While some of them are for promotions this is fucking insane

"With the Bengals needing to replace Callahan, this means that EVERY TEAM in the NFL has changed their OC since the 2022 offseason"

That's amazing.

McVay cant block him from taking an OC job, nor could he have blocked Henderson

The rule just recently changed a couple years ago. Now if assistants have a chance to be OC or DC you cannot block them back during Fisher’s time you could.
Yep. Keep forgetting that rule changed. Probably good to keep the asshats under control.

McVay stopped O’Connell from making a lateral move to Chargers.
Yes you can still block lateral moves, however, you cannot block someone from going from QB Coach to OC anymore.

I don't think it should have anything to do with lateral moves or promotions. It should be, "are you under contract". But that doesn't mean as much as it used to in sports. Having said that, McVay lets them go for promotions (and even lateral moves) but that's part of what attracts assistants to the Rams. You're gonna get noticed as an OC or DC if you have a killer offense or defense for just 1 year with any team in the league. But you're going to get more exposure with a team that's in the playoffs 5 of 7 years. McVay might be getting better at picking his assistants, partly because there are so many willing to join the Rams.

Yep, that's why I was clearing it up. McVay may be helpful at times to his guys, but doesnt get the credit for guys who are interviewing elsewhere that he wasnt able to block. Lol

I think they have a pretty good system now, I like the idea that coaches can move up to coordinator role, and more importantly have defined roles of what is and isnt a "promotion".
What I cant stand is the interviewing during playoffs nonsense.
Should only allow after Superbowl

That would be ideal except for the coaches who don't have gigs would be ahead on stacking their staffs. But I agree it would be better than this BS. This stuff has to affect how well the coordinators prepare in some of these games.

No interviews until after playoffs, no HC hires. No stacking staffs because nobody can interview.
Day after SB it would be mayhem

Raiders expected to hire former Chargers general manager Tom Telesco as new GM

Published: Jan 23, 2024 at 03:32 PM

The Las Vegas Raiders are on the verge of swiping a former division rival to lead their front office.
All signs point to the Raiders hiring former Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco as their new GM, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday.

Considered a dark-horse candidate among the Raiders finalists, which included interim GM Champ Kelly and Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds, Telesco brings a wealth of experience to pair with coach Antonio Pierce. That experience likely won out for owner Mark Davis, who reportedly had expressed apprehension about pairing a first-time GM with a rookie coach.

L.A. fired Telesco in mid-December after 11 seasons with the organization. The Chargers earned three playoff appearances during his tenure, going 84-92 overall.
Telesco drafted eight Pro Bowlers during his run with the Chargers, including Keenan Allen (five times), Joey Bosa (four), Derwin James (three) and Justin Herbert (one). He helped build competitive rosters in L.A., including big recent free-agent splurges, but the club could never get over the hump.

Pairing Pierce, a first-year full-time coach, with a veteran GM with draft acumen makes smart sense for a Raiders club looking for a quick turnaround after firing Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler after less than two seasons.

Spanos: Let’s fire the GM because these pro bowlers are under achieving.

Good hire for the Raiders.

Which is why I think Harbaugh is not smart for thinking about going there, however he’d need to put in writing serious anti stupid Spanish language I. That contract.

Also is leverage versus Michigan and the dumb ass AD we have.

Nobody is making a smart decision to go be a head coach for Spanos. He's a lousy owner, as bad as Georgia.

Would be funny if Carolina and Las Vegas were preferred landing spots and Spanos had to scrape the bottom of the barrel over and over again till the force him out .

Kroenke owns Sofi. He should bug the Chargers and steal all the opponent information Harbaugh WILL steal!

VOILA! ... I may be the first ROD poster to use the word "voila" ... My Mission is Done
