Are you talking about starting over a healthy Noteboom? Or referring to the idea of him being a future starting RT?

Nooooo Body!!!!

The dude is made of glass. Is that two starts in a row and two no shows the next week this year?

Easy cut for me.
It's ashame Accurie isn't better than he is, otherwise they could just move on from Noteboom now. Why wait?

I'm going to try and rewatch some of the game just to focus on McClendon.

Even if he's solid, though.. they probably need to draft another tackle in first three rounds next year, imo.
Depends on if we re-sign A-Jax. You re-sign A-Jax, and have Avila, Limmer, and Dotson in the middle (and let's not forget that Dotson's been playing hurt all year, and Avila's been playing only recently) and Havenstein as a bookend. Sure, we'll need to draft a swing tackle if we sign A-Jax, but we've got a lot of good young depth, and five key starters.
Pretty sure you are mistaken about the Seahawks game but that's ok. If you want to annoint him now that's fine. For me one game does not make him a made man. Especially after multiple bad games.

I may be mistaken about the quarter. Look up the snap count for the game Havenstein went out, though. McClendon played all of the snaps after Havenstein got hurt (Noteboom was on IR at the time), and there were a lot of snaps in what was a very good series for him. Add that in with a good game here, and there's a lot of reason to hope (he was a fifth-round pick last year, let's not forget).

He's not a left tackle, like what he played at the Detroit game (maybe that's what you're thinking, but it was not multiple bad games; he has only ever started during the Detroit game and this game, both at different positions, so I'm not sure where the "multiple bad games" is coming from.). Detroit was a bad game for him. He was also lining up at left tackle against Aiden Hutchinson, who is arguably the best pass-rusher in the NFC now that AD retired, so we're talking only elite left tackles who would stand a ghost of a chance, not a second-year fifth-round pick who has only ever started at right tackle in college.

I'm not anointing McClendon as the starter. Far from it. I'm just stating that he's done enough to be trustworthy as a temporary backup until Havenstein comes back. He's proved that much. I'm not sure why you want to talk about this in what's supposed to be a celebration thread.

Well my dog and neighbors think I’m nuts probably for how upset I get watching the Rams sometimes but I’m proud of them for holding on for the W! Huge win.

This team has a lot of good young pieces. Looking to next year, next year needs to be the year. Stafford won't be playing at a high level forever and they put in a good young talent base on both lines.

So next year needs to be a weapons draft/FA period. Add a dynamic TE, and big play WR, and a top young CB...or two. a playmsking MLB wouldnt hurt either. If possible add a young QB who has a chance to at least be a solid bridge QB on a few years.

The lines are in good shape, now add a couple playmakers on both sides of the ball and they could be so much better.

With about $50M plus in cap room and 3 picks in the top 100, they should be able to make this happen.

McClendon had nineteen snaps in the Seattle game compared to fifty-eight by Havenstein before he went down with an injury. Here is the proof.

Again, I am not anointing him as any kind of starter, but for fuck's sake, we're talking about a thread that's celebrating that we won the game. If you or OS or anyone - literally anyone - wish to be negative towards me in any other thread, I'm more than willing to take it. But not here. Not when we're supposed to be positive here.

Yeah the prob right now is mainly we need a corner on defense to replace Spoon. Nothing against him but he's a subpar option out there and limited in how he can be used. That said there is room for the secondary to improve with Durant and the safeties. So maybe we can hit these next games on an upswing defensively.

I'd like to see this defense lower its points against by 3-4 over the rest of the sched. For that to happen the secondary has to play better.

Lines are definitely in good shape. Just need health on both sides.

For the offseason they need to do a much better job in the FA window. But that's a ways off. I'm not ready to write this season off just yet. We've got a lot of issues but as you say a lot of good young pieces so I'm going to enjoy watching them battle the rest of the way.

The foul on Verse was warranted. Young man being over aggressive, learn and move on.

McClendon was very good today. Liked it.

Oh and Les Snead wasted a future draft pick on Fiske. - Mic drop

It seems like maybe the Rams are developing a reputation for have a disruptive pass rush. Sure seemed like Maye was getting rid of the ball within 2.5 seconds or less. I gotta think that was by design to mitigate our pass rushers. The secondary should be playing tighter when teams are doing that.

It's not maybe. They are a top pass rushing unit. And have been for some time now.

Difference now is they improved against the run. Brown in particular but also some others like Fiske.

Secondary is definitely going to determine how far we can go. That and health at a few key spots.
