SAN FRANCISCO -- The St. Louis Rams have yet to officially release their plans for their 2015 training camp but all signs still point to them spending some time in Oxnard, California, with the Dallas Cowboys.
The plan remains for the Rams to travel to Oakland to play the Raiders in the preseason on Friday, Aug. 14. From there, the Rams would then fly to Oxnard, which is about 65 miles northwest of Los Angeles, to train with the Cowboys. Under the plan, the Rams would remain in Oxnard until Wednesday of the following week.
It's expected that the Rams and Cowboys will put the finishing touches on those plans to scrimmage each other at some point in the near future. The rest of the training camp schedule also has not yet been unveiled. The Rams begin Organized Team Activities on June 3.
The Rams have also had discussions with the Indianapolis Colts about training together, but the attention has mostly turned to working with the Cowboys. Training with either team would be different for the Jeff Fisher-led Rams, who have trained exclusively at Rams Park in St. Louis since his arrival in 2012.
The initial possibility of the Rams training so close to Los Angeles certainly raised some eyebrows, given what's going on with the team and owner Stan Kroenke's plan to build a stadium in Inglewood. That project is not under the microscope at this week's owners meetings because there is nothing new to report.
Both Inglewood and Carson stadium projects have been entitled and, in Inglewood's case, the ground is shovel ready. Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff is scheduled to participate in Wednesday's meetings to offer an update on what's currently happening in the St. Louis market.
