How quickly my views have changed. I dislike a few players since I started watching the wnba. Haven't missed a Fever game yet.

I don't watch the games. But I do check on scores and news from time to time. Which is a lot more than I used to. I actually watched the last 5 minutes of the Iowa/LSU game. The first time I paid any attention to women's basketball. Still haven't watched WNBA games.

Caitlin Clark is the reason for the huge boost in attendance. You'd have to have tunnel vision to deny that. That is the difference between men and women. In the NBA if there was a hotshot rookie the guys might be a little more physical with the kid. More trash talking with it like "Welcome to the NBA kid". But you won't see the petty jealousy from them. Its a woman thing. They know Caitlin Clark put the WNBA on the map but they won't admit it.

Major upset on Saturday when her team beat the #1 team this year. It was fun watching her get the first rookie triple double the W has ever had. Looking forward to the all-star game July 20 when the W all-stars play the USA team.

Watching the WNBA doesn't work for me because it doesn't hold my interest very long. Watching it reminds me of watching a little league baseball game that none of my sons are playing in.

And I really appreciate the way that women's b-ball is played closer to the rulebook than men's. Trying to watch it for more than 1 Quarter though is the equivalent to taking strong ass sleeping pills.

Was hella fun watching the W all-stars bet Team USA the other night. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Following a player like Clark, her games are fun to watch. I just love her entertaining style of play. How she runs the court, finds the open player, does a behind the back pass or a football style bomb. And when she hits those long 3-pointers. She just does so much on the court. I'll watch a few of the other games but like Selassie says I can't watch a full game and sometimes it's just background noise. A close game down the stretch is interesting to me.

She now has the hapless Fever team in solid position to make playoffs. Fuck rookie of the year, she is MVP worthy.
Still the haters continue to hate.
Including this one, who refuses to give her any credit

And still draws flagrant fouls at a ridiculous rate. The hate is real and it's sickening.

when the season started , I think she was just exhausted ,

played a full season off college basketball , right up to the final game , then it was publicity , talk shows , SNL , then the WNBA draft , then training camp ,

she never got an off season , like the rest of the WNBA players did

until they took that month off over the all star break , or what ever they called it

but since she got that month off , she's been on fire

just wait till next year , when she'll get an entire off season to rest up

Several sources reported that 17% of the WNBA's Flagrant Fouls this year have been committed against Clark.

That means One-out-of-Six Flagrant Fouls are against ONE of the 144 WNBA players.

....we're actually talking about the WNBA?? CC has already had a major impact on WNBA revenue & media share. No question. She's even got her very own thread on a LA Rams board.
What an incredible player, but equally, what an impact she's had on women's basketball as a whole. The MJ of the WNBA. Prolly get her own Nike deal (if she hasn't already?)

saw them mention the other day , all Clacks games attendance averages close to 16,000 people , while the rest of the WNBA games averages a little over 8,000 people , with both the LA , and NY teams averaging around 10,000

they were saying how all these WNBA players just need to STFU, because Clark alone is going to earn them all more money

Yeah like I've said in previous posts she is literally going to get the players more money by just being there. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. I don't understand the jealousy and hate she gets from some.

Bruddas... she is absolutely a freak/generational talent... but...

I'm gonna say it like it is... even though today's climate for truth/facts is terrible and many people want to turn truths into agendas. It seems like I am always the person who is too willing to open my mouth when it comes to sensitive topics that really shouldn't be sensitive at all. So here I go again.

There is just no way in hell that Caitlin Clark could be effective playing against NBA players. She is one of the best women's B-Ball players I have ever seen... but most human beings (men or women) just wouldn't be able to compete on a basketball court full of NBA players. There is such a tiny percentage of D1 men's B-Ball players that are able to make it into the NBA that it's mind blowing. I believe that it is less than 1%.

NBA players are so far above other human beings in B-Ball talent that they should almost be considered a separate species from all other humans. It's literally like they are super human. I witnessed this up close and personal when I started refing NBA Summer League games here in Orlando years ago. It's very hard to describe, but it's almost frightening when you get to see the jump in talent level from D1 men's players to NBA players. Even the last players on the bench on every NBA team are light years ahead of some of the best D1 players. Honestly, NBA players should be much more recognized for just HOW gifted they truly are. 99%+ of humanity cannot compete on the basketball court with NBA players in a meaningful way.

I realize some will feel I'm just being sexist when I add this, but they shouldn't. Caitlin would definitely put a beating on most guys on a B-Ball court... but not most D1 men's players. I hate to say it this bluntly, but she wouldn't be able to make a D1 level team even with her generational talent. The games are THAT MUCH different. Sure she could drain some 3's on anyone... but not with the regularity you see her doing against other women.

