in the second half at times not getting off the field.

Nice duck Crapollo you suck.

Rams win and whiners lose is always a perfect day!
Right with you Classic! Great day! What blows my mind is the fact the Whiners are still rated pretty high in the Power Rankings by what must be some acid tripping Haight-Ashbury knuckleheads. They should be joining the basement dwellers after this loss. I saw more fight and heart from the Lions! Power Ranking Pundits, please rank the Whiners accordingly.

.

the lions put up a good fight but the rams looked like the much better team throughout the game.

was only a matter of time before they overran them.

mcvay needs to have stafford primed for the playoffs. if he's on the rams are gonna slaughter whichever team they play.

First, I had to go to a Greek wedding in San Diego (Those peeps certainly know how to throw a party. No matter the age) and didn't get back in the house till half time. (Got Sunday Ticket so I am good.......unless it rains heavy.

Then, had to suffer through shit reception the first half (live in the drenched Norcal completely missing two Rams touchdowns. Many confusing moments.
Sunday Ticket didn't even start the Rams-Lions broadcast until the game was already 7-0, so at least you missed out on that annoyance.

The verticals on 3rd down have been the culprit of numerous possession killers resulting in punts. Waaay too many. I have no problem with those on 1st or 2nd down but its stupid on 3rd down when you consider the low percentage of conversion.

The yards per pass is nice but its actually a very deceptive stat when you consider the overall scoring is down from the 2018 Mcvay team.

It's much worse when you consider the decimated secondaries we have been lucky to have faced thus far. I don't think I need to detail it for those that have been following the games each week. But the Bears seconary is no longer what it is, The Colts were missing Xavier Rhodes and others, the Bucs were completely depeleted then had more injuries during our game leading to signing Sherman the following week, The Cardinals secondary isn't that good with the exception of Murphy who intercepted our aggressive approach, The Seahawks secondary is depleted with the exception of Diggs who intercepted us, then you had the Giants and Lions.

Think about that. When the playoffs roll around we will be facing an Arizona defense that shut us down, The Bucs with Sherman and JP back, Jaire Alexander and Trevon Diggs who is snatching up anything.

Am I being a debbie downer? No. I am just providing some context. The Deep ball is feast or famine and shouldn't be counted on for converting third downs as a regular occurence.

Tom Brady didn't win his Super Bowl with Randy Moss, but he did win it with the Gronks and Edelmans of the world.

Though the GSOT did use the long ball to Bruce to close it out. So it is possible.

But the biggest consideration for using a deep ball approach is Oline and pass pro. If we can stay healthy it's possible. So far all 5 lineman have been healthy. So has Higbee. Henderson and Sony have also been overall really solid in pass pro. If we get into the playoffs with this type of health then yes the deep ball approach is possible, but that is a long way away. Dialing up deep plays and sitting in the pocket for 5 seconds untouched like Stafford was today on the beautiful critical 3rd down pass to Kupp is only possible if all those blockers are healthy.

Van Jefferson made some nice catches in this one. He keeps getting better every week.

This offense is different from 2018. We dont have the best RB in the NFL. I think people actually forget how dominant Gurley was in 2018, 21TDs is absolutely insane. Peak Gurley is better than the Kupp we're seeing this year, which is hard to believe. I like Hendo and wish we'd run the ball a little more, but McVay has never had a QB like this and he was already pass happy before we got Stafford.

I agree on 3rd down we should focus on converting instead of driving it TOO far down the field. But not going to lie, its awesome throwing to the sticks every time at least. The 3rd and long screen passes were so bad with Goff. And its not like Stafford is turning the ball over on the more aggressive throws. I just thought that chart is interesting because it demonstrates how our offense has changed this year versus the last 4.

Detroit has some nice players. D’Andre Swift is a serious 1A running back.

I hadn’t seen much of him prior to this game.

I don't know what the problem is. Stafford is targeting receivers deeper down the field and the Rams are having more success. More scoring, more 3rd down conversions, fewer turnovers, and oh yes, fewer punts. Rams are well ahead of their 2019-2020 pace.

But it only happens because of the calibre of competition? I don't remember that addendum being slapped onto the 2017-2020 Rams accomplishments.

Rams will need to be aggressive in the playoffs and they will need to throw deep against the teams they face. What the Rams have now is a QB who is willing to pull the trigger on those plays. And the option to call something other than the WR screen the opposition is sitting on.
