The Rams are a better team then the Cards.

Having said that, any given Sunday.

We have some glaring weaknesses that can be exploited. Namely Long Jr, Rapp and Williams - all struggling in the loose coverage scheme.

As memento mentioned, we have to contain Chandler Jones. Yes we have Whitworth but he’s a little susceptible to inside moves. Watt can also get immediately into the backfield at times. Corbett and Allen need to be on point again.

I feel good with Stafford that he won’t cough it up if the protection breaks down. But those two guys are all world and can wreak havoc.

Barring some crazy turnovers we should win and could win big.

But a perfect game by the Cards exposing our secondary could make a close game they pull out on their best day.

McVay's Rams should be 9-0 vs the Cards after Sunday....

For myself, this next game vs the much improved scrappy Cardinals, is just as important if not more then the last game vs the vaunted SB defending champions Buccaneers.

Anytime two undefeated 3-0 NFL teams (same division) are playing for "Sole Possession" of first place, it doesn't get much bigger for a week 4 contest.

The Cardinals chances to take this game down to the wire is not be underestimated.

I don't put stock in the outcome over their last 8 meetings. (Rams 8-0)

This is a new season and the NFL has always been about "you are only as good as your next game".

I do, only because McVay vs Kingsbury.
Agree with the rest though. Beating the Bucs was big in terms of the Rams own measuring stick but when your undefeated, and your first division game is against another undefeated team....HUGE.

Lets be honest, if this was 3-0 Rams vs 3-0 Niners or 3-0 Seahawks instead of Arizona...this board would be in a frenzy right now and calling this a game of epic proportions.

lol

Had to give you a little shit, it's been a while!

Honestly, Kingsberry and McVay being friends and all I see this one as a close one. As we see with McFleaur, Shanahan, McVay, and Kingsberry they are friends, but take the rivalry with eachother very seriously. I see you guys coming out with some things that haven't been seen before for the season and some new twists. Been watching you guys a lot. You guys OL going to be start all 5 this coming week?
Wassup man.

Too early to say on the OL. 2 OL were dinged up with 1 leaving the game. We’ll see on the injury report tomorrow.

So I've been pretty hard on the Cardinals but I have to admit that the wins against Tennessee and JAX impressed me. I know JAX isn't good but the Cardinals have dropped those should win games in the past (Lions last year), and both were east coast trips and early starts (I think TEN was early).

You're a good poster though and honestly, most of my irritation with the Cardinals has nothing to do with them. It was so many picking them over the Rams last year when they'd never beaten McVay. Murray has never played particularly well against us, but....

He's seemed to have gotten dinged up prior to playing us in years past, at least from what I can recall. This time he's fully healthy and has a better offense around him. And for the Cardinals, it's house money to an extent because this game is in LA. More of a measuring stick game than a must win.

A few questions for you:

Is the run defense bad? Was great in week one but seemed to struggle the last two weeks.

Is the OL injured? Saw a few guys got dinged up
Wassup man.

Run defense has been bad & can be abused repeatedly. The DTs, albeit young, have been disappointing.

Starting LG, Pugh, got dinged up & left the game so I don’t know the status of his injury. Hopefully he’s ready to go by Sunday. RT(backup) also got dinged up, but stayed in the game. The starter will most likely be returning back this week.

Also thankfully we finally match up with you guys early instead of so late in the season like the last 2 years. Talent wise, this is the best AZ team that will go against LA in the McVay era, but ofc, this LA team is most likely the best in the McVay era, lol.

Yea I'm more nervous about this game than any previous games against the Cards for sure.

Not sure who our defense is yet. And we just put David Long on Mike Evans last week, so I fully expect to see him on Hopkins which will make me lose my mind.

I expect Murray to run a lot in this game. He hasn't run on us much and I'm guessing it was due to him being dinged up, and there's a pretty clear correlation there with him not running and the Cardinals offense struggling against us.

Here we go with another great front 7 - seems to be a theme. Bears, Colts, Bucs and now Cardinals. Our OL has been up to the challenge so far. But Whitworth is 40 and Chandler Jones is a man on fire...

With the shape the Cards Oline is in, this needs to be a solid win.

First Look: Rams and Cardinals square off in battle of undefeated NFC West teams in Week 4

The Rams (3-0) are back at SoFi Stadium in Week 4, this time hosting the Arizona Cardinals (3-0) as both clubs aim to remain undefeated on the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. pacific time on FOX.

