I am still so jacked up from this W boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To me, this was our greatest victory of the season thus far. Why? For a few reasons.
1: This game was DESTINY. After all the horrible tragedies LA has suffered through the past few weeks, this was a game that the Rams needed to win. To get a W would uplift the spirits of an entire city, and that's what the Rams did. Originally, as we all know, this was supposed to be in Mexico City. Fate determined otherwise and it was played where the game truly needed to be played at: in LA.
2: We played arguably the best team in the AFC and beat one hell of a team. This was a statement game. All the talking heads have no choice but to give us the credit we deserve. Although the defense gave up 51 points, the reality is, the defense on both sides got TDs and played a huge role last night.
3: What happens when your best offensive player is essentially shut out of the game? Fear not. We have JARED GOFF. I mean are you kidding me? Some of the throws he made last night, including the game winner, was just MAGICAL. This dude is a surgeon, and yes McVay has put our guys in the best possible position to succeed but even when in his rookie year, I said to myself, wow he's making some great throws. The people who didn't believe in him clearly just looked at stats and W-Ls. As one of the NFL analysts said last night, and forgive me because I forget who said it, it's not always about the stats. You gotta watch the game to truly understand...
4: Although I'm not a huge fan of ridiculous scores like 54-51, it was still one of the greatest, craziest, absurd football games I've EVER seen. This was on national TV--on Monday Night Football. As I said earlier, this was a statement game. Everyone in the country saw what we're capable of. This game was literally historic and I'm so glad to have been able to not only be a part of it as a Rams fan but as the victor!
5: This game is an instant classic that I think will be talked about for a long time. Obviously LA-KC was the game of the season, and it did NOT disappoint.
6: I LOVE A W heading into the Bye. These guys deserved it. Ebukam had an interesting comment after the game. He said that the DL in particular wanted to put in a little extra tonight. They are without a doubt the strongest link of our defense. I expect moving forward that we'll see more and more disruption from them. With Talib coming back at the right time, I think this defense will gel at the right time: right before the playoffs.
I'm so proud of this team, and I've never been more proud to be a Rams fan. Guys, we're experiencing history in the making. Don't take it for granted. We've got something really special here.
