Not sure I'd spend big money on Wagner. Jones and Howard are more than capable of handling our 2 ILB spots, considering how often we actually use 2 ILBs. Jones has shown he can stay on the field. We need 2 back up ILBs...with one being capable of leading the way should Jones go down.....but I think you can fill that spot w/o spending a lot of money....

I think in this new longer version of the NFL, every position could use legitimate NFL caliber back ups. Problem is no team can stay under the cap and do it.

Wagoner would be a good addition if he’d take a contract that could get him on the team without eating up too much cap. But is that reasonable? There may be some other back ups that could fill in for a game or three and not break the bank.

Not sure you got the Clay & Barron situation right. Was thinking Clay was cut & Barron was never cut?

Rozeboom was a big special teams player at the end of the season.IMO he needs to cut his hair, but that’s me.

Ernest Jones is who Raheem Morris groomed all season.I don’t recall if you had much Hate for Morris. It seemed this board was infested with it though at one point in the 2021 season.
I do know you weren’t a Fan of The Rams defensive back squad.Rapp is a player I’ve never liked that much & one of the players I trust.Goes back to that last Niners game with RAMsey. Then seeing what happened late in the season with those 2 players was concerning, but handle by Morris & The Rams the right way.
It was Morris who reached out to Eric Weedle which I honestly think was a main reason The Rams won the SuperBowl.

As far a Ernest Jones though as a Rams ILB is impressive. His age, size & draft status were in question on how much he could work in.
Very Very impressive for an undersized young player.IMO his future is so Bright. He was such a Team leader Late & got hurt.Made one of the biggest plays in the SuperBowl. His hands with a pick 6 & a couple other nice INT’s.. Then add he was given the responsibility to wear the Green Helmet.

If he can put on weight & muscle he should be able to solidify more of the run defense. He has such good instincts to get to the ball, but would get pushed back because of his young size.
Basically he would be a High Draft pick if he was coming out after a Senior Year ??
Hope this helps you out..... the below is correct.

On 3/19/2020 OLB Clay Matthews was released by the Rams clearing, $3.75M of cap space. Matthews then retired.

On 3/5/2019 ILB Barron was released, clearing $6.3M of cap

Dc Morris really likes to utilize numerous DB's & a 5 player defensive front. Injuries to Rams safeties forced DC Morris to utilize MLB'er Reader in far too many passing situations. Snead has 11 DB's currently signed(6 safeties & 5 CBs)

Most all of DC Morris's have strong strong safety skills over deep safety skills that are usually utilized in those two ILB'er posts in passing situations. DC Morris could really use a good deep/free safety prospect added to this safety cadre.

I do not sense Snead/Mcvay has any desire to invest what remaining cap funds into a highly used high mileage aging 43 D MLB'er.

Absolutely not! Remember when Samson had his locks cut?

Well, I could argue you need 3 starting caliber players for those two spots considering that injuries do happen.

So Jones, Wagner, and Howard does that for you. Plus, Wagner would be big for your two biggest games of the yr... against the Niners run game.

One thing I don't like is when random people on Twitter or wherever say Wagner makes sense because we lost Von???? Two totally different players and while both linebackers it's a again a totally different position.

I would love the signing but not at the cost of a high level edge and a real corner.

The giants seem to want to dump Bradbury. I was never a believer still not convinced but his salary is decent.

If the Rams don't trade for an elite type edge for AD would you guys be satisfied/happy with

Clowney
Wagner
Bradbury

I still think that makes us a better defense overall what do you guys think?

i think the reasoning behind that type of statement is money. losing von means more money available, which could go to getting wagner

I mean his twitter header there has AD in with him so he may have "insider info"
Yeah, and a colts insider posting random info about the rams with the aforementioned random photo with a ram, I’m willing to believe for no other reason than the randomness of it all and what do I have to lose.

Counting on it tomorrow until tomorrow passes.

True but there are so many other players that could of been brought in at any number of positions with that money ...I feel like when it's linebacker for linebacker speak it's annoying lolol....but I'm an asshole so what do I know.

And the word "random" sounds a little like Ram. So there's that.