In advance of the contest, here is your First Look at Rams-Cardinals, presented by Cedars-Sinai:

Notable Cardinals additions

Acquired C Rodney Hudson in a trade with the Raiders on March 17: Looking to upgrade at center, Arizona also acquired a seventh-rough pick with Hudson from Las Vegas in exchange for a third-round pick in this year's draft. Hudson has already made an impact as the anchor of the Cardinals' offensive line.

Signed RB James Conner to a one-year deal on April 13: Following Kenyan Drake's departure in free agency, the Cardinals effectively replaced him with Conner, who spent his first four seasons with the Steelers. Operating in tandem with starter Chase Edmonds, Conner so far has produced 35 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns through three games.

Top performers in Week 3

QB Kyler Murray completed 28 of 34 pass attempts for 316 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception, but did rush seven times for 19 yards and one touchdown in the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Jaguars.

Conner and Edmonds shared the team lead in carries with 11 each, but Conner led it in rushing overall with 43 yards and two touchdowns.

WR A.J. Green paced the Cardinals receivers with 112 receiving yards on five catches, while Edmonds (49 yards) and WR Christian Kirk (104 yards) each led the team with seven catches.

S Byron Murphy snagged two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, while LB Jordan Hicks led Arizona's defense with 12 total tackles.

On special teams, K Matt Prater made 1 of 2 field goal attempts and all four of his extra point attempts, while P Andy Lee averaged 50.6 yards per punt across five punts.

Early storylines to watch, and what they mean for the Rams

It's still early in the season, but considering how tight the NFC West race has been over the last four years, the magnitude of a division game at any point can't be understated – especially with a Thursday night game against Seahawks looming the following week.

Sunday is a battle for first place in the division, then comes the short turnaround to prep for a second-straight game against a divisional opponent. Collectively, it's a two-game stretch bound to have implications for the division later this season.

For the Rams, their biggest obstacle to a 4-0 start and moving into first place in the NFC West is Murray and the Cardinals' high-scoring offense.

His dual-threat skillset has been on full display through the first three weeks of the season, with a rushing touchdown in every game so far while averaging 335 passing yards per game; meanwhile, the Cardinals are averaging 34.3 points per game.

That explosiveness from Murray and the Cardinals' receivers – DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore and A.J. Green – makes this week another big one for the Rams' secondary in order for them to come away with a win. Limit their effectiveness and overall impact, and have outside linebacker Leonard Floyd do what he was re-signed to do (help contain quarterbacks like Murray), and Los Angeles should be well-positioned for a victory.

The Cardinals are 3-0 and this would be a statement win for them. They recognize this opportunity. They will come in with energy.

The Rams need to be careful of emotional let down after the mostly dominating win over the Bucs.

The Rams are at home… Mostly healthy… Big divisional game... This isn’t a must win, but there are a LOT of reasons they should win. They need to go get it.

I also think McVay is so locked in… he’s in “cross every T mode”. He knows he needs to get this team ready to play emotionally every week to reach their potential.

Should be a good game.
Lets see....One win, two wins, three wins, four....

Look for our secondary to do more of the bend don't break keep everything in front of you D. Keep the explosive plays to a minimum. I agree with this in this game. Need to try Murry's patients, and keep an eye on him coming out of the back field. I think the Rams will force multiple turnovers in this game. Plus put some big hurts on the little QB.

I'm eager to see some truths from this game tbh.

I think Zona's offense is a quality unit. But I don't think your defense is as good as they're playing. That said I am not happy with the Rams defense so maybe that washes out.

Also I think your take is on point. Definitely the most dangerous Cards team the Rams have faced under McVay but sadly for you it looks like the Rams offense is at a whole new level so it might not matter.

Not too worried about this game but that said anything can happen in division games and does every season. This is a big one for both of us. This may be your chance to finally talk some smack around here and have your team back it up so have at it. :laugh1:

This is a really good Cardinals team, with really good players. However, Kingsbury just doesn't impress me. He seems like a cool and funny guy but he doesn't seem like a great coach. That 109 yard field goal return last week was completely on him not thinking it all the way thru, the Cards still get a lot of dumb penalties, and he can't seem to play any way other then super aggressively. I really think with any other NFC West coach the Cardinals make the playoffs last year.

I think it should be a good game, and division games can always go either way but the Rams should win. Better team. Better coaching.

A little concerned about the Rams psychology heading onto this one. A lot of overconfidence on this board, anyway.

If it were me, i'd force Murray to stay in the pocket and make big boy throws and reads. Beyond that(because he will break contain eventually) don't give him an escape route to the left or right. Force his scrambles North/South.

We should start the game blitzing like hell, then back out of it before they adjust.
