I wasn't a big fan of Jake's when he started out. His writing skills needed work. He came across as a fanboy in the beginning. But I have to hand it to him. He's put the work in and made something of himself. He makes a lot of good points in his podcasts. I like listening to him. He's much more tied in than I ever thought he would be. Who knows, maybe he becomes the next Pete Shrager.

I would agree and Jake is from my neck of the woods here in Clifton Park, NY. I've had several conversations with him and his growth plus depth of knowledge has improved immeasurably. Jake is not afraid of putting his observations out there and his technological expertise and ability to read all the minutia coming in during his podcast is simply amazing, that is something I'm not sure I would have the ability to do, while I'm trying to make some points.

Jake has made all the sacrifices that one has to make to follow his dream and I admire it and continue to wish him the very best with his growth and love of he Los Angeles Rams.

Like many others here, I am much more concerned with CB and Edge. Wagner would be a nice upgrade at his position, and particularly helpful vs. a 49er offense that we struggle against, but I still view Wagner as a luxury. CB is a need. Edge arguably is as well, but with Floyd, Gaines, and Donald, it is less so than CB.

The Ram seem to have cap space budgeted for additional trades/signings with Whitworth retiring (even after Noteboom's contract, we are gaining cap room at LT), trading Woods, missing out on Miller, and structuring Stafford's contract to have a smaller cap hit this season. I would not pay big money for Wager. I am skeptical of him. His best days seem to be behind him, IMO. The Rams do not prioritize ILB. And Ernest Jones is really coming up. But we do have cap space and *at the right price point* we might as well use it here, IMO, as an upgrade is an upgrade and we will always have to get by the 49ers. I think the Rams approach of insisting on a team friendly deal is wise. I just hope the Rams don't overplay their hand, and miss out on a good bargain with Wagner because they insisted on an even bigger discount. The $4M deal that has been rumored is pretty cheap for a player of Wagner's pedigree. I'm only lukewarm on Wagner, but if that is the line in the sand I'd be supportive of moving it.

Who was that parallel crazy guy from stltoday who started just posting and got on some reputable sights but then lost his mind when the rams left stl? Weightlifting dude. Does he still rail against the rams while claiming to be a fan? Jake should use him as a case study for what not to be.

Agreed id love wagoner but only if we know we can secure the edge position and CB and lets not leave out obj who seems like they slowly trying to let the fan base down and may not bring him back at all.

As i said many times while we recognize the beed at edge we still understand that even a vet would suffice as we were leading the league in sacks prior to von. However what we tend to brush over is that AD while he wants the contract is asking for a legit Robin to his Batman no offense to Floyd he is probably batgirl at this time and I mean that in the most respectful way because i couldn't think of an actual trio that worked...to be more politically correctly in case any mob comes at me its Batwoman lololol.

My point is AD may be haggling over money but maybe also he wants something in place that securea his Robin. He has never been a diva ever. One can say the perfect Ram however now he is in a position to request some things and he isnt requesting some long diva list abd in reality the rams have not co.e through YET sadly..

-Von = X
-Obj = X (as of now and seeming bleaker each day)
- New Contract = X

So far none of his 3 requests have been met even the contract which could be a standoff til he see some commitment that he will get help in the form of Robin.

That was Shane. I don't remember his last name, but he guaranteed there was no way the Rams were leaving and then lost his shyte when it became inevitable.

I’d be surprised if he signed somewhere for less than $8m/yr.

RE: Jake; he's the only Rams podcast guy I listen to. Younger than me, not a fan as long as me, but does his research, is very knowledgeable on the Rams and players etc, and is overall a positive voice on the Rams. Picked me up a few times last year after losses, and it was a fun ride in my first year tuning in to the show.

RE: Wagner; if he doesn't sign with the Rams, I like Baltimore. So I'm setting myself up for that possibility. Just say no to the Whiners that's all.

I see a need at safety too. Frankly we're not terrible at any position. Snead can just go BPA without reaching for a WR or RB1.
Yep, we do need to have some discussions about this on another thread all by itself.

Snead's recent 5 draft selections involving 2nd, 3rd, 6th & two 7th round picks for college safeties is at best a mixed bag unit of slightly better "JAG Rated " Safeties. Most all are strong safeties. Where's the deep free ballhawk type?

Former 2019 7th rd selection Nick Scott who has not been a starter when the regular season began 2019/ 2020 & 2021 might be the best of the five @ safety.

Bobby Wagner, Cowboys Target, Leaves Rams, Visits Ravens in NFL Free Agency

BY MIKE FISHER FANNATION DALLAS COWBOYS NEWS, ANALYSIS AND MORE
UPDATED MARCH 25, 2022

Ultimately, in addition to "winning,'' this is more about "finance'' than "fit.'' That goes for the Rams, the Cowboys, the Ravens, all of them.

FRISCO - After visiting the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week, All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner spent Friday making a free agency visit to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN.com.

Does that mean he's skipping over Dallas geographically? Or skipping over the Cowboys entirely?

As of Thursday, Wagner's hometown team in L.A. hadn't yet closed a deal with him. So he gets to continue shopping himself ... looking, he says, for one thing.

"I just want to win," Wagner said to TMZ Sports as he arrived Wednesday at LAX Airport.

In fairness to any contender for his services, no team has done more winning than the Rams, with two Super Bowl appearances in the last four seasons, a recent title, and seeming continued success in free agency and offseason moves.

Wagner was asked by TMZ for his thoughts on the Rams situation. "Sounds good!" he replied.

CowboysSI.com was first to report that Dallas was in touch. Since then has come word that there is "no momentum'' in talks. And the Rams and the Ravens are actually hosting him.

Ultimately, in addition to "winning,'' this is more about "finance'' than "fit.'' That goes for the Rams, the Cowboys, the Ravens, all of them.

Wagner is a do-it-all talent, an iconic Seahawk, and a future Hall of Fame guy. Is he going downhill as a performer? He will turn 32 in June, so that's coming. But last season, Wagner posted a career-high 170 tackles in 16 games played, also recording a sack and an interception.

"Fit''? Yeah, he fits. "Finance''? Wagner is still on the market in part, logic says, due to his price tag. He is coming off a contract that was paying him $18 million APY. As much as teams would like to have him - the Cowboys might remain interested, but we're not aware of a plane ticket to DFW purchased just yet - that's a rich price point.

The Cowboys have the cap room to do something big, in part as a result of the Randy Gregory fiasco. Bobby Wagner would be big. For Dallas ... but also for the Rams and the Ravens and anybody else he views as a "winner.''

I don’t know that I see edge as a position the rams will target. I thought Lewis was coming on and doing some good things. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the rams shore up the middle with Wagner and Jones and roll with Lewis.

Again they kind of need to do what's best for AD if he wants someone there then they will have to do what they can. I don't think this is fully just about the Rams evaluation AD wants a say. Who knows that could be the hold up on why he hasn't extended yet. Guess we will see.

I’d like the Rams to sign a few guys under the table. Then when Wagner comes back and says hey I want to play here. McSnead can say wow we forgot to inform you, we moved on!

Still holding out hope that Wagner will sign with the Rams but get less and less optimistic that he will choose the Rams with each passing day!! Hope I am wrong and he chooses the Rams and for my nerves sake I wish Wagner would make his decision soon!!

His full name is Shane Gray…. You can still find his idiotic stories on the net….
He's the reason I left another Rams site because anybody who dared to have a differing opinion was just blasted from his fan boys over there. And even asking him to discuss differing opinions was straight blasphemy.

So.... Free Agent ILB Bobby Wagner had visits with the Rams and the Ravens over the last week and left both franchises without signing a contract?

Wagner is testing all the waters and appears to be very patient with his first experience as an NFL free agent.

Can't blame him for taking his time.

Will the final outcome be more motivated by guaranteed money, length of contract or choosing a team he feels has the best chance of making a deep playoff run?

His preference is probably a combination of all, but Wagner should be aware he's not likely going to have his cake and eat it too if money is the bigger motivation.

If Wagner is seriously thinking about going to an NFL team, he believes will make a deep playoff run, he might want to circle back to the Rams and give them a few more discount coupons.

I don't know where to accurately rank Bobby, but what I do know is (he's no longer a top 5 or 8 NFL linebacker).

I believe he's still a very good player, and on the right team he probably has a couple of very solid years left in his tank.

Do you want more cheese or another ring on your resume Mr. Wagner?

It's your call Mr. Wagner, I won't judge you no matter what your final decision is. You've been a true professional during your NFL career.

the optimist in me want to believe the rams havent signed wagner, or odell for that matter, cuz they are trying to sign donald first to know what they got to work with
