If he's calling out his new 15 million dollar a year WR, when his QB didn't even look his way, McVay is way off base. How about talking about our Oline that couldn't block, or the predictable play calling first?
McSnead should really reflect on this. If there is an issue with maximizing, why wouldn’t you maximize the OL knowing damn well that Big Whit was on his way out? And I am sure with the Woods trade to Tenn we could of possibly got Saffold. Now Buffalo has him and their OL dominated.

I'm getting real sick of the high school run off tackle on every first down offense! Mix it up some!

Yeah, Cam has never liked to block and it highlights exactly what I've been saying about Edwards as a JAG who has no business as a starter on the OL.

Maybe he got the call wrong. It looks like he thought he was gonna get help from Allen but by the time he realised it wasn't coming it was too late. There's no way that's how he would block if he thought he was on his own.

.

That's the thing though.. He didn't block ANYTHING, haha. It's like he had his head down the whole time. God that team should be embarrassed as hell.

Some indecisiveness here but Cam is clearly a delayed receiver to the flat on this play. Maybe he should've chipped but not exactly his fault that Edwards completely failed at his job. Akers' job was to be a receiver on this play, Edwards' job was to block.

Also IDK what McVay means by making the most of his opportunities. Cam was hit behind the LOS on every one of his touches (all 3 of them). Would love for McVay to explain exactly what Akers is supposed to do when he's getting the ball 12 yards behind the LOS and has to create a 12 yard run just to net 0....

I don't think so. Stafford is not even looking his way. Not a delayed release either. In real time, this happened very, very quickly.

By the time Cam turns his head around, Stafford is already on his back. Yeah, Edwards whiffed, but Akers bailed out.

Definitely agree on Saffold. Not sure why we didn't try like hell to bring him back. Our o-line would definitely be in better shape.

No excuse for poor pass blocking like that. But I think those ready to write Akers off are doing so prematurely. Cam got what.... 3 carries? And was hit immediately in the backfield every time?

Hendo is a good #2 albeit injury prone. If Cam can return to form as a solid RB1 then our RB corps instantly looks much better, more so in need of supporting depth and injury insurance than any big name talent like Hunt. As such, I would not go spending any draft picks or other assets on bringing in an external RB just yet, like some here are suggesting, until we know if Cam can return to his pre-achilles injury form. Of course, we won't know that giving him only 3 carries per night, and not letting him get into the game by benching him until the 2nd quarter. If after splitting carries for a few weeks, Akers still looks unimpressive, then it might well be time to start thinking about adding to the RB room. But until then, I'd be saving all the capital I have for offensive line help, as I really think that unit is beyond help internally. And although I am not a huge fan of our RB room at present, if we upgrade our OL, the RBs will likely look much better.

No sweeps not enough pitchouts, surley mcvay should have known Von Miller new the plays and may be should have called some he never saw last year. I know I'm reaching but that was a typical pre mcvay ram effort. How come Buffalo was ready to play, on the road. No excuses

Even if Cam started I'm not sure it would've made any difference with McVay going full Mike Martz...

Also, holy shit at that twit vid of him avoiding the block on the DT

So did Akers do something before the game even started because they started Henderson. Whatever the case. Akers isn't why the Rams lost the game. That terrible OL is why and that predictable run every 1st down made sure the Bills D didn't have to think much.

I was surprised to see Hendo get the start. I guess we now know why. Cam ain't doing it.