I'm confident in saying this because of another personal experience of mine. Another one of the greatest women's B-Ball players ever went to the same HS as I did. We were in the same grade and I watched her dominate like a beast. Back in those days our HS B-Ball coach would make us (I played HS B-Ball) go to many of the girls games for support. I watched this freak... Bridgette Gordon... basically single handedly bring home the State Championship to our school. Every single college in the country recruited her hard... but she of course went to play for Pat Summit at Tennessee where she won National Championships. She also won Olympic golds for our country. There was no WNBA back then, but she played professionally in Europe and there are fricking statues of her standing over there today in front of some of the team's arenas she played for.

Back in HS I used to practice against her sometimes because she asked me to. I wasn't the greatest player, but I didn't suck. I did receive 1 offer from a D1 school to play B-Ball. That school (Stetson) made it into the tournament this year for the 1st time in their history lol (16 seed). So I had some game. When I practiced against her I could make her completely human on the court... we're both 6'2"... but when she played against any woman she might as well have been Aaron Donald playing against a middle schooler. The men and women's B-BALL games are just not on the same levels.

Sorry for the novel, but I wanted to try and explain this the best way that I could without it diminishing, or taking away from, the true greatness of Caitlin. I love watching her play... and I cannot say that about many women B-Ball players. I sometimes enjoy watching a women's B-Ball game, but I fucking LOVE watching Caitlin play. Huge difference. There just cannot be enough great things said about her B-Ball skills... but that still doesn't mean she can compete with NBA players and that is damn sure not a slight on her.

I don’t think that’s sexist at all.

When McEnroe got in trouble for saying Serena was the greatest women’s tennis player of all time, he got tremendous backlash, but Serena immediately came out and backed him up, saying on a late night talk show that if she played Andy Roddick, he’d beat her 6-0, 6-0 in like 5-7 minutes… she specifically mentioned the power of men’s serves and how it’s really a different game.

Same with basketball. Men’s bball is played above the rim with an athleticism that defies gravity.

Caitlin Clark is an amazing basketball player for sure, but she couldn’t make the team at a top 50 college men’s program now. I’d say not at all instead of top 50, but we all know there’s some low hanging fruit at the end of some benches in college basketball.

Will we see women in men’s pro sports? Sure. I fully expect the first to be a pitcher in MLB. 1A would be place kicker in the NFL. I expect it will be very limited, but it will happen because it can.

And Caitlin Clark is gonna raise the bar for the WNBA more than a few notches, for sure

She may do for the WNBA what Magic and Bird did for the NBA. Anyone remember the NBA before them? 70s basketball wasn’t remotely a thing of beauty.

Caitlin could use a peer and Angel Reese ain’t it. There needs to be a legit rivalry where talent transcends any media manufactured rivalry

The WNBA will always amount to nothing more than an extreme "minor league" entertainment product that is way down the list for the majority of sports fans.

I've considered the fact that rookies need to be WELCOMED TO THE LEAGUE... but That League doesn’t have any real past or future. The "leaders" of the WNBA are complete failures.

I couldn't care less about Clark just to make sure that is absolutely clear. However, if I was in charge of a professional League that is basically only being kept alive by outside money (the NBA)... I wouldn't be fucking over the most unbelievable rookie the league has ever seen or hoped for. I understand a newbie needs to earn their stripes... but Clark did that in ways no other has ever done in this failing league.

The officiating in that playoff game tonight that eliminated Indiana was total bullshit. That League has no chance to succeed with the clowns who are running it into the dirt now. Total incompetence would be too kind of a description of that leagues leadership.

Sad.

Agreed, after watching players constantly run her over, knock her down, and literally try to claw her eye out and minimal to no repercussions along with excuses and defending of the assaulters has really been appalling. I guess it's jealousy? I don't know what else it'd be.

I get it, she comes in already a millionaire when most of the WNBA players never get close to that kind of money I could see them wanting to try and knock her down a peg competitively speaking. But how they don't see what she could do for their sport and their own earnings over the next decade is amazing to me. Don't need to kiss her ass... don't need to give her a free pass... try and beat her on the court... but trying to tear her down both physically and in the media is just fucking weird. If anything they should use her to their advantage.

If I was a free agent star going into this offseason I'd be trying to go to the Fever. Try and make myself the Jordan/Pippen of the WNBA and ride those coattails and see what kind of sponsorship money I could get.
