the optimist in me want to believe the rams havent signed wagner, or odell for that matter, cuz they are trying to sign donald first to know what they got to work with

Well Snead already talked about Odell
testing the market once healthy. They are going to take there time there. He also said that is in OBj’s best interest.

My prediction is he might become a Packer? Matt Lafleur really likes him & Aaron Rogers is a guy that is going to vocal about it in his own way.

I know The Rams & Mcvay have a good relationship with him.I’m just saying Von Miller left, but Jalen Ramyhas a way about him recruiting players for The Rams.

I'm starting to get a tad suspicious in a positive way.

Wagner and Gilmore both unsigned? It's almost like they're waiting for ADs contract situation to get figured out...

I imagine the Rams already have worked out various scenarios with Donald's extension and have a good idea of where they are.

There's really nothing that compels either Wagner or Beckham to make a quick decision on where to play. Both of them could delay for days, weeks, even months if they wanted to. And I prefer it that way, TBH. I don't want Beckham to sign here, be happy in March and then become unhappy late in the season when he's not getting the ball as much as he expected. If he needs to take a good long time to be sure of where he wants to play, then so be it.

Honey Badger is still out there too. He’s very versatile. He plays all three corner spots and safety . I expected to hear about the Rams having interest. Maybe he too wants more than what’s been offered.

At this point I guess it’s best for these players to investigate all options for their own good. It must be quite the blow to their ego to be getting lowball offers after being at the top of their positions for so many years. It has to suck to realize teams feel that they are in decline.

However, I’m starting to think OBJ is unrealistic. He may not even play at all this year. Plus he’s hasn’t been the most durable receiver in his career. How much money will teams risk on that. If I’m a GM I’m also looking at the offense he just played in and who he played with and for. Kupp took pressure away from Beckham. Where will he go and have the same benefit. Plus McVay is good at scheming guys open and Stafford has a laser. How likely is it that he can repeat his success with the Rams elsewhere. Plus that was a very short window of success then he gets injured again. He’s not a number 1 receiver. I’d also consider his fallout in Cleveland. Some GMs may not want to risk him getting unhappy.

I get that they are likely waiting on AD.

And I get that they have never really (with Snead and McVay) tried to win the first wave of free agency.

And oh my goodness I understand that they have earned the benefit of the doubt, you know, because they are mother fucking super bowl champs.

But I wanna I wanna I wanna know everything now!

For Wagner I believe it’s more than waiting on AD. I believe the offer was within the Rams current cap space but was low enough for Wagner to feel he needed to explore other options.

I'm going to be incredibly annoyed if anything was ever released that a few of the Rams targets were signed away while they were having to deal with a long, drawn out AD extension in which he's already being paid very well.

The Rams have the cap space to sign Wagner right now. The AD situation has no impact. They have a number which they think is fair, and he has a number he wants. And if those 2 line up, he signs. If they dont, he signs elsewhere. Its that simple.

Just saw Peter King say that Wagner wants a 1yr $11mil deal. And we don't want to pay that, we want it lower.

I guess the flip side is we could always bring back Troy Reeder, or another UDFA.. of run it back with an undersized Travin Howard inside next to Jones and get gashed in the running game again.

There's maybe 3-4 defensive FA that would be improvements over what we currently have, outside of that, it's a bunch of washed up vets and JAGs.

Rams absolutely have cap to sign Wagner for what we're rumored to be offering and to do more. The question is not about what we're giving Wagner is what else are they working on?

I just read that too. Doesn't sound too good for us signing Wagner as that's a lot for us given our CAP and also because he's aging. Guessing we are offering closer to 8-9 mil per year maybe?

He's aging but still a high level LB. Von is older and we were offering way more.

Yeah but pass rushers always cost more so that's why Von can get way more. I agree he's a high level LB who I would love us to sign but I'm guessing the Rams don't value that ILB position as highly. Maybe they pivot to Gilmore or another CB and/or pass rush vet combo?

They don't seem to value ILB, iOL or S.

Have to trust them regardless but it's hard right now.

Yeah I hear you as I'm all for signing good football players in general and there aren't a bunch left in FA. I definitely hope we don't miss the boat on other FAs like we did Von but I'm sure the Rams have a plan, at least I hope they do lol.....We'll eventually see their plan and I'm sure Snead will work his magic as usual.

I would not put the run gashing stink on ILB Travin Howard...DC Morris only let him start 2 gms @ that WSILB'er post. My thought is we needed Howard on the field more.:thumbsup1::laugh1:

So which defenders started most of the gms @ ILB'er?

I also need to remind myself that DC Morris played primarily 5 DBs & a ton of 6 mixed in with only four upfront (2 OLB'ers & 2 DL'ers) ....meaning only one ILB'er most all season so Morris's preference was to use smaller defenders to stop the RUN.:wow2::thinking:

Rams sites state Troy Reeder started 10 gms @ MLB post. Ernest Jones started 7 gms. Not sure just how much Taylor Rapp was included in the ILB gm starts??

I should also let it be known IMO starting safety Jordan Fuller who had a ton of tackles did not involve himself in run stopping he was very reluctant at best.:crying::thumbsdown:
