Corum cant "hold in", CBA stipulates the rookie contracts arent eligible for re-negotiation until after the player completes their third season. If the team felt compelled to offer a revised deal, they surely can but the player cant influence it
 
It's possible, with Hunter waiting in the wings, we trade one of these guys, from a value standpoint.
But, from a team success standpoint, I'd do what it takes to keep both. They just complement each other very well.

Getting these Premium backs in the draft and sitting them a season or two is smart roster management. Same $'s for them on that first contract anyway.
These players have miles on them. High School, College. Rest them up. Rebuild them. Reintroduce them into these grueling long seasons. Hell, we could be up to 18 game regular season soon.

Williams/Corum have surpassed Gibbs/Montgomery as the best ONE-TWO punch RB's in the league in my eyes.

It's fucking awesome to watch. I think they feed off each other and have good chemistry. This is a special team. Truly is a We then Me framework.

I can't imagine how good Hunter can be when it's his turn.

If I were to consider trading one of them, I would be leaning towards trading KW in a 'move up in the draft' type of deal.
Corum needs work on blitz pick ups, but he is far less money against the cap than KW. Can J. Hunter step up next year?
Not saying that's what I WANT to do, just a choice that I'd consider if the right circumstances present themselves somehow on draft day.
2 firsts this year, one next year and KW for Mendoza?
Even better if MS9 returns next season for Mendoza to take notes for a season or two.

I love both our backs Kyren has been awesome.
Blake to me is more of breakaway 50+ guy than kyren
But kyren is stronger and runs with such great pad level
that's why he is the top tier goaline back.just give the man
a sliver of daylight at the 5yd line and it's 6.

I can't say any of this without talking bout them road graders
our boys have in front of them!

This is just Corum's 2nd year and he's just starting to establish himself as being good. If we want to get max value for him it would be after his 3rd season IMO.

I get it.... I think he provides more value to the Rams in a trade for moving up in next years draft.

They spent a 3rd on him and won't get that back if he's used as a trade up piece.

I think he has MUCH more value on the team helping us compete for SBs. Since his contract is low, and it's early in the contract, there is literally zero reason to consider trading him.

The last 2 weeks have been awesome for the Rams run game. When you consider rushing + receiving Gibbs/Montgomery is still the standard 1/2 punch.

or just let these guy roll as is cause it already works.
 
It is amazing how fast guys seem to want to trade a guy based on a guy we haven't even seen prove himself. It's an old adage but it is a smart one. If it aint broke don't fix it.

My guess is that McVay has been searching for this type of running back tandem ever since he wore out Gurley. He will not be looking to make room for Hunter. Hunter will have to break the door down to get on the field.

I'm not cosigning the Gibbs/Montgomery are #2 but I also have to point out 5 of the last 6 weeks the Rams run game has been "awesome" the last 2 weeks it's been unworldly.

FWIW, the 4 games previous to the last 2 weeks, they've averaged 121.5 yards per game and 4.3 yds/att with 4 TDs
